Nothing against Ellen. I don't agree that she should judge on Idol. The greater question is why Ellen was chosen. She was chosen solely due to of her sexual orientation, to stir up the media. Nothing to do with judging singing. A judge MUST have a high level of experience & SUCCESS in the industry (i.e.Randy,Paula,Simon) It's difficult to maintain the level of success that Idol has achieved. The producers must feel the more press the better. It's likely the show will fade after Simon anyway

Simon isn't really qualified to judge singing either. He has admitted he cannot read music. He does not write music. His comments seldom have anything to do with music but how the contestant is coming across. He knows how to be successful commercially by signing bland pop acts we've all seen a million times. I think Ellen's comments will reflect what normal people at home are thinking as opposed to what overpaid music biz. officials are.

I was, as I'm sure others were, NOT watching this season's show, because I just can't take Tara's Big and LONG winded mouth, and her attitude. She really has a high opinion of herself. But Ellen, as a new judge, does it for me. I'll do as I did last season, when Tara flaps her gums, my TV goes on mute. I will miss Paula, the producers HAD to get someone BIG to replace her. All the people saying "she doesn't have muscial experience" whos cares! Do you? Does every American Idol voter have to have musical knowledge and experience? Are their opinions invalid because they don't? NO! Ultimately the winner is decided by millins of people who don't have musical backgrounds, so why does a judge have to have one? Do you always vote the way the judges say or something? If you just hate Ellen ignore her opinions

its good that ellen is going to be a new judge. american idol doesnt need any more judges with music experience and whatnot because all they look for is people with perfect voices thus making everyone on the show sound the same.. there are plenty of other people that have amazing and unique voices that the judges with music experience probably wont like but ellen probably will... american idol is going to be completely different now that ellen is on board!

Simon isn't really qualified to judge singing either. He has admitted he cannot read music. He does not write music. His comments seldom have anything to do with music but how the contestant is coming across. He knows how to be successful commercially by signing bland pop acts we've all seen a million times. I think Ellen's comments will reflect what normal people at home are thinking as opposed to what overpaid music biz. officials are.

Ellen is in the "world of show" and knows what looks good and sounds good. You don't have to be an expert in music, films, different kinds of art to be able to decide what you like.
And I think what bothers you the most is that you feel it's unfair that a L can be this successful, happy and beloved by thousands of people.

YES that's exactly who I meant, Kara, the show was much better with 3 judges. Especially with Kara being the 4th, she ramblies, on and on, she drives be nuts, as I said, I always put my TV on mute, when she opens her mouth, I don't have any interest in what she as to say. She knows the show always runs of time, since she takes so much time giving or long winded opinions, doesn't seem to bother her !!!!!!!!!

I was, as I'm sure others were, NOT watching this season's show, because I just can't take Tara's Big and LONG winded mouth, and her attitude. She really has a high opinion of herself. But Ellen, as a new judge, does it for me. I'll do as I did last season, when Tara flaps her gums, my TV goes on mute. I will miss Paula, the producers HAD to get someone BIG to replace her. They wouldn't mess around with Simon, cause if he left, their would be no American Idol.
