I'm glad I stumbled onto this. I'm a volunteer leader of a support group for adults abused as children (USA.) There is, of course, nothing funny about abuse so no one makes jokes about the individual experiences. However, there are other reasons for joviality & we do utilize them because a sense of humor is essential to surviving trauma. PS - I'm enjoying communicating "across the pond" as I often feel a connection to my English ancestry. Thank you for posting & Peace.
