  • YOU'LL play? just kidding.

  • This song stabs me. It's so beautiful <3

  • Pretty sure "chili bowl" is a chick. She doesn't seem to approve.

  • lol looking back at the vid i guess its arguable to say its a ponytail. kinda hard to see. yea, to me it seems like shes dissapointed for some reason.

  • bravo like always. i always laugh at the guy with the chilli bowl hair cut at the end of this vid in the middle of the screen, funny how he shakes his head no back and forth. i always wonder if hes dissapointed or is he just amazed

  • Its a chick you can see the pony tail tie at the end its white

me recuerda los momentos en los que siento que no puedo aguantar mas esta vida!!!

esas situacion tan desesperantes que te hacen decir ya no mas ya no quiero estar aqui

    quiero desaparecer

es maravilloso como Thom capto esos momentos!!

    Es MaravillosO!!!-------^----^------

  • ten times better than diazepam...

  • Such an awesome song. I agree proprietary1 it gives me chills as well!

  • gives me chills every time one of his best songs by far..

  • i smoke dope cis i wanna feel like this song ♥♫

  • Watching Thom singing, Rilke's line from Duino Elegies comes to my mind: Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?/ Who, if I cried out, would hear me among the angelic orders?

Thom is the one who cries, at the same time that he is the cry -- and at once, the one to hear us among the angelic orders.

Every time I watch this video, I cry -- and I cry.

Perfection. Beauty. It's a privilege to be able to follow his work.

Thanks for uploading this, and sharing the mp3.

  • thanks for pointing it out.

    peace.

  • just brilliant...

  • This song brings to tears every time.

"I'm not here, this isn't happening." This song is so soothing, it's like medicine for someone who just wants to escape, but they can't, but they do through their imagination, if that makes any sense.

"The moment's already passed," and trying to convince yourself that non of this is happening. WOW!

    =]

  • Of all the great amazing radiohead songs this is my absolute favourite, Thom sings beautifully and the song stops you in its tracks, amazing!

  • Jonny's love of the ondes martenot just opened up Radiohead's music to an entirely different level. It just feels like this instrument was always meant for them, doesn't it? But it didn't come to pass until KidA/Amnesiac. How bizarre to think of them now without it!

  • Radiohead is lovemaking. Coldplay is holding hands.

  • i don't think i've ever heard this man sing badly!

whether they are live, in the studio, wherever, he always sounds brilliant!

  • their lyrics are so complex.... makes you listen to the song more than 12312631528 times

  • the intensity is overwhelming

  • how can you compare this master piece to coldplay? are you out of your fucking mind? and besides thom yorke is not on drugs he is feeling the music...are you feeling it?? are you??? NO so fuck off!!

  • i was swinging back and forth in my chair stoned out of my mind by the rythym of the guitar,

this was the closest moment almost touching god

thank you for your presence thom yorke.

  • this is just.. unbelievable.

if there is a god, he sure spent a little more time on Thom.

  • It is blasphemy to even attempt to compare another band to Radiohead

  • Who is the more Foolish ? The Fool ? or the one that Follows him ?

  • i think its the fool

wait, is this a trick question?

  • The follower.

  • it sounds like wild beasts have been listening to this a lot. their new song all the kings men sounds like it

  • do never compare yourself to another group

you have to make your own sound, not that of another band!

  • If u like this tune, maybe you like also tunes that I made. Radiohead, Thom Yorke in particular, Burial and John Frusciante are my rollmodels. I'm very interested in your opinion, check out my account if you're in for it. I'm out! Thank u!!!

  • Well anyone can work a mixing board, but I kinda have to think Radiohead doens't need them so much.

  • Thom Yorke is such a hero.

  • Lol@Coldplay

  • If you got a throat I got a knife () ??? Anyway do you know any other bands who are good ?

  • Ever hear of MGMT? check them out on youtube...MGMT loves Radiohead...Check out the "Time to pretend" music video...its weird, but its great in my opinion

  • Everybody knows them, and everyone knows this song. It's awesome, but still, Radiohead are better!

  • Saltuariamente : I love Sigur Ros .

Do you know where i can get some stickers of Radiohead ?

  • I've saw them 3 times they made a great show but they are really not as creative as Radiohead . Have you heard already about Two Gallants they're pretty good as well .?

  • yea, heard something from them, it sounds good, but i think they're pretty far from RH, not in sense of absolute quality, but for their musical style.

Anyway their lyrics are very interesting...

  • Hey does anybody know another group like Radiohead ? Can anbody tell me the significance of videotape ?

  • You probably have heard them already, but Coldplay has a similar style, but they aren't quite as creative as Radiohead

  • Coldplay are boring.

  • and your comments empty as is your tag

  • Actually Radiohead are unique, they moved from indy rock of PAblo Honey (worst LP) and the Bends to their own wonderful style (OK COMPUTER greatest 90s LP) then experimented electronic music, and a sort of fusion,

anyway Sigur Ros, Bjork, first LPs of Ani Di Franco can remind their style...

according to me, videotape tells about Death that becomes a show and an occasion of fame at mass-media age

  • right. the songs about war school

  • Fabiocchi can't be dead!

I believe he just lost password, his computer crushed or went to a war school but he couldn't die!

  • my nippes get stiff listening to this ..lol

  • I would pay anything just to hear 1 song sang by him live

  • a kidney? :)

  • you just did

  • the beatles of our generation

  • I think you may be on to something...

  • I don't find the words to explaine my emotions... thanks radiohead!!! This song is fantastic!!!

  • Goosebumps everytime. :)

4:15 appears to be Velma from scooby do lol

  • wonderful posting, thank you very much. This song makes my teeth itch and my eyes swell it is so beautiful. Heart-wrenchingly gorgeous.

  • these guys knock me out of my shoes every time i see them live

  • if i just was able to see them live just one time...

  • i know what you mean...

  • had a chance to go to VA concert and didnt work out, ended up getting rained out by a huge storm, very serendipitous. till the day fellas i will be patiently waiting

  • this might actually be better than the original!

  • as an atheist i cant tell you what a death i expect but when i go i can only hope to await such serentiy as this song portrays jajdr

  • radiohead is one of the greatest bands i have ever had the privelage to listen to. such simlicity with yet such complexity. music at its finest. BEAUTIFU!!!

  • Пух-љиииз.

  • Omgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.

    BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Sublime

  • is a perfect song

  • How they make this song?

    Radiohead is God...

  • hermosa canción!!!!!!

  • it sounds like the death an atheist expects. it's one of the most perfect things that i've ever heard

  • This song is perfection in purest form.

  • does anybody know about those grovey keyboards with the wires to fingers deal????

  • Ondes Martenot

  • Can anyone tell me in which concert is this?

    thx

  • i have a radiohead

  • not sure if anyone else posted this, but in an interview with someone from BBC, when asked what one song he could be remembered for out of everything Radiohead had done, he said "How to Disappear" immediately. The reporter asked him why and he responded, "because it's the most beautiful thing we've ever done"

  • If you could tell me which interview that was it would be greatly appreciated

  • "the most beautiful" I agree, but i'm not sure is the best....

  • Yes, about 2 weeks ago. He has stated this in at least 2 inerviews. No wonder, this song is personal to him, and gorgeous.

  • i wonder...how many lives this song has saved....

  • jusT brilliant..... .

  • i´ve always thought that what radiohead do are "atmospheres" with their music. And i strongly believe that this song is the perfect example of that.

in a very rare way, this song has given to me so many times the strong for keep living.

    they´re not from this earth.

  • great...

  • definitivamente es hermosa esta canción que lástima que en mi país no se aprecie este tipo de bandas y por eso no vienen tanto RADIOHEAD la mejor banda del mundo!!!!!!!!! i´m not here

  • de donde sos?

  • these are true masters, Radiohead is by far my favorite band, once you get hooked you dont get unhooked all you want to do is listen to them

  • 'In sleep a king, In waking no such matter' - Yeats, when you listen to this song, it feels so similar.

  • Arguably Radiohead's greatest song...And one of the greatest in pop/rock history.

  • Wow......... all i can say to this....... greatest musician of this generation

  • musicians

  • being in love with thom yorke. lucky to see that many many people watched this video. this is one of my favorite, and best song of KID A.

  • a veces pienso que yo necesito la misma respuesta

  • Perfect I love this song soooo much

  • i wish i was jonny greenwood's finger

  • no mms

  • chubbylegend - understand you 100%

  • al minuto 3 me corte .

  • Of all the bands I love, I come back to Radiohead. Of all the songs I love, I come back to How To Disappear Completely. I feel it resonating within me like an inner voice. I just wanted everyone to know that.

  • is that sort of theremin on a effect? sounds interesting but gets pretty annoying quickly. amazing song.

  • it's an ondes martenot (several actually)

  • Dunno why people thumbed you down because an Ondes Martenot and a theremin are one and the same. Good guess.

  • thanks.

  • They thumbed it down because he said it was annoying or at least that's what I'm assuming.

Also a Thermin and an Ondes Martenot are not one in the same. Not by a long shot.

  • But the sound they create is.

  • They do sound very similar.

  • I got the chills, brrrrr, I feel so cold, and my tears feel so hot, their vision is on Beethoven and Mozart scale

  • if my girlfriend had a deeper throat the world would be a better place

  • my girl's throat lets part of me disappear completely

  • sadly my girlfriend cant get past me ged head coz it weighs in at a very manly 30 pounds

  • ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • her belly button too

  • i find this song beautifully haunting

  • OMFG!!

This is the best Radiohead's song, really!

  • this song disappeared me completely....

  • holy crap... holy crap. wow.

  • if everyone listened to this song at least once in their lifetime, the world would be a better place.

Peace and Love brothers and sisters

  • Who could deny such emotion. Sooo good!

  • I miss you little brother

    You are at peace now.

    I love you.

  • Radiohead and Tool are my top two bands aswell!! Their music comes from deep within!!!

  • I have listened and said "I'm not here. This isn't happening " in my head on the metro and have to my knowegde disappeared and didnt come back til my stop and got off. The mind is a beautiful thing. Thom knows something and is tellling us about it.

  • i think he is too. i think the world of the mind is much more powerful than the physical world. i mean if you take any solid physical thing and break it down what is it made of...molecules and atoms...which are really pure energy...electrons and protons spinning...just like everything else in this world they only appear solid

  • its an illusion..i know it sounds crazy. most people dont use their mind correctly. they think and think and think and actually couldnt stop thinking for a solid 3 minutes if they tried. just a non stop jumble of useless thoughts, you seem to be able to focus your mind well even on the metro

  • goosebumps

  • Words cannot describe... I--I don't want to come across as shmaltzy, but this is what gorgeousness is if one could capture it in song. Thom's a genius. Plain and simple.

Now time for a cheap and unnecessary (sp?) shot: Let's see Coldplay pull something like this outta their ass!! Well, to be fair, they have come close (The Scientist, Strawberry Swing, hell, even Fix You), but those CLEARLY can't compare to this...

  • I've been telling people this for a long time: If you listen to this song with your eyes closed and without distractions, I swear you will be transported to another place.

  • Holy shit dude ur right i could feel the music so deep inside of me... i soon started loosing a sense of reality and there was a moment in which i didn't know if i was dreaming or awake

    That was an Amazing experience

  • I believe you

  • i've been listenning to it for an hour ealier in my car... so... intense but still appeasing i don't know how... this song is like a dream... haunting but pleasing... this is pure magic!

(it is the Queen emblem above the scene, am i right? i know it but i don't know why it is there :)

  • This is great

  • I love this song

  • no words...just un real

  • "Without radiohead, life would be a mistake"

    -Nietzsche

  • nice

  • ALL OF HIS SOUL ON THIS SONG...

  • Its as though when Thom says "I'm not here, this isn't happening." I really am no longer in the state I was in before. No longer in my chair at my computer, I'm somewhere else. And this isn't happening. Then the song ends and i come back to the laptop. Amazing song.

  • By the way, those keyboards they're playing aren't really keyboards. They are actually theremins with keyboard capacities. They are called Ondes Martenots. They're not used in rock music that often but they're still cool.

  • Uhm, I have a lot to say to that.

    > Most people know that.

    > They're not theremins(the similar sound comes from a ring on a wire, not your hand moving closer to an antennae).

    > Rock music isn't cool.

  • I think this might just be my favourite radiohead song, it's always changing but the more i listen to this the more i luv it

  • @thomeyorkelegend Me fucking too!

  • pure genius

  • Thom Yorke has said this is his favorite Radiohead piece. Absolute perfection. By the way, Tool Rools. Both bands are my absolute favorites, because they are so creative and original. They wretch such emotion from me with their music.

  • just fantastic
