  • dang, that is some high singing

  • Awesome choreo! love this song!

  • Oh, hey JK Simmons.

  • freakin' AWSOME!!!!

  • What's up with eyeballs...............

  • Pumbaa & Timon @2:45, far right.

  • I was fortunate to see this production in 1992. By far the best show I've ever seen on Broadway!

  • I love The 'People all sid Beware' sound and sharp hand choreography.

  • I just realized yesterday that J.K. Simmons was Benny Southstreet. Love him, and this number, and the whole show!

  • NATHAN'S HAIR FLIPS

  • What's up, JK Simmons? How's Peter Parker at the Daily Bugle? Or Juno?

  • This revival was done with love down to the last detail. Wonderful production, particularly the incomparable Faith Prince.

  • This is the best performance of Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat in existence, performed by the best Guys & Dolls cast yet. This is the definition of phenomenal musical theatre.

  • @TaraxElizabeth You may be right. I looked at the rendition of this song from the movie, which is on youtube. Stubby Kaye is wonderful as Nicely Nicely Johnson, but the supporting people don't do much. I'm not sure why, since I'm sure the movie had the budget to do more with this number. It may have been that the movie actors were not as good as the actors here or the choreographer was not as creative.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan I'm thinking in the movie version, they tried to make it more "realistic", "real-life", whereas on Broadway, they can go overboard with the choreography. And I'm loving these costumes.

  • It's nice to see J. Jonah Jameson having some fun

  • The 2009 Revival is The best

  • Is that Peter Gallagher next to Walter Bobbie at 4:02?

  • @2013temple yep that's him. Terrible singer...

  • WALTER BOBBIE=GREATEST NICELY NICELY JOHNSON EVER!!!!! I LOVE HIM

  • Acting, singing, dancing, pace - superb! Tightly knit ensemble. This is what it's all about!

  • now this is an 11 0'clock number, It is a faster tempo, which I love...amazing!!! Bring this version back to Broadway!

  • go general cartwright!

  • the 2009 version pales in comparison. this is the best I have ever seen

  • OH MY GOD, JOHN CARPENTER IS ARVIDE ABERNATHY, THE OLD MAN. Yes, THE John Carpenter.

  • Easily the best version of this song. Bobbie nails it.

  • What a performance by Walter Bobbie and the cast and choreography are magical! Sorry to have missed this one live

  • THIS is why Guys and Dolls is one of THE greatest musicals ever written.

  • Love this

  • best version EVER

  • 3.53-Tony Award Winner Victoria Clark of Piazza Fame

  • best version

  • The color is excellent and so is the clip. I love musicals.

  • Fantastic.

  • Don't forget to look for JK Simmons from the Closer (and many other things) sitting right behind Nicely Nicely Johnson (Walter Bobbie.) He's wearing the dark red and white striped suit. Who knew he could dance? Speaking of dance, this choreography is just BRILLIANT! It is a true testament to the late Christopher Chadman. He was an amazing dancer/choreographer. He will be missed.

  • This isn't one of his early roles. He'd already been around for years and had won a tony by the time this role came along. I believe his Broadway debut was a full 10 years before this.

  • Great video! Thanks so much for posting. Wonderful to get to see Nathan Lane here in one of his early roles.
