  • Friggin' genius.

  • oh my god this song is awesome! i love the guitar in it its amazing! Go George Harrison :)

  • Harrison's "All Things must Pass" album was stunning for its artistry and power. For me, it towered above the other post-Beatles solo albums such as "Ram" and "Imagine."

"The Art of Dying" immediately struck me as the perfect title and intro song for a Bond movie.

For contributors who expressed appreciation and nuggets of information such as the song being of 1966 vintage, a tip of the hat. For those who engaged in vitriolic banalities, you have achieved nothing and impressed no one.

  • ジョージの強力ロックンロール"ART OF DYING"~のっけからクラプトンのワウペダルが炸裂~渾然一体素晴らしい!

  • dig it.......

  • いきなりクラプトンのワウペダルが炸裂!~ジョージの軽快激作ロック~ALL THINGS MUST PASS

    を彩る!

  • Ive heard that this was actually wrote in 1966,for possible inclusion on Revolver.Does anyone know anymore?

  • @pythongoon

Both this track and Isn't it a Pity from the same album were written in 1966.

Incidentally Phil Collins played bongos on this song. The things one learns on Wikipedia... (:

  • Why is it that on every song i'm looking at tonight, there are assholes waging war?

Anyway, I haven't heard this song before, but wow. WOW. Just wow. This is just... really great.

  • I came hear to listen to a great GH song and I read all of these venomous, profanity-laced posts.

    Shameful.

  • Mark ever comment made by CubanShitStain thumbs down and as spam.

I think if a substantial portion are marked that way, they'll remove his accounts. Eventually, Youtube may even put an IP ban on him or something.

  • CubanCheGuevara should learn the art of dying, :)

  • I grew up next door to George Harrison and my parents were good friends with his parents.

  • SCORE:

JOHN LENNON: Documentaries (John, not Beatles): 63 films , Books on his life: 38, Magazine articles: 19,246 Radio Programs dedicated to him (not Beatles): 871,543

    -

George Harrison: Documentaries: 1, Books on his life: 2 Magazine articles: 13 Radio Programs: 0

  • @CubanCheGuevara you left out #1 hits, I think Harrison has Lennon beat in that category ;)

  • @CubanCheGuevara Yeah, but then again, someone did try to kill George Harrison... So I guess that if that killed him, he would have been okay in your ever-decenting, hypercritical opinion I suppose? And anyone that has ever gotten lung cancer from smoking is shit? Well that's good to know... Jackass.

  • @CubanCheGuevara You are obviously IGNORANT of the brutal stabbing attack that George suffered in his own home. Knife wounds punctured his lung, and that lung is where the cancer took over. Get your facts straight, CUBAN - YOU ARE THE PATHETIC ONE !!

  • @sokolatwins - My dear, George died of THROAT CANCER. Not LUNG-CANCER. It was directly caused by years of chain-smoking of which Mr. Harrison refused to quit. It is not a small error, considering your call for STRAIGHT FACTS.

  • @CubanCheGuevara

Ahah, no he didn't, you lying piece of uneducated, unloved, driveling refuse. You are so quite sad; a high school dropout living in is mom's basement, living only by attacking others from the safety of his computer screen.

George Harrison died of THROAT CANCER. See, don't try to bullshit. ONLINE as we can all look up the facts ONLINE if we can see your drivel ONLINE.

Assramming moron, lols. Now run along back to the institute for your sessions and anti-hallucinogens, k?

  • @CubanCheGuevara

    Documentaries info on John: BS

    Books on life: Plausible

Magazine articles: Plausible, but likely BS

    Radio Programs: Utter BS

George Harrison info all BS. I found at least 20 books on Amazon already. The rest is BS.

Main reason behind John's popularity is his political activism and murder. He honestly would not be a third as popularized if he died yesterday. Likewise, if George died in 1972 after All Things Must Pass, he would certainly be more popular than Lennon.

  • Whoa heavy comments chaps, relax and have a cup of tea.

  • Whoa heavy comments chaps, relax and have a cup of tea.

  • this is why george is my favorite Beatle hes always so full of life.

  • rip george ,hope u have a guitar wherever u are. hare chrishna

  • I love the base on this; cool song I never heard before.

  • While listening to this, I can just imagine some epic James Bond-type car chase going on.

  • 2 people don't know the art of dying. :(

  • @1010Beatles maybe because they're alive?

I get what you mean, but you could have done better lol :)

  • His idea of dying, I suppose, was to SMOKE yourself to death. My goodness, how "spiritual" of George.

  • @CubanCheGuevara oh come on he lived to be an old ass man, i betcha boy che guevera smoked his face off too

  • @CubanCheGuevara OK, OK, I definitely see your point. I don't know a lot about it, so forgive me, but didn't he put a lot of effort into raising awareness and money for people suffering in third world nations? I.E. Concert for Bangladesh? He was an immensely talented artist and I think that for that alone he deserves an immensely comfortable lifestyle. Just my opinion. Give infinite amount of pleasure to people's ears, get a high standard of life in return? Sounds like even karma to me.

  • @306ness - If his fortune sounds like "karma", what are we to make of his wicked stabbing and his painful death from throat cancer? Can we keep religion, myth and folk tales out of this? Otherwise, I'm going to have to send my invisible 6ft rabbit after you!

  • @CubanCheGuevara haha only meant i can see how he could have lived with himself, being he must have been one to believe in the power of karma... had no idea about the stabbing!

  • @CubanCheGuevara At least he didn't waste his time trying to save the world by lying in bed for days with a hideous wench just to get more face time on T.V. LOLLLL

  • @CubanCheGuevara His fans don't care because we realize that he, like anyone else, was not perfect.

As for the plagiarism, who knows if it was intentional? Just speaking as a composer myself, we often get tunes stuck in our heads that we think are original but are actually from other songs we've listened to. I had it happen once with "America" from West Side Story. Also, just because the melody is the same doesn't mean the song can't be different in other ways - lyrics, for starters.

  • @CubanCheGuevara why dont you take your cuban bull shit and go fuck yourself withit somewhere else? the simple fact that shameful coward ass losers like you dont realize is that he could not go anywhere without being pestered. he bought friar park so he could live in his garden and home which he never left. if you were a decent person, youd realize he has every right to make purchases with the money he worked his fingers to the bone for. people like you are are just the bane of existance.

  • @blessiththechily - Let me ask you this: If you

felt that FAME had ruined your PRIVACY, would you go all over the world giving one interview

after another COMPLAINING about it? I mean

LOOK AT HIS INTERVIEWS HERE AT YOU-

TUBE! The man is everywhere! How SERIOUS

can he be? Everything about George is a contra-

diction. Which means you should, in theory really

like me! You see, I'm not really "Cuban". Heck,

not even Che Guevara was "Cuban" (you DO know

who Che Guevara was, don't you Opie?).

  • @CubanCheGuevara listen, i dont care about you or your stupid ass opinion of someone you didnt even know. do you know how many people wanted him to always be on their shows?? he did it as a courtesy, he didnt have to do shit for anyone or anything. maybe when you develop a brain and think beyond your own selfish viewpoint, youll realize George was just another human being, not the icon the world idolizes him as.

  • @CubanCheGuevara . just because hes famous doesnt mean he has to indulge every single person whos a fan of his. hes got every right to his privacy, and the things he worked for, but either way, your a bit of a fool to talk so shamefully about someone youve never even met. considering you call yourself the cuban Che Guevara, makes me really dislike you, because you said yourself your not cuban, and with the che guevara bit it probably means you wish YOU were a revolutionary who changed the world

  • @CubanCheGuevara when in reality your just a sad failure of a person jealous of George for being one for just being himself. and you hate yourself for it, so you find faults with the successful ones. in a way your kind of a creep like mark chapman!! fuck you and the cunt who gave birth to ya

  • goosd stuff, whatever his phylopshy he is one now with the CREATION that WE are part of, huh?

  • En las sesiones de grabación del álbum participan: Ringo Starr, Jim Gordon de Derek & Dominoes, Gary Brooker de Procol Harum, Klaus Voormann, Carl Radle de Derek & Dominos, Ginger Baker de Cream, Gary Wright, Dave Mason de Traffic, el batería Alan White (yes), miembros de Badfinger, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston y también en el tema "Art of Dying" particpa Phil Collins a la percusión.

  • @SuperChahuistle peter frampton also played.

  • Oh, how I love him.

  • Comment removed

  • I just heard this and its pretty good! ;)

  • HARE KRISHNA, GEORGE....

  • this is a kick ass song especially the guitar solo and the drums XD

  • Alan White is the drummer.

  • @Jackaranda77 >< IT WAS YOUNG PHIL COLLINS ON DRUM.

  • @55mautak No, Collins did the bongos.

  • @RazrHack ...Thanks..

  • @RazrHack Congas...but, in a sense, long, tall bongos...

  • @Jackaranda77 It ain't, it's Phil Collins, before he joined Genesis

  • This is why he's my favorite Beatle. Pure Genious man.

  • amazing drumming

  • im ten and for my report card i BEGGED my dad to buy this CD. this song and Apple Scruffs always made me sad about never getting to see him in concert. so far i saw Tom Petty the guy from the wilburys. so sad he DIED!!!!!!!!!

  • @musicjunky713 i hate beinging born and raised in the wrong century i wish i was around for all of this

  • @Link71596 It's still here for you too. Some experiences come along and just stay. It was then and it is now a state of mind that can be embraced and lived. Disregard the drugs because they are a dead end and only take your health and money and freedom. The love never dies though and the music is as wonderful today as it was then. Enjoy it. Share it. Make it.

  • @50esscee267 I love how u think

  • @1969ive Thank you. Too kind.

  • Definitely one of George's best songs and i love the intro and ingenious use of the Mexican horn section.

  • i freaking love this song, this one of my favorite songs from george Harrison my favorite is Something then While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Art Of Dying is pure rock

  • With out a doubt my favorite cut off this album!! George is sadly missed!

  • best solo album by any beatle. :)

  • @WeirdFreakyAlien you are soo right

  • @WeirdFreakyAlien

best solo album by any beatle and the most talented beatle aswell

  • @WeirdFreakyAlien I would pick Lennons Imagine. But this is a great album too!

  • @WeirdFreakyAlien idk about that.

Imagine was really good by john lennon.

band on the run may not have been a solo album, but its definitely a very good post beatles album by mccartney.

and then Ringo's Ringo is a stellar album which had contributions by lennon, mccartney, and harrison.

im amazed you were able to pick out a best solo album cuz they're all so damn good that they're all tied for best in my mind. But i am glad to see you like this album the best :)

  • wrong it wasnt phil collins it was jim gordon

  • @ThePhillieschamps easy man, Phil Collins played percussion (bongos) on this track, but not the drum kit

  • Did you know that phil Collins played his drums on this song.

  • This is Alex Turner's fav. tune currently. Sweet tune! I just realized that every damn one of the Beatles had a killer voice. Ringo too. Guess that's why they go down as the best band of all time. They were.

  • i love how you knew that, thats why i even checked this song out again

  • @JohnnyTemptation Great minds think alike man! 8oD

  • I remember as the beatles became more and more popular and the talk of the genius of Paul and John. After the break up and George came out with this album it showed me who the real genius was. R I P George Harrison

  • For real I think this is my favorite solo beatles album

  • yeah its pretty good man. lets call a truce ok. I was wrong to start a dust-up with you. I am a troll myself! in real life Im not.

  • If there are any Hindu radio stations, this would get lots of airplay.

a damn fine album in general from the best Beatle.

  • You even have a retarded music taste

  • Argug1, fuck off you You Tube stalker. Go back to trying on your mommy' clothes even if you aren't man enough for them eat shit and die, mot

  • nah I just checked your profile and this sucks, John and Paul was greater artist then George get over it

  • no, they were more mainstream popular. this song hardly sucks. go listen to paul's inane pop and compare. john i agree with you.

  • John is huge and always will be in my senses

  • wtf does my profile have to do with George Harrison anyway?

  • you have this as a favorite??
