Thats cool that your a prison guard and you do this stuff... i bet your the first to know when someones cookin somethin up.... do you have to make it in such a big quantity?
when you make hard cider from this juice or from fresh squeezed apples, once you bottle it in wine bottles and cork it, Do you know how long you could exspect it to last? (in the wine bottle) Is it like mead or wine and last years or just a few months?
Dude.....turn the captions on for this video....it's absolutely hilarious.........use the "transcribe audio" beta........It's like watching a bad thai martial arts movie.....
Nice vid Bud. I racked my cider off today and put in the bentonite. It has cleared a good deal in just a few hours. I can't wait to taste it when it is done. I luv me some cider!
@teamhex Defalcos over on Stella Link is good, but they're in the process of moving so a lot of their stock is down. B&S Brewer's Guild isn't bad, but they're a little over priced and most of the folks dont know what they're talking about. If you go there buy their stuff, but don't listen to their advice. They're also pretty good about ordering something if they don't have it in stock. Get on the Mashtronaught board or hit me up and i'll talk you through it.
@teamhex If you have B&S order something for you make sure you get what you order. A lot of the time they don't know the difference. For instance I asked them to order me Briess Bavarian extract and they cautioned me that it wasn't fermentable because she didn't understand the description from the label. They did order it for me though and they even keep it in stock for me. It's just $5 more expensive than anywhere else per 3 lbs container. Same as paying shipping though.
@teamhex You could also call Keg Cowboy (google them for their number) and see if they have their kits in. They're supposed to be getting pre-packaged organic only kits. Should be well priced started at about $25. They're over on S. Shepard. I'm not sure if they have the kits in stock yet. If they ask tell them you're a member of the Bay Area Mashtronauts. You get a 5% discount.
awesome vid james! you and i must be thinking on the same wavelength, because im making a batch of cider tomorrow and ill be making a vid of it for youtube!!!
