  • u guys r so good good job guysi like it:)

  • is blakelock not one of the best arts schools publicly i halton

  • This is my school GO TIGERS!!!

  • Way to go blakelock! Say hi to lachance

  • I just want to shout out to my girl Danyah. She sings at 1:44 and she blew me away withthe way she sang that part, it gave me chills and she definetly rocked it. This video makes me proud to be a Blakelock student; whether we need to work on ourselves first or not (according to some) I think it's great that Blakelock stepped up and did SOMETHING, not a lot of other school's can say the same. Again, you did fab Danyah and GO TIGERS!!

  • the idea was there but omg this is just way too embarrassing for most of the people in this video...probably should stop singing! But again a great idea for a great cause

  • @Bobert2212 yes some really good singers in this vid but some just need to go haha

  • 4:07 best part

  • funny thing is, i wonder if the people in this vid ever thought of the poor people in the world that make the clothes on their backs, or the ipods they get every christmas as well as all the other things they have at any point in their lives. If ur gunna try to send a message, start with urself. Pisses me off to see people say one thing and live their lives in the complete opposite, completely hypocritical.

  • @firzen711 what is getting rid of our material possessions gonna do to help haiti? throwing away our ipods or cellphones isnt gonna help rebuild their country. us buying those things isnt what caused the earthquake in haiti, so im not really seeing how you're equating the two. you dont need to get rid of your things to donate money and help out.

  • @vvndn throwing them away isnt gunna solve anything. its the principle of it. Were so driven by our material possessions and western way of life that really are why those areas of the world are so impoverished (im not so narrow minded that i consider Haiti to be the only place deserving help or for it to even be the focus, taking a larger picture is necessary) but my point was that you need to start with yourselves before u can hope to TRUELY help the rest of the world. just keep that in mind.

  • @firzen711 okay, but you need to keep in mind that our cause is haiti. and the point of this video was for haiti. im not saying that the rest of the world isnt in need, but i dont see why we cant just take it one cause at a time?

with celebrities being the obvious example, there are many people out there who are "driven by our material possessions and western way of life", but they still take time to help the rest of the world.

  • @vvndn its true you can only take things one at a time, i feel however the only way to really make a change that will stick is to start with our own lifestyles rather than sending some money over which will only be a temporary fix in the grand scheme.

I prefer to look at ways to solve why were even in a situation where the rest of the world needs help, its us that has put them into the poverty they are now in.

  • @firzen711 so you think that it'd be better for haiti if we just stopped buying materialistic things instead of donating money? even if somehow, everyone changed their lifestyles and stopped buying all of these materialistic things, its not gonna fix haiti. i get that you're talking about poverty in the rest of the world, but im talking about haiti losing its entire country. like i said, haiti is the cause that we're focusing on right now,

  • @firzen711 and right now, money is what needs to be donated in order to help them rebuild their country.

PS. i hope you realize that you're sitting on your computer while you preach to me that "the only way to really make a change that will stick is to start with our own lifestyles"

  • @vvndn it is the only way to change things in the big picture, not the small scale of helping haiti mearly temporarily with a bit of spare change.

btw, im not the one trying to act like im actually helping haiti. if u actually do plan on doing somethin, look at the big picture. (my original comment was also to show the hypocritical nature of the video looking at the people in it and how theyre acting like theyre trying to do something, how much u wanna bet they havent personally done anything.)

  • @firzen711 First of all, it's really funny that you think you know what you're talking about. You're not even addressing any points being thrown at you, you just keep saying "look at the bigger picture". Have you done anything to help the "bigger picture" by the way? Or are you just a giant hypocrite yourself, telling us we all need to change our lifestyles, when you've done absolutely nothing of the sort? Either way, you're not smart, contrary to what you think.

  • @MunroeAGoGo i already responded to that, i know im not doing anything, but at the same time i dont pretend that im actually helping. nice as the thought may be. and its true, the "aid" this will provide is nearly useless. it will be a small amount and only short term, perhaps if this was a large scale campaign spanning several years of CONSISTANT aid, THEN it could potentially achieve something. THIS will not. (other than stroke their ego's thinking that theyre actually making an impact)

  • @firzen711 Your logic is terrible. I don't understand how you can think doing nothing is better than trying to do something. Obviously we can't change the world by ourselves, but every little bit helps. If everyone found a way to help, no matter what that was, we could make a big difference. How about instead of telling us we're not helping, get off your ass and do your part. I'd respect your opinions a lot more if you did that.

  • @MunroeAGoGo my logic is exactly that, logic. not a naive emotional kneejerk response. some might think of that as being twisted but no one can legitimatly say it doesnt have logic to it. My main points are this is too little too late for a cause that should not be at the utmost priority. Might sound bad but causes do need to be prioritized by what can actually be accomplished and what the benefits of suceeding are. This cause will accomplish absolutely nothing and u can quote me on that.

  • @firzen711 Actually, most people will probably agree that saying "doing nothing is better than doing something" doesn't have logic to it. And no, I don't think you're twisted, I think you're just trying too hard to get people to think you're dark and troubled with your extremist views about not helping a good cause. Although this may accomplish nothing on its own, combined with other people's efforts there is definitely something being accomplished.

  • @MunroeAGoGo never said do nothing, i said prioritize their importance. furthermore, sorry to let u know but the world isnt a flowery field of daisies and butterflies where we can all hug and be happy, its an unpleasant place so realism needs to be emphasized. Also, if u pay attention, ud see that these "causes" NEVER recieve the funding they require to change the situation they advocate, a few hundred million even isnt going to change the situation. Throwing money at it for food WILL NOT help

  • @firzen711 It requires fundamental changes to the entire structure of Haitian government, social structure, etc. a base of COMPLETE social reform needs to happen to create a lasting effect. Giving food aid is simply a temporary "fix" that makes people feel better about themselves while ignoring the core issues in a nation like that that will prevent it from EVER breaking out of its spiral of poverty and this earthquake is nothing but a media spotlight for a nation thats always been in shambles.

  • @firzen711 The point I was making is that you are doing nothing, where as we are actually doing something, yet you continue to say what we are doing is somehow worse then you. You're still trying too hard to make yourself look dark and intellectual. How about instead of whining about what's wrong with the world, try to actually make a difference? Oh, and I'm sure if you asked a starving Haitian family if throwing money at a charity to buy them food helps, they'd say yes without a second thought.

  • @MunroeAGoGo i fully intend to make my impact one day, i hope to be a politician so that one day i can inact some true social reform. of course if u go down and ask the individual theyd say they want food and water but look for the greater good is how i think, save one, or potentially change a situation so that one wont need saving anymore or can at least pick themselves back up when they do and support themself? ur example is like askin a 6 year old wat Canadas foreign policy should be.

  • @firzen711 You're actually helping prove my point. You hope to make an impact one day, but right now instead of doing even minor things that will help people, however short term they may be, you refuse and instead choose to wait until you feel like you can completely change the world. You may have good intentions, but you still haven't justified your statement that unless we can change the world we shouldn't bother helping. And that was a terrible simile, it doesn't relate to what I said at all.
