This is one of the best Kennedy Centers Honors tributes I've ever seen. You can just see Pauls's face light up when ever someone came onto the stage :) All of the performances were amazing.
About Steven, this is the best performance of the evening. Have you seen the standing ovation and all the smile when he came in. He is SO HOT, has his own style and i just love his voice. Watched him at Oprah , Arin is not a good match, but i wish him the best !
Gwen Stefanie and Nora Jones woulda contributed much more to the show had they just been making out in the backround instead of butchering awesome songs
Beautiful. That's when you see how wonderful Paul's songs are. The'll never be forgoten. And gosh... And James Taylor was singing Leti it be with that woman (sorry, i forgot er name) we was abou t to cry... So sad. Breaks my heart to see him this way.
Im crying, literally crying,I hadnt cried this much since my grandma died.I want to see the Beatles in concert, the 4 of them,John,Paul,George & Ringo.I want to marry Paul Mccartney, even though he is 56 years older than me,I want to go to his concert,if the Beatles gave a concert in Heaven I would die to see them. I want to see John Lennon now, I wish I was born in the 60's but, then again I was not.I will have to stay here,in 2011.Because there isnt much a 13 year old can do

To listen to my two absolute favorite performers, Dave "His Grohliness" Grohl and Steven "Mt. Rockmore" Tyler throw down on some of Sir Pauls finest was absolute and pure joy! Thank you, Paul for the masterpieces you have left behind.
@onlyGiovanni Golden Slumbers, is one of the songs that make up the Abbey Road Medley. the Abbey Road Medley are the last 8 songs on the Abbey Road Album, each song ends on the same note that the next starts, so basically it takes the last 8 songs and makes 1 big song. the Abbey Road Medley starts on "You Never Give Me Your Money" and finishes on "Her Majesty."
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting. I'm on a 2-day Beatles/McCartney/Wings high right now. I didn't even know this took place. I guess I've always loved these songs but didn't fully appreciate them till later.. Thanks again gotta binge some more! :)~
You notice that the people in the audience that are pushing 60 are grooving with the 20 and 30 somethings. Beatles will always be the best of the best. Amazing!
To put it plainly Gwen may be hot but when it comes to a performance that stayed true to the beetles classics, Steven Tyler stood far beyond No Doubts performance, plain and simple. Tyler has had his ups and downs, is twice the age of Gwen and just a better all around performance. The so called offtones on the original Penney Lane track, are you serious? This is the simple harmonies that were recorded on the track. Plus, Lennon never performed a Paul McCartney song live. If you have one share it.
Brilliant performances by every one, a tribute to one of the most amazing musicians every to have rings our ears with the veribal tones ever known to man...Great job to all...
Gwen Stefani is good friends with his daughter Stella and was asked to do this performance because of her close relationship with her and also because no doubt is an amazing band in their own right. its a tribute to him and i dont think tributes are supposed to sound just like the original but use their own artistic values to honor the Originators. Dont be so cruel. I didnt 100% enjoy Steven Tyler's yelling but i would never saw hes unlawful or hazardous to the songs he sang
@sr2388 It's not that it wasn't the Beatles, it was that it sounded horrible. She took Penny Lane and she murdered it. I feel sorry for Paul, seeing as he had to sit through that.
@TheAerochick13 Why would you feel sorry for something you don't know. Looking at him he pretty much reacted the same to all the performances. Either your a mind-reader and knows that Paul hated the performance or your just being a douchbag.
@blackhills777 Wow, a douchebag? Way to be original. I don't see many reasons why McCartney would like the performance. Her vocals were shakey and just plain terrible. There really isn't any way around it, unless you're deaf.
@TheAerochick13 I'll admit her vocals weren't perfect. But The Beatles weren't all so peach perfect either. I can't count how many times Penny Lane was ruined by Paul McCartney or John Lennon messing up on they're on lyrics for vocals, even in the original track you can hear some offtones off of their voices. Half of the performers in the tribute (ex. Steven Tyler) really were even more shakey and even more terrible then Gwen Stefani.
@blackhills777 Yes, I have to agree with you. Steven was the only one who really did a good job on his performance. But Steven does have about 40 years of experience behind him.
@TheAerochick13 both of you just shutup!!!!!!!!!!! Let me enjoy his beautiful music,God!! Paul McCartney is my hero and you are just blabering and wyning about the show, his music, whatever way you play it is GOOD!!! I prefer his solo career than The Beatles, yeah I love the beatles, but individually he is a genius!!!
@fazg2 I'm not insulting Paul McCartney. He's one of the greatest artists of all time. I'm insulting Gwen Stafani, one of the worst vocalists of all time.
@TheAerochick13 i never said he was good. infact he was actually the worst one there. his voice just isn't what it used to be, in this case GOOD. his screams were irritating and offtone, and your talking about how Gwen Stefani can't sing? Steven Tyler couldn't sing a damn note that was correct. HIs voice was scratchy and just plain terrible, i dont see how you can say his performance was better then hers. you being deaf seems like the reasonable answer
@blackhills777 I'M the one who's deaf, here? You've got to be kidding me! If you think that Gwen Stafani's performance was good, you probably can't tell the E string from the 6th string. Steven Tyler's voice has been strained over the years, but he's doing much better for himself than other artists his age. You probably loved Christina Aguilera's performance at the Superbowl, too.
@TheAerochick13 I'm saying here that you actually think that Steven Tyler's performance was better than Gwen's.im still trying to find out how. When you say Gwen's performance was "shakey and just plain terrible", while Steven Tyler's wasn't anywhere near as good. When his voice is "shakey and just plain terrible" as well.It seems like you apparently just PERSONALLY don't like Gwen Stefani for no apparent reason. And no,Christina Aguilera's performance wasn't good at all, sorry to disappoint you
@blackhills777 Oh yeah, me and Gwen were best buddies back in high school and she betrayed me to get to my current boyfriend at the time, yadda yadda yadda -- no. It doesn't take any pre-watching-this-video dislikings of Gwen Stafani to realize that her performance sucked.
@TheAerochick13 well anybody with normal ears could hear that Gwen Stefani's performance was nowhere near as bad as Steven Tyler's, especially in the "shakey and just plain terrible" category. and by personal I meant you just hate her for no good reason, oh wait- that's right, you hate her for her being "shakey and terrible", so apparently you must hate Steven Tyler as well
@mybestbuddy100 and i thought i have already cleared my mistake on that sentence i wrote regarding Lennon performing Penny Lane live. more and more, this whole thing just seems like die-hard fans of The Beatles are just disappointed that every artist just can't sound the same as they did. unfortunately, music wouldn't be music if everyone sounded the same.
@mybestbuddy100 If I look back at how this argument started, I'm pretty sure it wasn't about who's performance sounded more like The Beatles. It was about who's performance was terrible in vocal wise (ex. "shaky and just plain terrible" - TheAerochick13). she would be terrible IF she was TRYING to perform the same harmonies as The Beatles. but she clearly didn't. she performed at her own harmony.
@blackhills777 "I can't count how many times Penny Lane was ruined by Paul MCCartney or John Lennon messing up on they're(by the way, it's>their) on lyrics for vocals" Sir, you are a LIAR. The Beatles NEVER performed "Penny Lane" LIVE. Paul has "ALONE"...But John NEVER did! LIAR!!! LIAR!!! Fuckin' No-Nothing LIAR!!!
@JohnAndRowForever i never said they played it live. Paul McCartney did mess up on Penny Lane Live. but i know John Lennon didn't perform the song live. I was referring to his offtones on the original track for Penny Lane.
@blackhills777 "I can't count how many times Penny Lane was ruined by Paul McCartney or John Lennon" That statemnet doesn't imply that John Lennon ruined that song more than "ONCE"??? Just admit you've been caught in a LIE.
@blackhills777 both of you just shutup!!!!!!!!!!! Let me enjoy his beautiful music,God!! Paul McCartney is my hero and you are just blabering and wyning about the show, his music, whatever way you play it is GOOD!!! I prefer his solo career than The Beatles, yeah I love the beatles, but individually he is a genius!!!
@blackhills777 Please show me how John f'ed up Penny Lane. He sang the proper harmony as he always did on any Beatle track. Being a soundman and having to mix harmony each week some voices mesh others simply never will compliment one another. The Beatles harmonies were an inspiration to many and were considered some of the greatest harmonies recorded. Please enlighten me how Johns harmonies ruined Penney Lane or any Beatle song since you are an authority on the subject.
Uh... don't the fire martials handle this sort of thing? Ya know... Gwen Stafani trying to sing Beatle songs? "Occupancy of one Gwen Stafani singing Beatles songs is unlawful and hazardous".
