i like this video i never been in snow and never even been in the wild so 4 me this looks fun but a bit spooky but i think one day i would like to do a trip like this =D
I was so inspierd by the book the movie his stories i loved everything about him christopher mccandless i mean. I was so inspierd it changed my life i so wish i could see that bus it would be amazing to me
has anyone ever actually managed to finish the journey which Chris McCandless set out which was to head down the Stampede Trail and then try to head to the coast? If someone knows please comment back
And what do you defy living ?? I know I'm 19 and started working 5 days a week and this sure as hell doesnt feel like living. Its basically sleep walking through life, everything becomes routine. So think about what actually living is before you try and understand death!!
kavay71 - please, grow up, and until you do,get the hell off of youtube - your just annoying people on youtube with comments that look like a nerdy 11 year old wrote them
the point is obvious - JUST HAVING FUN; cause theres more to life than staying inside and "being safe"
Why are people calling the place where someone died "the bus", like its a tourist attraction now ?, people should make their own adventures, and not live through others, its cool to be inspired yes, but go your own way.
yeah seriously, if anyone who is anyone who was inspired as much as I was by this story, you'd want to go and just take in where it all went down, just so you could match up your own mental stability.....at least that's how I think....
@ojibwaywmn true but its always nice to see some thing that youve heard so much about and see it for your self and see if you want your adventure to be like the other persons
@ojibwaywmn they call it the bus because would "the place where mccandless died" sound better to you? What have you done in your life? Apparently you cant honor lives of people that inspire so many anymore.
i dont get why you just get a bunch of shots of the truck. like some are okay but theres a limit. especially when its pointless and looks stupid. i'd rather see more of the bus then the stupid truck going through the snow.
Hey what is your job?? Im thinking about getting a job in alaska for the summer before i go to college and as an alaskan would you have any recommendations for an 18-19 year old.
Oh my God, I read the book 5 years ago and had been wondering when someone would make a film of it. I am so glad that eventually this story made it to Hollywood. I am definitely going to watch it. It is the best book I have ever read and I have never forgotten about this story.
wow. i am reading the book now and paused to see if anything was on you tube--thats how i found your post mtcaving. very neat but also spooky. you seem joking and collected ---was that to hide your feeling as you retraced the path and thought about alex? something caused you to go out there and connect with the experience. i wish i could. i live in dc but travel for work. maybe on an upcoming trip/ life is fragile and interesting. thanks for sharing your experience! Peter
should be interesting to watch the number of views skyrocket as the movie's released and more people have read krakauer's book. it currently sits at 1,821 views. -dave supertramp
wow - quick reply from the director himself. wonder if sean penn will be as speedy to get back to me on IMDB. good video, sir. the story is fascinating; i finished the book this afternoon. expect a lot of hits.
Somehow I doubt it, although I did run into him out there in the woods a few weeks ago. Be sure to check out the other videos for more views of the area. I have some new stuff coming when I get time to process it.
The driver looks like Chris McCandless. The real one, not the shampoo model from the movie.

@mtcaving well, I think having a scratched truck is way more fun than having a perfectly clean and shiny one!

Yeah, there is. It is also harder to get out there because half the trail turns into a bog. Very scenic.
