Yes so sad...Being at the tail end of the wreck I had no idea the extent of the tragedy in till I got home that night. I have had a hard time sleeping thinking people died & the fact if our truck was going any faster we would have been in the middle of the tunnel.
Yeah many members of my crew went into the tunnel to try to pull people out, but when the smoke came it was overwhelming being so isolated in the tunnel. We fell back fast then when the police arrived they had us leave...
If you guys had known the area there was some ways to get right up to the exit of the tunnel where you could have had the Money shot. Good effort though.
Yeah we missed the money shot...Still we slammed on the breaks as the first truck at the start of the tunnel after the wreck. I can't believe people died & we were right there & couldn't help because of so much smoke in the tunnel.
I know what your saying. It was one hectic moment dude. You guys were insane. I think I would have tried to go closer to the tunnel or interviewed some drivers or something. But you guys were agro. Good job.
The boy wasn't 6 weeks old. He was 6 yrs. old. He was my grandson. He would be 9 tomorrow (June 18). He died with is Father, Hugo.
