Think the total cost for someone with healthcare receiving this operation runs less than $1000US (mostly depend on the charge for type of room) Of course, it would cost a lot more (about 10 times as much?) for someone without healthcare. (still very affordable if you consider the cost of international health services). Cases has to be selected though. Why do you ask? do you or someone you know need this operation?

This is done with a 2cm wound under the microscope. Traditionally, surgeons only perform this surgery on either the left or right side. With better equipment and an understanding of the neuroanatomy, we can now perform this minimally invasive surgery for patients who have herniated disc on both sides.
