The Rani's assistant Cyrian is played by Samuel West, who played King Caspian of Narnia in the T.V. version of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and Victor Frankenstein in the movie "Van Helsing."
Oh come on, it's not that bad. I mean, yes, there's basically no plot to it, and some parts of it are quite awkward, but it's the first time that that many companions have been brought together. Anyway, it was to raise money for charity, so as long as it achieved its purpose, that's all that really matters, isn't it?
Susan raises an interesting question in this charity special, when she tells Colin Baker's Doctor I want my Doctor where's grandfather. When the Doctor regenerates does he totally become a new person that past family ties are cut? For instance when River Song meets David Tennant's Doctor she doesn't refer to him as her husband. (the meeting is the 1st time that the Doctor meets River but the final time River is with the Doctor) She only refer's to Matt Smith's Doctor as her husband
@brandoman79 Of course not; the Doctor is the Doctor, no matter what face he wears. He will always be Susan's grandfather. As far as River is concerned, of course she wasn't going to call him her husband. Spoilers, remember? ;-)
that's what I thought, but I know in the Five Doctor's special Susan only refer's to the 1st Doctor as Grandfather and doesn't call 5th, 3rd or 2nd Doctor's grandfather, she refers to them as Doctor like any other companion would
@brandoman79 Actually, the only time she calls him "the Doctor" is when she asks Tegan if the Master is a friend of his, and in that instance I think it was just for clarification. Plus, I have a feeling she might have felt a bit weird calling this cricketer who looked younger than herself "Grandfather."
I know Susan has been appearing alongside the Eighth Doctor in the Big Finish audios, but I haven't heard them, so I don't know how she addresses him in those stories.
This could of been so much more. I love how Jon Pertwee always looks like the doctor but Tom Baker looks gross. Hes not even attempting to be the Fourth Doctor. At least The Older Doctor tried.
@ajfoster517 But they wouldn't need monsters. Phil Mitchell is monstrous enough. Phil Mitchell! BLAAA! Phil Mitchell BLAAAAH! He and Ian Beale..... Eaugh!
LOL at Frank Butcher. Shame they dressed Nyssa as an Earth woman. Weird thinking that Louise Jameson would star in EastEnders as Rosa di Marco a few years down the line.
Is this why everyone hates John Nathan-Turner?

@Smallvillenerd I don;t understand your question. I know no-one who "hates" him, and I've been in DW fandom since 1978.

Nothing like unbiased commentary. "Notoriously bad," indeed! This is a delightful DW home movie.

If you think about it this would be technically the seven doctors in a way.

It's impressive how little of this made sense, it's as if the scriptwriters tried extra hard to make it suck.
