@thejazzmasterx Just because it's difficult to play on the sax, it doesn't have to sound good. In Redman's case, it does sound amazing though!

Also keep in mind that many people who aren't familiar with jazz music will find a tune like this very abstract and weird listening to!

It's slap-tonguing. Just google that and something useful should come up. You're basically flattening your tongue against the reed and creating a vacuum-seal effect. Then you sharply pull your tongue away from the reed and blow a "paa-" of air at the same time to create the tone while the popping effect is affecting the reed. If you want to hear more, James Carter does it all of the time.
