  • Why was the US disqualified?

  • I am still wondering why people are questioning this? The race was NOT completed! Every team in this relay must hit the wall before the race is done. A DQ was completely within the rules and should have happened (as it did) Even High School swimmers know this rule and don't do it... swimmers at the World level should know better

  • Australia... TROLLED!

  • Comment removed

  • The female commentator saying this should be excused because the aussie boys did it in 1998, but the aussie boys weren't stupid enough to do it whilst the race was still in progress.

  • To be honest, both commentators are atrocious.

  • I would like to retract my previous comment & summarize it this way: both commentators are beyond atrocious.

  • I've watched this again & I would my comments about the male commentator to his female counterpart. She's just as bad as him.

  • @healyc I would call him either a fucking twat or simply an absolute prick. Inconsiderate cocksucker would be another one.

  • 5:05

  • Something that I do find funny about this is when after the girls find out they've been DQ'd, that the Australian interviewer says 'And Austrailia's Been Disqualified', saying it like it's not that important. lol

  • The Americans were thinking, "Damn! We have disgraced our great nation!" after they got DQ'ed for breaking.

  • I think to call it ignorance is ignorance in itself. It looks like in the replay that before Petria jumped in she looked across to the Lane 1 to see a swimmer finishing and she jumped in straight after. She must have thought that was the last swimmer because she didn't look on her other side.

  • @huzzaah78 well she should have...

  • Gold for GB! How does that happen? Funniest thing I've seen in swimming.

  • the male commentator is awful. "but those swimmers werent even in medal contention..." what an a hole

  • what an idiot

  • what happened to usA?

  • wish I'd been there to see taht. The atmosphere would've been like broken glass

  • пиздец облом )))

  • rules are rules, i hope they learned their lesson

  • what's the ideal height for swimming?

  • so why exactly was the US DQed?

  • has to be pretty hollow for GB, Germany and Japan knowing that the two best teams beat them and they got their medals on a technicality

  • @yourboringshutup not for Germany + Japan according to that video ;)

  • if only the australians were lazy enough not to jump in.

  • I like it haha

  • 5.13 YIPPIEEEEEE LOL

  • Why was USA DQ?

  • @Hksportsman

    I dont know!!! ;)

  • I'm Australian and i think it's fkn hilarious!

  • no need to remove my comments!!!!!! btw i completely forgot about this vid !

  • A gold medal lost to complete stupidity. Aussie girls should have known better. They have been swimming long enough to know better.

  • im british so im happy, yay

we could never do this without the dsq but what the hell, we'll take it

  • Thats bullshit the aussies shoulda won

  • Agree they should be disqualified but what is the logical extension? If you are in a marathon, does the winner wait for the last competitor an hour later?

  • @diggler2002

no, but you dont celebrate by running into the course either.

  • complete stupidity

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! What bad sportsmanship the Aussies showed when they won. What they should have done is wait until the race is over then celebrate.

  • What an absolute bullshit decision! Still they should have known the rules. They won´t do THAT again..

  • 5:01

absolutely hilarious moment watching the Australians TROLLED HARD thinking they won, giving an interview and then lol disqualified

  • "not figuiring in the medal contention"...it doesnt matter...you cant fukin dive in and celebrate before the race has finished...

    even i knew that lol

  • BULLSHIT Australian Swimmers are all doped. The Chinese swimmers are all doped.

  • so are the americans

  • thats cuz americans r cunt so fuck off

  • Rules are rules! They should know better and it was just plain rude to jump in while other countries were finishing the race! If the Americans had dones that, oh my god, ALL HELL would have broke loose and people would bitch and complain about 'arrogant Americans'. During Beijing, people complained when the Americans (after Lezak won by a fingernail) celebrated on deck. Strange how people pity the Aussies here but would crucify the Americans for celebrating! Hmmm... double standard?

  • can u tell me why USA was disqualified what does 'breaking' mean in swimming

  • It's a relay. One American swimmer jumped in before the previous one finished.

  • so the swimmer didnt touch the wall then , i see

  • she touched the wall, but after her team mate had already gone

  • i dont understand what they mean by breaking for the United States? explain.

  • diving in too early before the other swimmer touches the pad during an exchange, it;s common, sometimes one will take an extra stroke or glide too long and the other swimmer will miscalculated the timing.

  • never knew it happened, it was on sunrise this morning. funny

  • yeah!!!!!

    come on GB

    LOL

  • LOL Epic Fail

  • haha the dumb b.tch commentating laughs about the US being disqualified before same thing happens to Aus.

  • Haha that is some epic fail right there.

    AUSTRALIOWNED.

  • This video is hilarious, so funny. It may seem a little harsh that they got disqualified but rules are rules and often the difference between a good athlete and a great athlete is knowledge of the rules (maybe not so much in swimming but especially in sports like soccer and rugby) ignorance should be no excuse if you are a professional athlete. Aside from that it's poor sportsmanship to go doing something like that while others are still finishing the race.

  • @harrow555555 great sum up :]

  • @harrow555555 Totally agree. And I'm Aussie.

  • @harrow555555 Absolutely right - and you'd be surprised about the multitude of little rules associated with swimming. Conforming to all of them, especially the ones that are applicable to when you're actually swimming, is very difficult.

  • HAHA lol her face dropped like a sac of shit HAHA

  • When you have four great swimmers,

like the Australians and U.S. did, it

had to be heartbreaking. I know that

there are rules about jumping in the

water before the race is over, but that

went on the verge of being to strict.

The Americans being DQed at that time

    is still strange and unusual.

  • LOL

  • I'm new to swimming. Why was the US disqualified? What is, "for breaking?" Did they false start or something?

  • @cs24chris

Its because a swimmer jumped into the pool before the previous one had hit the end of the pool. Its pretty much a fasle start

  • I love how Petria says 'what the fuck?' on national tv at 5.06 and there was no buffer to bleep it out!

  • @australianswimming : I don't hear it, nor do I see it.

  • @australianswimming I'm not sure she says 'What The Fuck ?'. I think she says 'Disqualified ?'.

  • @australianswimming Yeah. Here in the U.S. and Canada we have the bleeper. Nice to see that you can express your disbelief or frustration

  • @australianswimming I think she actually said, "what for?"
