  • Make up your own MST3K dialogue.

  • We can go to teentown!!

  • Teen Town eh? Hmmmmmm sounds like trub to me.

  • This looks like Germans already had a grip on the US society shortly after ww2.Such nagging to instigate people one against the other can be very disruptive for the society. It keeps the people busy with idle talk and activities.Causing them to neglect important topics.

At this time Germans were very busy infiltrating the US society. See my 2 videos

"Concealed Messages: The Allies" on German propaganda.

German snitchers were operating till 1942 and immediately after 1945 relaunched their net.

  • Caroline is a liar. She said she needed a scarf and came down with mittens. That is not the way to popularity.

  • no

  • WEENIE PARTY, FTW!!

  • Why arent the boys who parked in the cars with Jenny isolated? The girls cops all of the negative attitudes some things never change.

  • man i want to fuck jenny.

  • sluts like jenny are popular now...

  • my english teacher showed my class this last year.

  • I was treated like Jenny was because I was a good girl who wasn't slutty....values are upside down nowadays!

  • @dublcheck2 The image of the 1940s-1950s as an era of morality and social harmony is a lie. If anything, the way youth are portrayed in the media nowadays is upside down. The Silent Generation and the Baby Boomers, in reference to the rates of premarital sex, were some of the most sexually promiscuous of them all.

It is merely the honesty of the media in portraying the majority of teenagers that has changed.

  • don't you just love how the girls dress the same? sweater and skirt - yeesh don't they have anything else?

  • @Sugarmoon23 'Twas before the sexual revolution? What do you expect.

  • 4:01-4:25 ...awkward silence?

  • This is the best fucking thing ever.

  • Moral of the story: Whore yourself to become popular.

  • It must be 1947. He said she's "swell".

  • Later that night, Caroline agreed to "park" with Wally and she released her Inner Jenny. Nine months later Wally Junior was born; Caroline had to drop out of Drama Club and school entirely. So girls, don't "park" in cars with boys. You'll get knocked-up.

  • Just say no to weenie roasts.

  • I would invite Jenny to my lunch table. At least she wasnt a judgemental hypocrite like the rest.

  • I thought this was a mst3k video

  • sluts are popular. That's what makes them sluts. Man the 50's were fucked up.

  • 2:14 Because she seems as interested in girls as in boys....? lol NOW we know why she's so well liked!

  • 8:30 wha? That does sound fun!

  • skating party & weenie roast...bwahah!

  • We don't have to do everything we see, everything is just someone's opinion, maybe nothing is automatically right

  • Whatever I like Jenny. At least SHE has a good time and besides who would want to hang around that judgmental bunch of hypocrites?

  • 3:15 "...and perhaps you'd like to come upstairs and look at my etchings."

  • "How does a person get to be popular with a lot of people..." I don't know, and frankly, people are not worth the bother. I would rather only have the latter, "a group of close friends".

  • She's just as interested in girls as in boys. She gets my vote.

  • @connect2reality Haha, yeah I loved that wording!

  • Frickin hilarious. such wierd hypocrisy. basically read "Boys don't want to fuck you unless you're a virgin"

  • holy crap! Ellie looks freaking fifty-nine...and having a receding hairline o.o

  • @joeinparis and the fact that everyone slams after the 1st date ....

  • Comment removed

  • @joeinparis I hope you were being sarcastic.

  • In 1947, "she looks well" was today's "DAMN! She fine."

  • In 1947, your awkward pauses on the phone were filled with a man with an overly-enthusiastic narrating voice saying what you're thinking.

  • In 1947, if you didn't finish your food before the bell rang, all your food VANISHED. That's the kind of economical and ecological sensibility we need today.

  • I am in the process of making a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of thing about this. This and another 50's video.

  • how did anyone ever get laid in those clothes?

  • 'because she seems as interested in girls as boys?'

  • Girls, whether they are sluts or not, always go out with the asshole. They never actively date the nice guy. This video was valid 60 years ago, but it's complete bullshit now.

  • @Yuilen

    This video was never valid.

It was a pathetic attempt at relating to children.

  • @Yuilen

people don't change. Lifestyles do. But we are the same as we were thousands of years ago, when it comes to it.

  • @Rowan07001484 People do change. The basic psychological tendencies of humans do not.

  • @Yuilen

    that's what I mean.

  • @Rowan07001484 Lol, then don't state an opinion as if it is fact. "People don't change". An absolutist comment.

  • I was a nerd in high school. I knew a Caroline in High School. People liked her.

  • Poor Ellie, it must suck being 50 abd still in high-school.

  • Even the school slut's a dork.

  • 'Popularity what is it mode of:Cheese.Really good cheese.'

  • haha of course the dad is reading the newspaper!!

  • Someone HAS to do a dubover of this clip

  • perhaps they'll bring another couple home with them.... that would be fun.....

  • Awe, high school where no one likes the school slut and everyone fawns over the mousy and boring new girl. Isn't that how it always is?

  • skating and a weenie roast? wow- hot diggity dog!

  • Wally's jacket is bitchin'.

  • Wth did I just watch!?

  • 1:54 "Meeeooow, Meeeooow..."

2:39 "I'm a one-man team, that does a job with no glory attached."

  • "Perhaps they'll bring another couple home with them... that would be fun!" I'LL SAY!

  • Flicks like this are more about how ADULTS wanted teens to act, rather than how teens really were. Films like this really did little good because the intended audience (teens) saw what total BS it really was.

  • Boy, what did Carolyn do during her lunch hour that she didn't get a chance to eat?

Heh heh, he said "weenie roast".

Poor Wally, abandoned alone with Carolyn's parents.

  • All those guys going after the same bitch. Cuz she's the only one that is willing to go on dates. And that other one is closing her snatch! Dammnit. So true

  • Wait this episode was made in 1947?

  • how about being your self..who wants to be popular

  • 1:14 jenny: the narator's description of jenny is a nice way of calling her a slut..lol 3 minute lunch..please dads are crazy when it comes to boys

  • Shortest lunch I ever saw.

  • "....because she seems as interested in girls as boys?" I'm not homophobic, but i really didnt expect to see this on a 1947 TV show

  • I was like Caroline in high school and I was NOT popular. Sluts like Jenny had all the fun.

  • @7flyinghecks Ahhh Jenny. She bent me into positions that would have made gumby scream....

  • @7flyinghecks Then again it's interesting to find out how well liked or popular you were really in school, but didn't realize. Popular people aren't always the kids who wear the latest greatest fashions or hair styles etc. Many in my school were the kids who talked to everyone. The football, basketball players, cheerleaders were well liked not because they played sports, but they were nice people. The ones who were popular, but not well liked, no one wants to really be around.

  • Okay, we're out of there...Let me smash you with this snowball!

  • i like jenny ALOT. Scandalous!!!

Carolynn keeps a date calendar for ALL her dates! Scandalous!!

  • i like jenny ALOT. Scandalous!!!

  • i like jenny ALOT

  • I am with the people on here, how did this NOT get riffed by MST3K? This short really needs to be riffed

  • A "skating party and a "weenie roast" with the gang? oh crap! haha

  • "Girls who park in cars aren't really popular."......I beg to differ. -.-"

  • 0:49

"I don't know what it is, but there's something about her you like."

    Crow: "Her breasts!"

  • that wasn't a popularity guide, it was a dating guide!

  • Where da bots?

  • what!? there is no mst3k dub? I thought there was and I was watching it and laughing along.

    Have I gone insane.!?

  • Oh, how times have changed...

  • haha theres milk in the icebox

  • I'd love to roast winnies with her. :D

  • We need more weiney roasts these days.

  • WTF is Teen Town?

  • where Weenie Roast the thing of the 40's and 50's or something? every old video i watch has something to do with weenie roast...

  • this film forgets to mention one's chances of being popular were next to none if you were black, asian, or just about anything other than a rich white christian.

  • What is this thing: Parking in cars? Is it what they do in Red States?

  • Weeeell THAT phone call didn't go on for hours... a pretty sensible attitude towards telephone conversations!

  • Anyone else glad its not the 50s?

  • @joeinparis I agree.

  • Oh, 50's social propaganda.

I'm sure it would be enlightening to take a time machine back to when my grandparents were teenagers and see how they REALLY acted.

  • The best post WW2 social film should have been don't raise your kids to be spoiled rotten little liberal democrats. Should have given the chores and only then a small allowance.

  • reefer madness is better.

  • These kids are assholes. did people act like this? or was it stupid even then?

  • Jenny's a little whore.

  • going over to teen town? really?

  • These movies use the term "weenie roast" far too much.

  • As silly as these videos are...cant help but point out that they didnt have psycho teenagers bringing guns to school and trying to kill everybody back then.

    Just my two cents.

  • @leekenobi21 very true limits were known

  • @leekenobi21 Um hello Bonnie and Clyde!!!!!

  • @TheOfficialOC Not quite. Bonnie and Clyde, as well as John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, Machine Gun Kelly, Al Capone, Bugs Moran, etc. were all products of Prohibition. Bonnie and Clyde themselves were seen as folk heroes....living breathing descendants of Robin Hood who were taking from the rich to give back to the poor.

Plus they were all adult, not some teenager juiced up on angst and death metal.

  • @leekenobi21 Yeah i see but i was just thinking that they were teens when they started!

  • @leekenobi21 No, But because of the craziness of the 50s we got the rebellious 60s and 70s.

  • @hundredand Was it all because of McCarthyism, the Cold War, or the Baby Boom, or even the rising Civil Rights movement that resulted in the white-bread 50s?

  • @Poever What are you talking about?

  • wally is hot as hell

  • @drakis yep bi sexualilty is a great way of being popular lol at least from women

  • In some way these Coronet Films are useful for individuals, ofcourse these films are plain, but in some situations they can tell again something useful and perhaps even interesting. These films are old fashioned and it seems they do not reflect certain problems and circumstances, but they do.

I wish a new more modern version of these films were shot.

These films do help people, make them more confident.

  • weenie roast XD

  • what good would be for me keeping a calendar, if I keep time jumping at random? I could go to sleep and wake 2 years earlier to our date on saturday. -.-

  • I just watched this with RiffTrax. It's much more watchable that way.

  • "Hello, Wally" "Hello yourself"

People were so nice in the 50's

  • @MrCastaLasta Exactly what I said.

  • At 7:37, she says she forgot her scarf, but comes back downstairs with gloves.

  • 4:12 Wally has called Carolyn & 'Implied his Price Range' so she may know what he can afford when she makes her choice? Carolyn likes it better this way too! It's doing the girl no favor to leave it entirely up to her? So, she offers Wally 'The works for 50 bucks'. They'll start with skating, End with a Weenie Roast, and 'Everything in Between'.

  • 1:13 In center is a young Jake Gylenhaal.

  • Not saying the guy at the first of the film is Gay, but everytime he mentions a girl in the room, he sticks the hotdog back in his mouth/

  • "Girls who park in cars aren't *really* popular."

  • @8:35 Her parents found another way of repaying him for entertaining her.

  • @4:30 WELLLLL, that phone call didn't go on for hours!

  • If you close your eyes and listen to the dialogue at 2:472:58 it sounds incredibly dirty.

  • They want Caroline to join their group because they know she has never done anything with anyone yet, and as a virgin she is far more desirable to break in than that other slut who has already been a doorknob.

  • You have to be anorexic if you want to be popular. Rofl.

  • I was doing riffs in my mind while I was watching this. Especially when the narrator said "she likes boys....and girls."

  • This needs to be MST3K so baaaaaad!

  • In a few decades Jerry, it'll be named a booty call.

  • I'm interested in both...and I hang out at the Strand. I must be popular!

  • This is exactly what it's like with my girlfriend and I.

  • "parking in cars with boys" is bad...but bringing another couple home with you is fun...hahahahah. hilarious.

  • So was it acceptable for girls to go on dates with other boys or not?

  • what exactly is the world of events?

  • *looks at the bottom of the screen*

Aw, man...where are Joel and the 'Bots when you need them?

    Seriously, this short is MST3K-worthy.

  • @MissRandomIsRandom At least we have YOU TUBE comments to tide over!

  • @MissRandomIsRandom

The MST3k guys actually have a riff for it, on their website RiffTrax dot com.

  • @checkeredgeek

Seriously? I have to go check it out then! (rifftrax is amazing, by the way)

  • @MissRandomIsRandom Bahahaha, I was thinking the exact same thing, I was like "where the fuck are crow and tom servo". The shorts were my favorite part of that show.

  • @MissRandomIsRandom You seem to have mispelled "Mike"

  • @cbrandom All right, where are Mike and the 'Bots when you need them?

(I personally prefer Joel--which is why I wrote "Joel and the 'Bots"--but Mike is great, too. :D)

  • @MissRandomIsRandom they rifftaxed this

  • Perhaps they'll bring another couple home with them. That would be fun. Giggitty.

  • just remember sex is a huge turn off

  • "know"..euphemism for KNOW-in the Biblical sense.

Carolyn likes Jane-but doesn't care for Dick.

  • "know"..euphemism for KNOW-in the Biblical sense.

  • " Nooo girls who park in cars are not popular...not even with the boys that park with... not when they meet at school or elsewhere"

BTW Carolyn's bedroom wall paper is really scary!!!

  • Girl #1 (attractive) "she's a swell kid." "do you know here?" "not very well...I wish I did. I dunno what it is, but there's something about her ya like!"

Girl #2 (not as attractive as the first) and the guys all ignore her.

  • Did MST3K get a hold of this one? This needs to have the 3 guys' commentary at the bottom of the screen.

  • "Boy what a headache" LOL

  • fucking score one for wally!!! that lucky SOB!!!

  • Well, THAT telephone conversation didn't go on too long!

  • you laugh at this, yet not realizing how hilarious your mating rituals may be to others.

Modern western dating is a bigger joke then this.

  • i don't think wally just wants to "meet" backstage.....

  • It's too bad the "characters" in these films are complete idiots. They all make you want to be unpopular.

  • What if you just happen to be in a parked car? Is that the end of your reputation? "Would you like to wait in the car while I run in and buy some milk?" "No, mother, no! I will come in the store with you. Please don't get out of the car before me! Please!"

  • why do they always say "weinie roast"???
