You know a couple months ago I did the calculations to see if Griffey would be the homerun king (took the average homeruns per game and multiplied to to the total number of games he missed due to injuries)... according to the data he'd just be a few homers shy of the record. for all those saying griffey has a long swing you are sadly mistaken, you dont play pro ball unless you have a short compact swing... he just clears his hands early and/or extends his arms (which many power hitters do) which is why it appears long, but its all mechanically perfected

My friend griffey has a long swing.

You are mistaken on a few points .One,you do not need extended arms to hit homeruns.Two, griffey drags his bat through the strike zone.Three, you can be a major league player with a long swing. if you want to see the greatest swing look at Paul molitor.There wasn't';t a hitter who was faster through the strike zone then molitor.Also look at Joe d and Barry bonds when he was on juice for short beautiful swings.
