  • can you show us catching crawdads?

  • that so cool !!!!!

  • Ingenious thanks

  • wanna be bear grills

  • nice one, i made one too,but i dont know how to use it. can you help me?

  • @Mega090282 yes i will make a video soon on how to set it. i made one the other day and found a bluegill in it.

  • @hunteddown848 thanks a bunch!whats the video?

  • I got the same knife :)

  • o_O Interesting!

  • ty looks GREAT!!!

  • how do u get them out??

  • Same concept as the store bought minnow traps I use often. Bait em with bread and catch a trapfull overnite. You need to leave one end out of the water just enough to let them get some air or they will die before you come back to check the trap. Usually have several crawdads in the trap with the minnows every time and an occasional water snake.

  • How many crawfish do you catch at a time with those?

  • that one sharp ass knife! ill sharpen mine to see if i could get it that good

  • another good bait to put in it is canned cat food and puncture holes in the top

  • actually the best bait to use is cat food with the food still in the can but some holes poked in the can

  • Prety smart my frined I like it!

  • Nice trap!! Im gong to try that. Thanks for the video!

  • wow i am going to try that

  • i heard dog food works good as bait for the trap

  • thanks for the vid. really helpful.

  • i used to have that knife, but i broke it :(

  • dead smelly fish thats what

  • raw bacon is the absolute best bait for crawdads...when they latch onto it then will not let go...when i was little i would tie a peice of bacon to a pop cicle stick and put it down in crawdads hole..cokme back the next day and you got a craw dad.

  • @Hunteddown848 thaks and good fishin

  • Whats the best thing to attract crayfish. Also whats the best way to cook em

  • @smartman136 i just bait it with worms, but any type of meat will work. and i useally boil them

  • @hunteddown848 believe or not me and my dad by super cheap steak and just cast and you get em

  • I guess the part at the end was showing us how to toss it in the water or the trash in his case after the trap is finished. lol

  • @xllxRUExllx Or how to throw it in the garbage after you make a shitty trap haha

  • I just pick my crayfish up instead of trapping them there pinches dont hurt as much as you think i might make a vidio and anyway what do minnows eat or what should i get?

  • SHOW ME A BETTER MINNOW TRAP THIS IS SHIT!

  • lol i found a bottle in the water not baited or anything and it was whole not shaped like that and i picked it up and there was a cray fish in it

  • lol ginger ale

  • can u make a huge one for bigger fish?? or little bigger?? and how dont they swim out?

  • @USAFBlachawk This is the same concept as the commercial trap and is a very old technique. I see no reason why this would not work. You can make bigger trap for bigger fish, but in most places it is illegal to catch bigger fish with a trap like this because it works so well. The fish cannot escape because they are too stupid to figure out how to escape. When going in, the hole seems large, when they try to leave they look for a large hole and cannot find but a small hole and think it is wrong way.

  • @USAFBlachawk cuz there brain is so small they dont even know how they got in lol

  • yea i want a fish trap like that but not like when you catch a fish with the rod

  • What kind of bait do you put in it so that they will crawl in? I really want to try this kind of trap!

  • @NPSurvival you can use any type of meat, or worms, and cut the hole much much smaller, like, just cut the top off

  • thanks:)

  • i left the lid part on is that ok

  • sweet ill go see if it works

  • does it work

  • u should duct tape it together (:

  • what bait do u use???

  • i have a jacket like that

  • Nice video, nice trap. I have used it in England and caught about a dozen minnows in one go.

I admire your output Hunteddown, but you should listen to one of them. Your diction and flat voice make it very difficult to understand what you are saying. No offence intended,

You can get very good results with a collapsible lobster pot!

  • Dude, this is awesome! I have about a dozen of these I'll set out at various streams in the summertime. I use 3 liter bottle, though, bigger opening, bigger catch!

If you really want more trap space, take a second bottle, cut off the the top & bottom, and put the sleeve between the inverted dome and the original base.

Last summer (09), I pulled a trap and had a 7" catfish (or hornpout) in it!

  • A+ on the trap for simplicity of design. I'll add some duct tape or sticks to hold it together, and poke a few holes in the other end so water can flow through it.

  • we call um crawfish and nice video man

    (louisana)

  • you caught crawfish with them

  • Good job, Thanks for the vid! :)

  • whats a crawdad? do they live in canada

  • yeah they are mini lobsters

  • ohh like a crayfish is what i call them, cool nice vid

  • yeah different names different places

  • Thanks dude.

  • thats a 2 leater

  • btw that is a 2 liter.

  • Decent knife work, you made those cuts pretty straight and clean, but your text popups and summary info could use some editing.

  • cool knife

  • i did that and a snaping turtle recked it so im makeing a wire one

  • a little boy playing with knives."GASP" someone needs a spanking

  • you can catch at most ponds or lakes and some oceans

  • great idea, nice job

  • where do you catch them

  • just go down to your tackle store and buy a $10 crayfish minnow trap. it will last you for ever!! dont forget to check local laws for trapping. dry dog food is great bait

  • to catch minnows you need a smaller hole. the bigger the hole the easyer it is for the fish to exscape.

  • wow what a great vid!!! 10/10! I am so trying that! So that works in rivers too?

  • check out ( Crawdad Outdoors ) we make very good traps and more stuff

  • i know i made the hole way to big, i think i said tht but if not owell, but yea u can make the hole a lil bigger to catch bigger game

  • mate, does it stay in place under water?

  • just put sum stones at the bottem try that

  • cool

  • the 1 litre pop bottles would work even better. the hole is bigger but you cant get as many in there.
