I used to be covered by Aetna. A year from this past November, I had a hearing implant surgery. Aetna payed for 105,000 dollars, which covered everything. I was in hospitals for 8 months in 2004-2005, again Aetna payed for everything.

Yep, my experience is that Aetna is a good for nothing scumball company that uses some pretty creative tactics to try and weasel out of their obligations. In fact, my doctor calls them "AETNO". We go with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Aetna needs to be disciplined with a class-action lawsuit. My impression is that they are engaging in criminally negligent behavior towards their customers-- whether it's ultimately based in apathy or fraud I'm uncertain.
