The weather is cool/chilly, the college is out so there are not thousands of students walking and driving around and the traffic is not nearly as bad as the rest of the year. South of Broad is decorated and looks beautifu. SO if you want to enjoy Chas. you should visit close to Christmas.

It is an amazing place to live. I grew up with some relatives there. Its beautiful, its safe and its not too expensive (unless of course your in a really good district or the historical district) but dont depends on commenst saying that if it just fell off the map... I was hooked and like you said it's magical. Whenever I hear someone simply say Charleston, SC I immediately conjure memories of walking downtown, horse buggy rides, historic tours and fine dinning. I've gone almost every year since 1998. I'm lucky to be only 3 hours away. I truly love Charleston,SC {:>)
