If my memory is correct, this commercial was shown on two consecutive Christmases. They were 1978 and 1979.

I love this! It is so sweet. Commercials back then had more sentiment and were "real" whereas today they are so "commercialized!" If that makes sense. ;)

What I think...is that if I moved to a predominantly Muslim country, I wouldn't expect them to change their customs and beliefs to accomodate me or to be "politically correct." In the US and Canada...we celebrate Christmas (as a whole..some don't, I know)...so if you move here from another country...you're expected to deal with that. Just my two cents.

Wow I can't beleive they said the word "Christmas" in this commercial. THEY EVEN WISHED THE CUSTOMERS MERRY CHRISTMAS! They wouldn't do that today in a McDonald's commercial if they had a gun to their head!

What is wrong with saying "Merry Christmas" in the commercial? Are you suggesting that it would be insulting to people who do not belong to religious orders that celebrate Christmas? I think that a lot of people go a little bit overboard in their efforts to keep religion out of the mainstream of things.
