listen to how the song starts. listen to it in the middle. listen to it at the end. there is no introduction, tension and release, variation, softness, climax, nothing. these are relatively absolute observations, and i grant them to be indicators of the craft of music. opeth are simply like a really bad, 12 year old poet who is really unsure about how to express feelings. we are talking about shakespeare's caliber here!

That wasn't very funny to be honest. Probably my favourite Opeth song but that was rubbish (runner weigh....weak dude.), though the fact that I know most of the real lyrics is a factor.

I love opeth, and this was amusing. One suggestion though, a few more "Look how good we are at guitar" style jokes thrown into the instrumental towards the end would have been great. Those frames had me laughing hard when used.

This isn't really that great. It's not that funny in slower sadder songs (Opeth in general). Some parts were good, the vulture got me. I'll check some of your other stuff.

I'll be honest, I didn't like it, probably because I'm a die-hard Opeth fan and already familiar with their lyrics. 'The Fig' bit was probably as good as it got.

pretty good, though I feel like opeth sings clearly enough that you can usually actually hear what they're saying, which takes some of the fun out of these alt lyrics.

I'm takin the piss, it's all done in good humour. Opeth are known for their talented guitar work. In the same way that on my Arch Enemy vid I took the piss out of Angela Gossow's evil voice - doesn't mean I don't love the band. Lighten up man

That wasn't very funny to be honest. Probably my favourite Opeth song but that was rubbish (runner weigh....weak dude.), though the fact that I know most of the real lyrics is a factor.

You try thinking of alternative lyrics for that line monkey boy. Ok so that bit isn't particularly hard to hear, but most of it is. As for the humour, well I only write down what I hear, then find pics to go with em, if it sounded like funnier stuff then it would have been funnier.

That was great.. This "interpretation" of the lyrics is pretty nice. Yes, we hear the words clearly anyway (and most of us knows them, that's maybe why) but you did a good job with it. Congratz!

I agree with the other guy that said Opeth is too good to make a mockery of. Mikael articulates the words very well for a death metal vocalist that you can cleary understand the actual lyrics. Funny video though.

I love opeth, and this was amusing. One suggestion though, a few more "Look how good we are at guitar" style jokes thrown into the instrumental towards the end would have been great. Those frames had me laughing hard when used.
