  • These guys can't be British, their teeth are too straight...

  • Okay so which talk talk is the band and which is the song?

  • Now I want a bowl of cereal.

  • The first great hit from Talk Talk. Fantastic band from the 1980's!

  • Talk Talk was one of the most under-appreciated bands of the 80's!!! this is my fav track!!

  • great the 80s - best hits

  • These guys opened for the Psychedelic Furs at Canada's Wonderland many years ago. It was a magical evening, outdoor concert on a warm summer night. Both bands were fantastic. Maybe the best concert I've ever been to.

  • @2strokemerc I saw those 2 many years ago in the bay area, one of the best shows i ever saw no doubt

  • This song always reminds me of the scene in the movie Nightshift when "Billy Blaze" is at a nightclub, this song blasting in the background, and he tries to set up the undercover cops with ladies of the night... :)

  • Great tune from the 80s , I should Know I was there

  • This is the real deal, this is the root of music. This kind of bands did not have the need to have strippers performing in their videos to make them popular. All they had to do was to sing and it was a hit.

  • damn good music... it was my chocolate in the 80's and still is now

  • This was one of the first techno-pop hits here in Canada...Great song...I think JD Roberts was still doing "The New Music" with Jeannie Becker back then or abouts....Blue Peter was on the same wave...

  • if it wasn't for bands like this and Adam Ant you would not have your Lady Gaga's or any of that other crap they want to call music... The 80's Rock with innovation and vision... Now everything just seems to be coping the past...

  • @philipcolelive thank you!!! i was a teenager during that time and i agree with a thousand percent.

  • @philipcolelive ..... what you wrote it is so true, they were so original !!!

  • If I could know one fucking piano solo, it would be this fucking piano solo.

  • "pretty techno" meaning "synth pop" obviously, the term "techno" was never applied to any music until years after this song was recorded your stupid literalism doesn't make you look smart pseudo-intellectual buffoon

  • @NeoVictorianX agreed. i'm not one of those genre obsessives but techno originated from detroit as a regional equivalent of chicago house, nothing to do with synthpop/post-punk apart from the kraftwerk influence, yet people use the term willy nilly to describe any form of dance or electronic music. irritating.

  • Questa canzone ha un sound che potrebbe essere tutt'ora attuale!! E dell'inizio degli anni 80 ma sembra quasi dei giorni nostri!!

  • Very intense lyrics for such young mates, don't you think? Music is fantastic, the hook and the piano is fantastic.

  • @myyellowpills this singer was 27 at the time and the other guys were 19 and/or 20 then, so he was a little bit older than the rest of them

  • Now that is a bad ass video !

  • do you really things is a tenchno you're stupid but you're never undurstand anythings stronzzo

  • Talk Talk was pretty techno in their early days.... but there music evolved into something beyond that, something that transcended "80s music". The last few Talk Talk albums are probably as good and obviously more seminal than anything Radiohead has done. But then Talk Talk is great, and Radiohead is great, and 90% of everything has always been and will always be crap. The 80s were no exception.

    *area where I grew up

  • People shouldn't be so hard on the music today and so sentimental about the 80s. I was a teenager in the 80s and the 80s were mostly crap, just like now. Madonna, Starship, Brian Adams, whatever. Radio in the 80s was mostly crap, just like now. I mean how much airtime was Talk Talk getting on the radio then? None at the "Rock" or "Top 40 Pop" or "light music" stations in the area where I grew. I mean, you didn't even know who Talk Talk was unless you were a little weird or something....

  • @NeoVictorianX Agreed! The "80s music" that young people hear now is a highly sifted and curated mix of the best. Just as "60s" & "50s" music was for us in the 70s & 80s. There's nothing wrong with that -- in fact, it's actually better, because it reduces the amount of exposure to crap -- but the bad side is that it gives young'uns the wrong idea that everything 80s is golden.

Do you know the Pareto Principle?

"80% of anything is crap" (regardless of era, genre ...). So true!

  • @bleuroo I think you expressed what I was trying to better than I did.

I hadn't heard of the Pareto Pinciple.... I was kinda paraphrasing something the writer Theodore Sturgeon said (in defense of science ficiton) regarding why there was so much bad science fiction. But I think he said actually 90% rather than 80%.

  • @NeoVictorianX Ahh, thanks for clarifying -- I hadn't heard the Sturgeon quote before. He's probably right -- it's probably closer to 90% now, now that we've got the internet making so much more crap available and accessable and spammable to everyone. Cheers. ;)

  • @NeoVictorianX Well no wonder. You listened to the radio, bad move. Clubs. THAT is where the 80s action were. The music radio dared not play.

  • @NeoVictorianX University radio--places like LA in the USA played this music and others. 80s had more diversity of music than any other decade. 90s was limited and now--iut's all pre fab dance music K POP come on.

  • @NeoVictorianX

Well I was in the army when someone introduced me this band -talk talk and I couldnt stop listening to them day and night. but you right , this band didnt get the proper radio time it should have got. however I dont think the anount of crap you can hear now days

are similar the amount in the 8'0's . I love the 80's and my daughters listen to it too since I was listening to this music loudly since they were small

  • @NeoVictorianX - What stations were you listening to back then? KROQ was around and played a lot of good stuff that got no air on the regular stations.

  • @NeoVictorianX guess i'm a little weird then.... :)

  • i agree with zuber1989 the crap that is pumping out today is crap, we have bieber, rhianna, kanye, and pit bull, wtf is going on i dont even listen to the radio anymore cuz it all sux!

  • I don't know... all I know is that I really like this cut... hellauva lot better than what is out there right now... fun, can dance to it, and I like the lyrics. I give it a big 2 thumbs up. Off to iTunes to buy it... maybe even get the physical CD.

  • Mark Hollis looks about 18 in this. Lee Harris and the rest look about 15. Back in the days when if you had talent you started a band and got on with it, not whined on TV shows.

  • Bitchen song! Long live the 80's

  • excellent

  • Too many people talk talk about stupid things on here.

  • my wife who is 40 loves this cheesy 80s song long before they became mobile giants

  • drummer looks like a young John Cusack

  • I know they need to advertise but advertisements are a big buzz kill. For example on the radio you'll hear at least 3 songs before you hear commercials however most Youtube videos have a commercial at the beginning of each and every song.

  • @davidsawyervlog You're not listening to the right songs.

  • Mark is great!!!

  • Incredible how they moved forward from straight commercial pop to 'alternative rock' in that six year period. Was so impressed by Mark's decision to put touring and music development aside for home - took courage!

  • Has there ever been a band that changed as much as this one did in such a short space of time? They made Spirit of Eden only 6 years after this.

  • @MinotawrTV I know only a one artist -- Gary Numan who switched quite rapidly from melodical style to more harder industrial (or how you say it).

  • This band is worse than Limburger cheese. That's right. I said it. I said it because I'm in a bad mood.

  • bad ass 80s song and still bad to this day

  • best part about the 80s every vocal every instrument style is diffrent even the outfits for each band has a diffrent style ie boy george layers of baggy clothes spandau ballite classy ( but awfull ) suits adam ant depending what song it is more on the dick turbin phase nowa days its wich band looks beutful whos more fashonble ect bring this back

  • @401ashen Exactly! "Never mind the music and vocal, just look how sexy he is!" says the screaming teenager after the concert.

Thanks to that there were no internet (no myspace or facebook hehee) and 6001 channels to watch, young people made their own mind and came out with their own vision and on the stage it was more abot music and less about effects. Now its simple all are just watching and copying themself over and over, the stage is more about effects and less about music

  • Maybe the young folks listening to and enjoying this will form their own bands and take the spirit of this music to make something new. Don't copy it, be inspired by it and make non corporate music.

  • I'm 3 years old and I like this band. Prefer their last 2 albums though.

  • great music, but has anyone noticed how early 1980s videos everyone seems to have took Ecstasy or something, the way they are constantly moving so suddenly n crazily.

  • Christ I'm sick of 18 year olds going around and commenting on 80s songs and saying "I'm 18 and I listen to this!" like they deserve some kind of special reward for listening to new wave just because they're young. I'm young and love new wave/synthpop too but I'm not gonna act all self entitled because of it. There are probably 13 year olds who listen to 1940's music so it's not like your anything special.

  • @HighRiseChateau i would give em a big ole pat on the back because at least there not praising the gaga crap of today. right???

  • @HighRiseChateau I'm 27 but I like it when I know teenagers or 12 year olds are listening to this stuff...at least it shows that they now something better existed than what is being put out today...

Plus they are going to be the future musicians in the world, I'd rather they be inspired by old new wave synthesizers than vocal auto-tune

  • Thumbs up if he reminds you of Kenneth from 30 Rock.

  • ez a kedvencem,meg a slice me nice.

  • PANTIES CREAMED!!!!!!!!!

  • such a brilliant song!... love Talk Talk play it LOUD ! xx

  • @ModifiedEvelyn Mark Hollis is English ya fuckin goon

  • cha cha cha cha cha

  • My friends think Im gay for listening this. I think they're gay for not knowing songs from the 80s, meanwhile thinking that listening to Rihanna and other commercial crap is perfectly okay. STFU

  • @Zuberi1989 There probably conventional thinkers too, at least you like to be out there and different from the others. :)

  • @Zuberi1989 Don't let thatbother you, if it was'nt for 80's bands Rhianna, Britney, Christina and all other musicians wanna be's would not exist today, for the 80's revolutionized the music industry.

  • @Zuberi1989 But then again... thinking that something is gay IS usually a tell tale sign of being a closet gay. just saying.

  • @Zuberi1989 who is Rihanna? Never heard. But if its not 80s then I dont care anyway. :)

  • @Zuberi1989 if i gotta be gay for listening this then I AM A FUCKING GAY!

  • @Zuberi1989 I am and the drummer is HOT!!!!! I found myself in this era and that most of the 80's music is quite original compared to what is played nowadays with a twist off each others songs!!! Right on for listening and keep listening!!!!

  • @Zuberi1989 i know what you meen mate the new songs are crap and they have to get david guetta or calvin harris just the make there song be number 1 and sound better but the 80s music u cannot beat it :)

  • @Zuberi1989 WORD-------I LOVE THIS TUNE AS WELL!

  • fucking quality 80s style. and still good today

  • Oh boy.. this was so bold, so brave back then..... Bless you, my heroes for ever, Mark and his boys, you made my days better.

  • Mark has nice teeth.

  • fir fit him

  • This is brilliant.

  • OCCUPY THE 80'S IN 2011 2012 ......

  • Big Country and Bad Company called and want their schtik back. I remember when it was weird to have a band come out with a song with their name in it. Then hiphop started this trend when you basically read off the credits for all the no-talent fools that are talking on the single.

  • The lyrics are a bit redundant....Good song anyway! Long live the eighties!

  • Kids, the 80s were cracking.

  • i cant see where is the remake of no doubt.. it looks like a totally different one

  • I like this. So fashion.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! I'm addicted to this song

  • i didn't know Cameron from Ferris Bueller sang?!?!?!

  • Mark Hollis = Genius. Just wish I could go see them live one more time..

  • I was in love with drummer Lee Harris at the time...God he's gorgeous

  • I love this song, but the video has cracked me up laughing. I never found it funny back in the day, but I'm in fits here. No offence, I just can't stop LOLLING

  • which came first the phone company or the pop group, you decide

  • Fantastic song!

  • moj najlepszy czas i audycje sp. Beksinskiego..

  • Amazing

  • Every decade is the same. It takes some effort to dig through the #@!! to find the diamonds. IMO, there wasn't quite so much #@!! to dig through in the 80's.

  • @Seiding awesome comment! im an 80s kid trapped in this fucked up world.....what the fuck is Judd Nelson up to.....im so fucking bored, all today's world does is amuse me, there's nothing real, nothing serious, it's all a big fucking joke......Jesus gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth - speaks for itself, i'd love to have this song rigged so it hits tons of people at once, so they can SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!! you turn on your tv, and shit! what a joke, people are fucking machines today with no hearts

  • @ingsterjohansen2

withoutdoubt, it was the best era ever! At least you get to hear it all on YT... one of the best bands of all time.

  • DAMNIT!!!! I wish I lived in the 80's....nowadays everyone looks at me when I play this, they're like, " what is this shit?"

  • @ingsterjohansen2 I was there--Talk Talk--Bowie--Human League--Thompson Twins--Gary Numan.to name but a few--best times of my life---i soooo want to time travel lol

  • @ingsterjohansen2

I was there in the 80's. Just turning 30 and loved MTV! Great videos and fatastic music..so much of it then...unlike so much crap with rap & hip-hop now. Thank God for Lady Gaga and Kelly Perry for bringing a little fun back to music and videos! I'm an old-fart now..but, still have a young heart & mind and still love the 80's!

  • @SugarHillZombie FYI, It's KATY Perry.

  • @ShockAndAwesome1

You're right Shock!...I was up for almost 17 hours the other day...things get a bit fuzzy (like my mind) by then. But, I did mean Katy! (I know 3 ladies at work named Kelly-so, it was an slip of the tongue..uh, I mean finger)...hey! just wait until you get to my age and see how sharp you are online, after hours of sleep deprivation! ;-)

  • @ingsterjohansen2 They were pretty cool. Living in L.A. during the 80's was cool cause we had KROQ and they played all the newest music.

  • This is an amazing song, and the piano solo in the middle is one of my favourites.

Does anyone have the sheet music for it? I can't find it online anywhere!

  • Talk talk were so underated, i remember my dad playing there albums in his car circa 80s. Well played pops.............

  • I hate watching Gaga in the back, in fact I hate watching Gaga everywhere...so anoying...

  • bose? this songs rocks wherever you listen to it.. its been like that since it was created...

  • Ahum....'rest in piece' has to be 'rest in peace' too, oh well blame it on all the excitement.

  • I will never forget Mark Hollis and his band Talk Talk. Hollis, the best composer and songwriter of all times. Jesus, i'm still hoping for a reunion concert, then i can die and rest in piece. That will be a fulfillment of a dream.

  • i dont get it. this all in fun why all the negativity. turning japanese

  • "ALL YOU DO TO ME IS" is a phrase I NEVER registered from Mark Hollis. Great song though!! Many good memories...LOL I still have that thin little black tie....Maybe I'll put it on at Halloween! (Ghost of Christmas past!)

  • Who is the guy playing the piano?

He looks a lot like me. :p

  • Hard to believe this band would make two of the founding albums in post-rock.

  • Awesome... :)

  • I grew up with listening to Talk Talk in the car (and I F*cking adored it) and only now i realize that this song is not about bumping your head into a wall. English is my second language, so forgive me.

  • I don't know why but the lead singer of this band reminds me of the lead singer of the Jam. Perhaps he was moonlighting?

  • Hulu damaged one of my Altec Lansing's with one of their classic 300% 165db loud commercials. When I hear it crackle, I still get pissed.

  • I used to play this song to the mrs A LOT !!!!

  • 5 people can't talk

  • I miss the 80's!

  • Achis!! pablito ruiz con la voz de Luis miguel? Je!! n fin muy buena rola 8ntera!!

  • ...and these are the guys who made Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock.. talk about evolving..

  • zajefajne stare ale jare

  • Hooked my PC up to my JVC stereo system in EXT mode, jacked the bass and volume up and put this video on it was fucking incredible. AWESOME SONG, does Talk Talk still make music anyone?

  • always a great song and video

  • Who are the 5 jerks who dislike this video? COME ON! If you don't like this song, then just listen to another one.

  • These lyrics remind me of my girlfriend

  • @JJmacd women are so bitchy........why? they're fucking GONE today, been that way for years, all they need is a good flying cum shot to their faces, hair, nipples, body, im not advocating rape or anything or physical attacks on women, but mutual consent of a big wad of cum splooching their faces......they dont know what romance is anymore, shit, so many beautifull women have broke my heart, got married, 2 in hollywood just got married and one is pregnant, now im just an old porn pervert lol

  • One of the greatest bands this country has ever produced!

  • Obviously, he's not a fan of having lemon juice in his eyes.

  • I Friken love Talk Talk!! And I agree...Bring back the 80's!!

  • Top, top track. Right up there with 'It's My Life' and 'Life's What You Make It'.

  • foreveralone.jpg

  • MUSICOS DE MUSICOS SIN DUDA LO MEJOR DE INGLATERRA DIOS BENDIGA LOS 80'S Y A TALK TALK SON LOS MEJORES POR SIEMPRE!

  • Its 2011 I'm 45 but my heart and sole live in the 80's.

    Whats my condition called?

  • @aek1928 Your condition is called Nostalgia Gravis Musica Causa Juvenis Adolescentia , but do not worry . . . many of us suffer from it too. There is no cure for this condition, only a remedy: one must keep on listening to the great music of our teen years!!!

  • @aek1928 i got the same condition but im only 23 lol its called bring back the 80s syndrome lol

  • @spikethornenebula LOL wait unti you hit 45 you would be wishing you never got at that age. Oh I lone for the 80's especially the late 70's and early 80's. They were my years. Problem free man years.

  • @aek1928 ....LOL,...just recently turned 45 myself (Lucky I look almost 10yrs younger-lol); but YES....I agree,....and really do miss the music....it WAS a different time with something "exciting" in the air that seems gone now....songs like this bring back SO many memories, lol!

  • @45gunner - Oh, oh the depression of when I here today's music.
