  • @ 4:02 the kids cheer for their new heroes!

  • i just wanna.. touch them.. I NEED IT

    I WANT IT I, I, LOVE THEM

  • In the beginning: Robert Think its a break and he's looking strange at Jones And Page and probably thinking: hmm ..why dont they put their instruments down .? .then Jimmy started with the intro riff and Robert got a peace of panic and wanted to hurry to the microphone ...he just forgot that there was one more song before the break ..,..things like that happen all the time at concerts..

  • AT 0:25 see jeff beck headbanger!!

  • Robert Plant the show was over. He was fixing to walk out but then heard the killer riff by Jimmy and came back in a hurry. It's True, I have the DvD and right before this he's thanking the audience and everything.

  • @xXXPrinceAlbertXXx i have i dvd that i got when i bought Mothership , but there is nothing about it ..its pretty much the same as this ...? Wich DvD do you have ?

  • @fenderguy97 there is the Mothership DVD and there is the Led zeppelin DVD. The later was released before. I belive back in 2003

  • dammit jimmy show us the fret board so we can see ur greatness ! haha

  • Look how close the audience is to the stage! LUCKY BASTARDS!!!

  • Damn it. They sure put the heavy in heavy metal....

  • If you think this didnt influence some punk bands, have a listen to 'the stiffs' song 'fuck you'..(also covered by DOA).

  • realy hate when people fight on the internet it just show how much of pussys they are

  • just stick with it. I am 41 years old and Led is THE first band I remember flipping out over. Their music is so varied over the years. This song is just my particular favorite of all time. Nothing like having this song on at maximum volume early in the morning. Gets your blood to pumping...

  • just quit fuckin arguing and enjoy the awesomeness

  • The moment I saw Bonzo played, I said to Robert "we're gonna need bigger amps." - Jimmy Page.

  • @MonkeyWildCat You stealing my comments?

  • @brazwen You got a problem that you'd like to address brah?

  • @MonkeyWildCat LOOOOOOL. I meant that as a humour. That want sucks about comments, there's no body language involved.

  • @brazwen Your fucking dumb, learn how to use proper English you stupid Australian basterd.

  • @MonkeyWildCat And you just proved yourself to be racist, and can't spell the word "bastard" correctly. Don't go telling people how to speak English when you can't spell.

  • @MonkeyWildCat O dude, stop being such a cunt. When you've dried up all your tears, please realize that technically you stole the quote from Jimmy Page and turned into a comment.

    Brah.

  • @PBANDSNOW Suck my fat balls you Canadian asshole. Why don't you go play some hockey, eh??

  • @MonkeyWildCat I doubt you have fat balls, because just about all pathetic losers have very tiny testicles.

After extenisve polling, it turns out that golf is more popular in Canada than hockey, and we invented basketball.

Go Cry some more, and when your able, go steal some more Jimmy Page quotes.

    Eh.

  • @PBANDSNOW Ok, but your not sucking my balls yet so I'm not going to.

  • I don't see why the Clash or any Punk rock should be mentioned in a comment feed for this video...

  • i still wanna know what was going through Robert's head in the beginning of this song. XD

  • @SuperPurpledragon "Oh shit where's the mic? Oh god oh god oh go-OH THERE IT IS! Man, that could've been a disaster."

  • @SuperPurpledragon something tells me it was planned, as if to represent a real communication breakdown, but only they know for sure.

  • @SuperPurpledragon BRAIN FREEZE!!!

  • @SuperPurpledragon Or he thought he needed to quickly grab the mic so he didnt come in late.

  • @SuperPurpledragon "IM SO HIGH!!!"

  • @SuperPurpledragon He thought the show was over, in the song they play prior to this he says goodbye, and then as he's walking off they tell him that the shows still on thus the "oh shit" look on his face when pagey starts riffin

  • ok anyone that hates led zeppelin is a fuciking retard that does NOT deserve to live

  • What year was this?

  • @gbop63 1970 my friend

  • Now I truly know how many decibels it took to fill The Albert Hall!!!

  • does anyone else hear the "it's your thing" by the isley brothers in the funky breakdown part at 2:48 and on?

  • I love How Rob freaks out at the beginning.

he's like: Oh Shit What song is this???!!!

  • I've been that close to Jimmy Page - he played in Birmingham in 1987 - leaning on the stage during "In My Time Of Dying" - definitely the best gig I've ever been to

  • the funky part in the middle sounds kind of like "it's your thing" by the isley brothers. JPJ you clever bastard

  • wish bands were like this these days

  • this is awesome..... please forward this video to young people in need of a musical awakening and older people in need of a musical wake up call.....

  • @horse69outside I like how you think sir

  • @horse69outside I'm 15, and i've been sharing this with my friends, i've been sharing this on facebook, etc. but nobody seems to be interested, Led Zeppelin is surely one of my favorite bands of all time, and yet my friends seem to like those repetitive, edited, electronic stuff. How I wish people of my generation would enjoy this kind of music. I would really like to form a band with fellow music lover like me, get some attention, and spread rock and roll. I hope other kids have the same dream.

  • @antinoobtien This, ladies and gentlemen, is a comment brought to you by an up-and-coming genius. Listen to his words, children.

  • Just imagine being that close

    Its a dream!

  • im learning to play a guitar for 6 months now.. and everytime i watch this and many other led zep vids i just think fuck it i just go listen to page he plays a whole lot better than any form of human being ever will!

  • The crowd goes wild!

  • guy in front of the camera put off his glasses before headbanging ;S 3:33

  • I love after the solo when they get into the little groove part of the song, Led Zeppelin live is always the best. I love Jimmy Page.

  • This performance I believe, by its sheer speed and intensity, set the standard for all the punk bands to follow and learn from

  • LoL, watch carefully at the beginning. Robert Plant thinks the performance is over and he's about to leave. I got the DvD to this and right before this song Plant thanks the audience believing the show is over.

  • @xXXPrinceAlbertXXx

yeah yeah!!! LOL hes face say "wtf! still?"

    LOL!

  • i'd let plant touch me

  • and......cue ROARING SOLO!!!!!

  • Some of the only videos i can watch all the way through.

  • my computer just exploded. guess it couldn't handle these incredible musicians!

  • Yeah, this wouldn't sound that out of place on a Hardcore album.

well it would sound to skillful thats about it xD

  • yes, it's punk rock pioneer but it contains fuckin harder beats and feeling than any punk shit in the world!

  • listening to this on the computer just doesnt do justice of how loud it actually was

  • 1:01

    first ever circle pit?

  • @emilysee94

hopefully not circle pits suck :P

  • IN THE 70S IF WERE HIGHER THAN HELL AND HEARD THIS SONG, YOU CREAMED IN YOUR JEANS.

  • Im pretty sure most of those guys in the front row at 1:32 are getting laid

  • 0:12 - Plant's like "WTF? Wait for me!"

  • @FanOfZeppelin lol your right

  • Comment removed

  • How the fuck can you film this in that time!

  • @Mr8bitgamer It's 1970. Not 1940. :c?

  • led zeppelin was so godly that one good song by them spawned an entire shitty rock sub-genre. not to mention they helped start metal.

  • I Had Buy This live CD

  • so much power

  • Thats a nice one! Yea thats a real fine one!

  • even if you've never heard led zeppelin, you HAVE heard this song somehow, someway

  • hahahaha they started out with the song and then got bored haha

  • fuckin' love the kid with the glasse at 1:44 xD !!

  • JPJ is underrated! and somewhat uncredited!

  • @abar1204 yesss, one of the most unheralded multi-talented musicians ever

  • is this the only zeppelin vid where theres 0 dislikes? ^^

  • @SoundMaker76 i just remedied that for you.

  • jimmy page oncredible !!!!

  • robert plants hair is a separate entity!

  • @xnitronx its the same as the album version but when they play it live they dont have the technology to bring the same effects for plants voice that they use in the studio so all old school rock and roll like jimi hendrix janis joplin the doors grateful dead they all have a different sound when they play live.

  • The part about 2:00 in, wow! This definitely isn't in the studio version, what is it from? Just improv.?

  • @xnitronx Yep, just improvisation and it's sad that these jams in the middle of Communication Breakdown never made it on to the first album. The three versions of the song on the BBC Sessions CD have them, though. The beauty of Zeppelin lies in the fact that all four of them are of such musicianship (allowing them to improvise) that not two of these jams will sound alike; so each live version is different. Pure bliss.

  • @eigenvaluelp plus they seemed to know what each other was thinking during live concerts so they could do what they liked (when i say they i mean jimmy page going off on one with his guitar)

  • @PJWTh3R41N

You nailed it with that comment. They did enough improvisation to make it interesting, yet stayed a tight rock band.

  • For you who havent tried drumming to this song, try it. Its like having an orgasm:D!

  • @haxxxxxxzzzor I know, I hate having to clean my cymbals afterwards ;)

  • amazing vocals!

  • amazing quality. thanks for upload.

  • i gotta say, Jimmy's live tone has always been excellent... but at this gig, its just.... amazing... my fav page tone is from this gig. i wish i could recreate it haha

  • @Zeppelindude628 nah my favourite live tone of his is msg 73, might just be sound quality of videos but he gets sucha fat tone. or weirldy enough the 79 show at knebworth, dunno why i like that one.

  • @FRAFPDD ah well thats cool. the reason why i like it here is because it was so rich and raw. and at MSG it seemed more tight. which isn't bad, it sounds really good i just prefer the sound he has here... :D

  • John Paul's tearin it up out there

  • damn, it´s been 40 years today (1-9-1970), need to have a beer or two, then :)

and besides, wish you a sincere happy birthday, Jimmy! Life´s just about to start at the age of 66 ;)

    peace

  • i love how at the beginning robert hears the song and he's like, "oh shit" and grabs the mic

  • the book "When Giants Walked the Earth"

    page's handcuffs&whip for the teens

plus nazi picture inside, very interesting

  • When Giants Walked The Earth, I´d say, is a bunch of lies and crap. It may sound corny, but that´s what I think of it. T´was really amusing, "Hammer Of The Gods" was similar, but more informative to me, and not that focusing on negative publicity like Giants Walked The Earth. Sure, everybody judges that by self, but reading interviews is the best way to gain accurate information bout Zeppelin!

And yeah, Jimmy Page once was clothed with a Nazi Hat onstage in 1980, however- who cares? :)

  • im going to grow out my hair and hope that one day it will be half as magnificant so that i can die a happy man

  • i love at the end how the audience is chanting 'Zeppelin! Zeppelin! Zeppelin!"

  • Comment removed

  • Quite possibly the first headbangers of all time at 1:32 :)

  • @bgbyer it came pretty natural to Robert Plant haha

  • @bgbyer no man sorry but Cream had the first headbangers.

  • @bgbyer

    Uhm. no.

  • @bgbyer Lol no.

  • I love this song! and it's true what SinoLastStand said, this song is a pioneer of punk rock, is sounds a little like the Ramones beat..but of course, this is Zeppelin, so it's better (:

  • probably the best concert dvd ever.

  • It's amazing how spectacularly mindblowing this phenomenon is!

  • listen carefully ,this song actually is pioneer of punk rock

  • I'm pretty sure this song inspired johnny Ramone to play only using down strokes.

  • @SinoLastStand i'm not really a fan of punk rock. they thought there should be no solos in songs. BUT THAT'S THE BEST PART. be it drum, guitar or in led zeppelins case often a keyboard solo

  • @SinoLastStand Fuck You punk rock is nearly as gay as you

  • @SinoLastStand yea bro, jhonny ramone heard this song and said "all my tunes are gonna swing like this one dude!"

  • @SinoLastStand not even. the stooges were the real pioneers of punk. they released their first album the same year as led zep.

  • @SinoLastStand Listen carefully, this song actually is one of the first pre-thrash metal song. You got Led Zeppelin's "Communication Breakdown", Deep Purple's "Highway Star" and Black Sabbath's "Symptom of the universe" and some more( with Motörhead of course).

  • @SinoLastStand: YEP - IT IS, but of course there were also Iggy & the Stooges, MC5 and and and .....!

  • @SinoLastStand

i don't see any similarity, most notably: it isn't terrible like punk rock

  • @Robstailey

If you're saying the clash are terrible then youre an idiot

  • @suim2007 HEY! The Clash fucking rock. Greatest rock band ever...PERIOD.

  • @Robstailey Punk rock isnt terrible at all. It does exactly what all other genres seem to fail to do. STOP POP. Before the Pistols, only pop. Before Nirvana, only pop. See a pattern or do I have to spell it out for the more ignorant.

  • @SinoLastStand

led zeppelin are the pioneers of much more , i love them so much

  • @SinoLastStand 3 chords...?

  • @SinoLastStand

Quite true. In particular the quick downstroke technique used in the main riff is what would later become the inspiration for artists like The Ramones and Sex Pistols.

  • 1:57 plant hahaha

  • LOL Jimmy at 1:23!

  • ~c==3

  • Me too. Me too...

  • PHENOMENON!!

  • lol robert in the beginning of the song....

  • SPECTACULAR!

  • MINDBLOWING!

  • AMAZING!

  • EXCELLENTE!

  • SUPER DUPER!

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • AWESOME!
