Everyone has their idols ;-) Anyhow its just a signature model, just like the santana or Di Meola Prism that Al Di Meola has done thats all. I guess here Jim is just showing off the custom model he had PRS make.

Jim McCarty is a living legend. He was lead guitarist of Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels who brought you Devil with a Blue Dress and countless other hits, Cactus, The Rockets, and numerous other artists like Bob Seger.....etc....look him up on google if you've got about three hours. He's still playin around Detroit with a new band called The Hell Drivers...Detroit Rock n Roll at it's best! Paul Reed Smith was inspired by McCarty back when he was in Cactus in 1970.
