  • @Tempo2010

he said "i was Kneading the dough get it i was Knee in this dough, long as ya math is fast if ya reading is slow."

see sir, by reading he actually ment reading, the word kneading is used when dealing with bread dough. Kneading dough is the art of stretching the bread.

if you read books, hov's lines have so much depth.

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite line.

    Why?

Yesterday I was needin/knee in this dough. [Deep in the money]

Get it? I was kneadin/needin this dough.

  • I thinkin he meant needin this dough like needin the money and kneadin this dough like makin bread, either way, its sick

  • yeah jay iz sick. a lot of people diss jay and say hes not that good. real hip hop heads who know his album tracks know jay can get deep. he'll be more respected in death like biggie, pac, pun and big l.

  • That's true! Biggie and pac walked the walk but jay fineshed the walk.Jay set the standard for rappers as entrepreneurs.

  • The beat gives me chills man. Anyone got the instrumental?

  • i think it's just "Dead Presidents" in reverse

  • wow lol good call

  • Yo. PM me download?

  • truest shit ever... getting that shit was a privilege... if you aint a fan of the good shit your ears should just shut down for the 1 min 48 seconds it plays but everybody needs a little of that in their life lol

  • @Starrskee I didn't buy reasonable doubt when it FIRST dropped and still "get it"... Just sayin'...

  • @Starrskee True that. you can see how he went from " the point gaurd of your favorite team" to " like lebron or sebastian:

  • lol at Deidrian comment i bet its true

  • This is probably a mixtape track.

  • it think this is going to be on his new album "the blueprint 3"

  • Nah u cant say that jst cuz it sounds fresh cuz u aint heard it b4. One beat doesnt make an album dawg.

  • i agree wit mannythefirst

  • ha he has heard i before its just the original dead presidents beats played in reverse lol check out Anonymous Wine Theory if u like this u should like that

  • My president is LeCH Kaczynski !

  • all i gotta say, WHOS GOT THIS INSTRUMENTAL???

  • O.C. YOU AND YOURS

  • Kneading this dough/Needing this dough.

Hov uses so many double-entendres and subliminals, you need a dictionary full of homonyms to understand what he's spitting. Nonetheless, DP3 is reminiscent of classic Jay material. Beat is laidback and chill unlike most of this ring-tone rap these days. I wonder if Irv Gotti produced it like he did for Jay's first LP? Any case, I hope and anticipate that Blueprint 3 is as thoughtful and timeless as this cut.

    "Washingtons go to wifey..."

  • my nigga i thought he said yesterday i was knee in this dough, get it, i was needing this dough

  • the AZ line is dope. Big ups to BK's own AZ aka Sosa aka The Visuliza aka 1/2 The hardest out.

  • Ski made the original DP beat.

  • yup...back then I first heard it.aint gonna lie(lye lol)I didnt NO whay kneading meant.now pretty much when Iam round my boys I call myself the homophone king

  • Comment removed

  • Washingtons go to wifey, you know how that go... haha thats what AZ said on "The Genesis - Nas" Jay is so ill, and mad niggas sleep on him.. I don't get it.

  • sick

  • this goes hard stop hatin

  • american gangster is a classic album and he really aint sellin out to nobody. this is the soudtrack to a movie that he was asked to do if you dont forget. If you listen to the the beats and the music you realize it gives a 1970s harlem renaisance old school jazz type feel. Thats bacasue that relates to the movie. He mentions verious rappers in movie that imitate gangsters including Frank Lucas's. That album is perfect for what its for

  • something not quite right about this shit

  • i take that back shit is dope

  • I agree, it's DP1 all over again pretty much.

  • The goal for young rappers is to come up and get out of the game and better yourself. Jay got out became a better person and niggas be bad mouthin. He's on top no matter what anyone says!

  • This is pretty good, but 90 percent of the song was like the original, with just a few new lines and a little different beat.

But it's all good, I love that Jay-Z old school shit.

  • starks said it. jay is still the hottest rapper out in my opinion but you gotta admit his flows ain't as hot now as they were back in that late 90s and early 2000s. he was hungry back then (not for money, but to blow up, cuz dude was already rich before he was rapping) so he put all his heart into his flows. now that he's almost a billionaire he still gives you good music, but i don't think he puts his whole heart into it like he used to. i like this joint tho

  • Jay Z is in my opinion the most talented rapper in the game. What I dont like about him is that he always goes for whats appealing to the mainstream, 92 jay is different from 99 and 99 is different from 01 and now. So even though he got skill, he aint shit to me. Nas said it metaphorically: "Whats sad is I love u cuz u ma brother u traded ur soul for riches"

  • I don't get it.. American Gangster album is in no way appealing to the mainstream, right? Yes he changes his style, but so does everybody. There's not a single consistent rapper, first album is always the most "hungry" album, like with movies, name at least one trilogy where 2nd and 3rd part are decent. And Kingdom Come was below Jay's level in my opinion, but he's stilla dope rapper.

  • Are you seriously saying it doesnt appeal to the mainstream when FRANK LUCAS was the talk of town?. N no rapper stays consistent because then he would become "old school" you are right, But one thing is keeping your essence and another is changing it to what the mainstream wants to hear. Like Jay Z in swagger like us.

  • "Party Life" and "Say hello" from american gangsta aren't mainstream and Jay-z puts a whole new sick style to it. Rappers evolve. He been there and did that style. He's going with the flow. If he'd stayed with the same style he'd be forgotten like other rappers.

  • Exactly... he'd be forgotten by who?? the mainstream listeners. The so called forgotten rappers u talking about dont make the cut because they dont fit that POP mold. N u mention two songs and expect to persuade me that Jay Z is not a mainstream rapper... Please..

  • I'm not really concerned in that consistence talk because it's a matter of opinion anyway. I've read on some site, don't know if it's true or not, that the crew that was making the American Gangster movie was thinking about inviting Jay-Z to writing the soundtrack to it, and that the reason they didn't do that was that preconcieved image about Jay-Z and his style. I like how DMX raps about the same things, but there's some old and wise hip-hop heads calling him incosistent so, opinions may vary.

  • I hate to compare... but look at Nas. He changed his style but his essence doesnt change.

  • Nas doesn't give a shit about corporate Jay does it's preference. They have both changed their styles and Nas was just as corporate as Jay at one point. Let's not forget Owe Me Back, Hate Me Now, etc. What's the point in being an artist if you can't grow and try different things. Me personally if I purchase your your album and it sounds just like your last you'll never get my money again.

  • that beat is the original of another i just cant get the name ill find it soon

  • Not hatin but i really aint feelin dis...part 1 and 2 and classic buts this?....not so much

  • Nice, old skool feel, I love it.

  • damn beat is crazy 90 things flyin threw my head...love it!

  • this has great potential...

  • likin the beat sound like the instrumental from xzibits papparazzi a little bit

  • The BOI HOV BEST RAPPER ALIVE....AND BEST BIZZNESS MAN TO ENTER THE GAME..

  • seriously? please dont tell me youre lieing.

  • nice mix..
