@playdrums lol learn to spell you ass wipe..and why your at it learn the history of songs and bands b4 you go trying to educate people with bullshit:).....................oh and you might want to buy a decent kit if your going to cover these songs...with that kit you really should be covering duran duran
Wow this is great. Love drumming. Thinking about playing guitar now. But by the time I'm out of college and am making actual money, all of this stuff will be outdated like crazy anyways. Haha.
@Khaosreign I recommend learning multiple instruments man... I started playing guitar around 12 and now I'm playing drums 3 years later... It is fun to be able to know you can own your friends with at least 2 instruments :D
nice cover! am usually against elctric kits as i think they lose their sound but that is one of the best ive heard!! seriously tempted to convert and give my neighbors a break!! bet it cost a feckhin fortune tho... am guesing all in all £2000 or $4000 if ur american lol txt bk hw much!
@Reilly1888 Thanks. Not quite that much actually. I spent about $2500 for it used in good condition, which is still the going rate. I've since got rid of this kit and built a whole new kit though. Check out one my more recent videos to see it.
dude i get crap on all my drum covers. And I just wanna say f everyone that ever dissed this man because he's a great drummer. Nice cover better than what im doing.
Well shit balls... I suppose I could always just run the cable directly into my DAW and trigger it with drumagog/DKFH... I mean, I'm going to go into my DAW anyways, so as long as I make the drums dry from the module, and use my DAW verbs and such, it'll still sound within the same room. I'll have to play with it. Thanks dude!
Well, I'm going to be summing to my DAW for DKFH Superior sounds... Should I just run it separate from the module into my TriggerIO or something for different hi-hat sounds? How "limited" are the hi hat sounds range? I'm sure I could piggyback it somehow...
P.S. they said shipping insured would be like 65 bucks. I'm stoked! Putting it on layaway tomorrow!
By "limited range" I mean that you have either a closed sound, or an open sound, with very little in between. The difference in pedal postion between each is so minute, getting a consistent partially open sound is very difficult.
Already a member. I'm jrhager84 on there as well. Do you think the hat sound would be remedied with the inclusion of a vh11/12? I'm thinking of upgrading that anyways... Just wonder if it's the controller itself, or just the lack of samples from within the module... Thanks dude, you've helped immensely. ;-)
What about with the expanded module? It has that, and I thought that was to address the poor hi-hat range as well? If you could, how much would you estimate the whole kit weighing? I'm trying to figure how much shipping is gonna be... Yikes!
The TDW-1 expansion doesn't do much for the hi-hat range. It's a small limitation of the module. The whole kit weighs around 125 lbs I'd guess. I have a UPS business account and it cost me $75 to have it shipped across the country.
I really hope this goes through. I'm stoked... By the way, was it a pain configuring the hats and triggers on snare/cymbals? Someone said the td-10 can be a pain if you do intricate snare/hat work. Is this true? I'm a HUGE fan of ghost notes... Thought I'd mention.
Ghost strokes are no problem for the TD-10. As long as your pads are triggering reliably, default settings can be close to perfection. The only big gripe with the TD-10 I had was the hi-hat didn't have much range between open and closed.
I'm telling ya: It's a td-10 v session w/ tdw1 expansion including the drum bags, 4 mesh toms, 1 mesh snare, 2 cy-14c's I believe and a 3 trigger ride cy15 I believe. Also has the KD-120 for kick... I've already got it arranged for layaway... ;)
I'm absolutely sure it'd a td-10. In fact, it even has the expanded module. It's used gear at a guitar center store which I won't mention due to I want it LOL I spoke to the guy on teh phone and they are going to offer a performance guarantee that they work. He says they're in good condition too. i think they'd just been sitting for a while, and they want it moved (it's their labor day whatchamacalit even). I'll definitely not buy unless everything works and all is there. Thanks for the heads up
That's cool. FYI...just because the module is a TD-10, that doesn't mean the kit is the V-Session configuration. Since it's a GC store and the price is $1500, I'd bet it's an earlier config. with PD pads for cymbals and the KD-7 kick trigger. Still good stuff, just not exactly the same as the later V-Session model. Have fun with it.
Is 1500 a good price for this kit? I might pick up a v-session td-10 for 1500.. Just wondering if I'm getting a deal. That is, unless you want to trade me *yours* for my acoustic kit!!! LOL
$1500 for a V-Session kit is about $1000 too cheap unless the kit is in bad shape. To be sure that it is a full V-Session kit - it should have V-Cymbals (2 CY-14C's, a CY-15R, and a CY-12H) not PD-9 pads or something like those. It should also have a KD-120 kick pad, not a KD-7 kick trigger. Also, the module must have the TDW-1 card with V-Cymbal Control installed. My point is for $1500, it may not be an actual V-Session kit. But if it really IS at that price, it's a real steal.
I don't know the drums to this song to perfection as I've been listening to Pearl Jam since fourty-five minutes now.. but your drumming was really tight and definitely did fit the song.
I record the video with a camcorder and the audio goes from the module directly into my laptop. I use the snare cracks at the beginning to sync the two when I create the videos.
Thanks for the info. When I find a td-10 kit I will change over to the CY-5.I first have to sell my Yamaha Dtxpress iv drums.Last nights GIg was awesome but the cymbals kept miss firing and it really started to effect my tempo because I was getting pissed. The pads are way to hard also.Don't ever buy them stay with roland. Thanks for your input on the hi hat cymbal trigger.Rock on Brother.
How do you like your new hi hat trigger cymbal? The older roland one was to hard and not realistic was it.? Good move.Played a big gig last night with my yamaha's they suck.I have to invest in a TD-10 kit like yours.Rock on.Oh yeh my foot came back.Peace
It's just great. I now use a CY-5 instead of the CY-12H. The CY-5 is leaps and bounds a better hi-hat trigger. The CY-12H was way too clunky and its edge was very unreliable. If you look at my older vids, I ended up only playing the 12H's bow just like a generic pad. With the CY-5, I can now play the edge like an acoustic hi-hat with very close to the same feel.
You sucked !!!! Just like the banner in front of your set "NEGATIVE"

I tried a VST back when I had my TD-10 but I honestly don't remember if the hi-hat range was improved compared to the module as a sound source.
