The DC Metro's alternating current (AC) motors have a "ringing" sound. It's often mistaken for "gears" because it sounds like gears changing. The same sound happens when the train slows under 10 mph as when it accelerates to just under 15 mph. When it's slowing, it's the regenerative braking using the motors as generators, and the resistance causes the train to slow down. The reason the tones change is technical but it has to do with changing the electrical current being fed to the AC motors.

@saveus444 Those cars in the fleet have a very distinctive sound. They don't put those cars on the ends of trains anymore (because of that accident last summer)...

its because this simulator is free and its dowloadable from the internet and its called bve...............bve and microsoft train simulator are different things. if you want to get get this game i will tell u were to get it
