  • It was Shep Gordon, Alice`s manager, who threw the chicken on stage.

  • The rest of the rumor was that he'd offered anyone who could out-gross him $10,000 & 1 guy came up & took a crap on stage, then ate a piece & he won the $10,000 These ridiculous rumors were pushed by their manager Shep Gordon who believed any publicity was good publicity. They also spread a rumor that the guys were transgender. All fake, but the SHOCK-ROCK thing paid off in spades. Glad they made it cause I love the original band members & all Alice has done since (Except the Nu-wave years)

  • @MrSgnobodi That rumour started off about Frank Zappa. It was alleged he said no one in the audience could out gross him, someone came up and took a dump on stage, Zappa then ate some of it. Welcome to urban legendland.

  • The rumor was that he released chickens onto the stage and (wearing army boots) stomped them to death. They purposely spread false rumors for the controversy which became FREE PUBLICITY. I remember when I was still in Jr High school one of the rumors was Alice had a grossout contest on stage and he passed around a cup in the front row and everyone spit in it and then Alice drank it. Obviously that never really happened.

  • Oh yeah, I vaguely remember hearing about this. It was one of those seminars during the 80's when there was that big scare about the "dangers of rock music", blah, blah, blah. They did have a point though. People do some crazy shit at concerts they wouldn't normally do. The crowds get whipped into a frenzy that often turns violent.

  • he could have ended up in the grocery store, better off at a cooper concert

  • @moosepoop69 sometimes singer changes the words during gig... Listen some live performances of kiss, mötley, led zeppelin they all do it...

  • Fucking chickenlovers.

  • 'Lines form on my left and right'

'Lines form on my face and hands' WHAT THE FUCK ALICE! In the song it's "Lines form on my face and hands, Lines form ON THE UPS AND DOWNS"

  • Who the fuck carries a chicken to an Alice Cooper live performance?

  • @Rihew The same question i always ask myself oO

  • @philipburtburt Umm, veal is raised to about 30 weeks as a maximum, with the average being less than 20. So explain to me how they are kept there for years. Also, what is unnatural about corn and soybean meal?

  • Sick bastard

  • @04h239 Fuck You!!

  • @tragedicmert ass ALICE COOPER!!<3333333333333

  • animal killer.

  • i can understand if ozzy though the bat was fake but how do you not notice it is a live chicken. it doesn't matter i still love Alice

  • Ozzy has the bat, Alice has the chicken.

  • They should have seen my Aunt Ora wring a chicken's neck in the back yard before she plucked it, chopped it, and fried it for dinner. The Alice Cooper experience was probably just as fast and painless. No need to call foul!

  • What kind of a person does something like that ? You don't just tear a chicken to pieces while it's still alive. It suffered a terrible death. Someone should do the same to the people responsible.

  • @nielsboex It was forty years ago, and the people who did it were probably drunk and/or stoned at the time. Oh, and if you really do think they should be torn to pieces too, well, people like you make me weep for the future....

  • @tjhoenecke

That's not an excuse to torture a chicken.

  • @nielsboex You're right, you've convinced me, they TOTALLY deserve to be drawn and quartered for tearing a chicken to pieces while it's still alive, regardless of any conceivable mitigating factors. We should do the same thing then to foxes, and all other predatory/carnivorous animals that do not properly ensure a painless, cruelty-free death to their prey.

  • @tjhoenecke

They are animals. They don't have the ability to make complex moral decisions, that's why it's our duty to defend them from species that do have that ability. Like ourselves. Do you not see that these people made a consious choice to tear a live animal to shreds ? What if someone did the same thing to one of your family members (or anyone else for that matter), would it be less bad because the person who did it was drunk ?

  • @nielsboex So even though the chicken eaten alive by the fox dies just as horribly, you think it's more moral to leave the fox be, but tear a human being into pieces? How do you know these people made a conscious decision? Ever hear of "impaired judgment," "diminished capacity," or "temporary insanity"? Maybe they felt terrible once they'd realized what they'd done. And how can you find a moral equivalency between killing an animal and killing a human?

  • what is the song?

  • tearing a chicken apart is horrible..... Eating a chicken is delicious.

  • Alice is choking his chicken!

  • The drummer at 0.34 looks much like a puppet.

  • Who brings a chicken to a rock concert anyway ? Guess some people need poultry around before they can have a good time. Chicken and Alice Cooper- evidently the Toronto crowd rolls that way....It was an all day show so maybe someone brought it as a snack.

  • HEEYYYYY........I WAS THERE ! ! ! (at the Alice Cooper, concert)

  • @kathmandu241 wait at what concert? a different one? or this one? what do you mean by there?

  • HEEYYYYY........I WAS THERE ! ! !

  • that chicken traveled so far just to see the show, oh how his heart must have leapt with joy when he actually got on stage with the man himself...

  • RIP CHICKEN YOUR 3 SECONDS OF FAME IS UP!

  • RKO good reference

  • @Reint25 Good thing they're friends.

  • Ozzy did it aswell lol

  • haha lol svensk text

    haha lol swedish subtitles

  • When I see Alice Cooper at 1:07 I see where Kesha stole her look from.

  • i agree KasyMorbid RIP

  • 1:37

  • RIP chiken

  • chickens have been afraid of him since

  • hahaha:-) And from that they said that he bit the chicken and he tore its head????

  • Comment removed

  • ;_; poor chicken

  • a great friend of mine saw ACB and Alice would say to the crowd "all of you are way crazier than i am."

  • like Iggy YEAH :-)

  • the chicken was killed by the people in the front three rows... NOT by alice

  • hes an amazin person, but still tht poor chicken :(

  • HAHAHA Silly Alice! Chickens don't fly!!! hahahaha

  • billy witch doctor.com work mostly with chicken....arise, arise chicken.

  • what is the second song???

  • @SilentAlien55 "Is It My Body?" from 1971 or 72 (don't remember) He still plays them both today when he tours

  • alice is the MAN in the under pants:)

  • i kill chickens with an axe, it's part of the process, how to u think the chicken makes it to your table

  • y'now, the people that blame alice for the chicken incident are all hypocrites.

if you eat meat you are also killing an animal, but no one seems to pay much attention to that...

if someone buys a bucket of chicken at KFC, they are doing no less evil than the audience that killed the bird that day.

  • @whisperinthewind77 Alice Cooper very frequently refers to KFC when discussing this.

  • I love how so many people often say that Alice Cooper , ( the band, not Vincent Furnier), was from Detroit. I guess that sells better than saying they were from Chandler Arizona.

  • @CakesOfGravy Vincent Furnier no longer exist, he changed his name to Alice Cooper in 1974, he was born in Detroit, so it seems pretty simple why people say Alice Cooper from Detroit

  • so im cant understand : is it alice copper killd the chicken or the audiance killd her?

  • @larawora

    the audience killed the chicken.

  • @Tartersauce101 then fuck the audience who killd the chickens those chocksuckers im hope they are dead now...in fuck/hell

  • Comment removed

  • @larawora There is no need to use such vulgar language. If you think that makes you look passionate about a chicken, you are wrong. That and not knowing how to spell just makes you look doubly ignorant.

  • @SisterSara57 no im not ignorant im from countrey that they speak english like pee mind. and im know that alice didnt kill the chicken (at least how he say) and dont jugde me until you know close the same person!

  • @larawora Contrey? You mean country? Hey I'm from WV.

  • @SisterSara57 so what if im say the fuck word but is true! if someone kill one of your family (only for exempale and god bless you and your family) you wont try to kill him and say to him "fuck" for the same person that killd him? that's exacly the same but about the poor little chicken! fuck pita that wasent in there that could beat the one who killd this little poor chicken!

  • @larawora Allow me to offer rephrasing assistance: I don't understand. Was it Alice Cooper who killed the chicken, or did the audience?

  • wat is the song

  • Dude I so wanna meet Alice Cooper he is greatest!!!

  • Maybe not a DVD, I see the icon on the screen. What documentary?

  • What is this from? A DVD?

  • he didn't kill that chicken! Spectators killed chicken!

  • According to wikipedia:-

"A chicken somehow made its way on stage during Cooper's performance; not having any experience around farm animals, Cooper presumed that, since the chicken had wings, it would be able to fly.

He picked it up and threw it out over the crowd, expecting it to fly away; the bird instead plummeted into the first few rows of the crowd occupied by disabled people in wheelchairs, who reportedly proceeded to tear the animal to pieces."

  • hes such a babe

  • Does anybody know,Is there any film material of Gene Vincent and Alice Cooper´s band live performance in that concert?

  • LOLOL poor chicken...i'm sorry but the way he just threw it was a fucking family guy moment right there, extremely random and perfect LOL!!!

  • o yeah peace and love with a chicken sacrifice are you guys sure there were hippies on the crowd btw alice rocks!!!

  • I was at this concert, and Joni Mitchell did not appear. It was called theToronto Rock'n'Roll Revival. The performers included Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent (who was backed by Alice Cooper's band), Jerry Lee Lewis, Chicago, Tony Joe White, Doug Kershaw, Cat Mother + the All Night Newsboys, John Lennon +the Plastic Ono Band (with Eric Clapton on gtr), and The Doors headlined. It was Alice Cooper's 2nd show in Toronto, as they had played "Toronto Pop '69" at Varsity Stadium in June.

  • I never knew this about the chicken and Alice. Nice to be able to hear the truth of these situations. Now if I can find the truth about Ozzy biting the head off that bat!

  • Ozzy bit the head off a bat. He thought it was a rubber bat though.

  • Poor chicken.

  • @Kottplockarkommunist u probably eat chicken... so shut the fuck upp

  • Armin smells like shit, he needs to take a shower

  • where is the old footage at?!

  • I have it, fans who have don't let it to get out cus we know that people will spread it everywhere.

  • what's wrong with letting it get out? after all, that's how you saw it.

  • Because since it has been kept away from the public for a long time less people have it and less people can steal it and claim it as there own making it more rare for people to own. Main reasons: people will steal it, it won't be as rare anymore, and you won't be able to trade it for other videos because it will be free on the internet. Be satisfied with the stuff posted already me and MyStars72 have posted a lot of rare vids.

  • Also I saw it because I traded something for it = biggest reason for it being kept away. Just think about it, if everyone gave out rare footage for free on the internet then there would be no trading anymore which would cause havoc!

  • but a lot of people really don't care. just big fans. as far as trading; most aud/vid will turn up eventually. that's why you need something tangible like records. but i understand.

  • I don't know if my friend and discuss it we may release it.

  • ...someone brought a chicken to a rock concert? XD

  • nice whith Swedis subtitles

  • LOL Alice, Chickens don't fly XD

I would have done the same thing because I didn't know chickens couldn't fly also :)

  • no not far, most of the time their wings get clipped so they can't even get off the ground. o

  • Det blev ju stora rubriker!

  • with all respect anyone who wants to know alice, read the book billion dollar baby...

  • You dumbshit they were not dopers. alson alice had a drinking problem.

  • They were dopers. Alice had a huge coke problem and almost lost his house if it were not for his wife. This was during the time Davey Johnstone and Freddie Mandel were with him. Freddie was clean cut but Davey and Alice had a huge problem

  • It was an Alcohol problem. Not a coke problem

  • his name wasnt alice cooper,

that was the name of the band, he just goes by that.

  • Vincent Furnier

  • Alice was primarily a seasoned drinker, but he has never denied a brief interlude with coke before he cleaned up in '82. It was never his drug of choice though, he said that he only used it to be able to drink more.

  • Alice never did cocaine what the fuck are you talking about?

  • No, Alice never DID cocaine, as I said, it wasn't his drug of choice, that's not to say that he didn't experiment with substances other than alcohol.

  • No not even experimented with cocaine, I know that for a fact so don't try to act like you know what you're talking about. I'm his biggest fan, I've done my research and I know pretty much everything he's ever done that's been recorded. He was just into alcohol that was his thing. He never experimented with drugs, he was drugged with hash brownies back in the early days when the ACG lived the Pink Floyd (who drugged them). Mike and Glen did drugs that's about it.

  • His drug experimentation was never a huge matter of public record because of his alcohol woes but you can find references to it, mainly AC saying that he never liked drugs, not liking and not doing are two different animals. I've worked for the man for over 15 years, he would have no reason to lie to me.

  • Ya well next time your with the Coop why don't you ask him if he ever even tried cocaine cus it's a definite no. What type of work does some guy who hangs out on YouTube do for Alice? Do you kiss his ass and clean up after him? I really don't know. You are purposely being vague to make it sound like you're right but Alice is a guy who is completely against drug use ("Hey Stoopid"...), I'm sure the farthest he's gone is pot experimentation wise.

  • First off, I'm not a guy. Second, lap tops have made the sound production gig a lot less lonely: One can only watch Spaghetti Ho's on pay per view so many times before the hotel walls start closing in. Your problrm is that you have this idea of "drug use," making it sound as though Alice was a regular user, or that he had a drug problem, which he never did. The press focuses on his alcohol use because that was his poison, he had, however, been offered every drug and occassionally indulged.

  • Like most addicts AC had his drug of choice; alcohol. He didn't like the effects of other drugs and stuck with what he enjoyed. How did he know that he didn't like the effects of other drugs? BECAUSE HE TRIED THEM. Try this, find me an article from the 70's that mentions Aerosmith's drug use. You won't, the fact that these 70's performers had problems came out after rehab, hence, the press focusing on AC's alcoholism, as opposed to the odd imbibe of drugs.

  • And I'm telling you again! I understand that you mean just expiremented! Alice did experiment with drugs! I'm saying he didn't take them at all! Closest was most likely pot. And I guess what your saying is that he tried every drug and just decided "nah I'll stick with beer"? First off Alice wasn't one to experiment with drugs, second he couldn't give them up after a first try, forget about addiction?

  • Every addict has their drug of choice, Alice's was booze. Addiction doesn't mean that you get hooked on everything that you try, if that were the case we'd have a shitload of alcoholic, drug addled, sex maniac gamblers who are overweight with credit card debt up the wazoo because of their shopping addiction. Alice has admitted to trying different drugs, to anyone who asks, back to my point that the media doesn't ask, or when they do he gives the answer that alcohol was his drug.

  • That Alice tried drugs and never got hooked on anything is extremely admirable, in my opinion. He did suffer addiction he could have traded in his case of Bud and 40 of Seagrams and jumped on horse, but he didn't. The Pink Floyd story is quite entertaining, that's why it gets told. There wouldn't be any entertainment in Alice saying, "I did do a gram of coke once so that I could stay up drinking in my hotel room, alone." The showman picks his stories.

  • Yes, Micheal and Glenn were the only ones "doing" drugs, in fact, Glen's drug use eventually ended his performing career. Alice wasn't as hardcore about astaining as you seem to think, he never got addicted because he had the presence of mind to say no thanks when a drug that he didn't like was offered to him again.

  • You seem to be taking this conversation personally, as though not having this information already brings into question your authenticity as an AC fan. If you go through your subs you'll see that I've been subscribed to you for some time now, you have one of the most comprehensive Cooper channels on this site. Take my information for what it is, more information about the artist that you enjoy. At the end of the day, Coop has been clean for over 25 years. That is admirable, and what matters.

  • You are fucking stubborn. By now Alice would even had admitted to trying LSD, or cocaine, or heroin because he is older now and that is in the past, that's another reason. Also he and the band has said that the only ones trying drugs and doing them were Michael Bruce and Glen Buxton. The closest other members came to drugs was being drugged by Pink Floyd and maybe other attempts at smoking marijuana.

  • Unless you mean when he would mix his beer with Coca Cola.

  • ac would neva hurt da chicken on purpose. he didnt no dat chickens couldn't fly. People are feral to think someone would do dis to a poor defencless chicken. His songs are cool to.

  • His voice reminds me of Rownan Atkinsson (Mr Bean)

  • I was at this concert. Alice was new and a little out of place since it was called the Toronto Rockin Roll Revival. No I did not help tear the chicken apart. I am a peace loving veggie.

  • What was the point of the concert? or the theme? How did they stand out from the other bands?

  • The bands at this concert were essentially folk music acts: Crosby, Stills, Nash and I think Neil Young was with them then, a lot of conservative Canadian bands that were allowed to play on the Tommy Hunter show, so a group of young men with over amped SG's and woman's clothing made a huge impression, even without the chicken, but it was the chicken that made the papers.

  • I talked to my dad, Lennon played this concert as well, Joni Mitchell, just to give you an idea of what Alice Cooper band was in contrast to.

  • I thought that Alice disappeared all you Hippies with one fell swoop of his riding crop?

  • I like all of Alice's music, but I don't like him when he was on beer, I prefer him when he quit drinking. But he is sweet and aww he didn't know a chicken couldn't fly, that's so sweet lol

  • And after that, Alice was haunted by a poultry-geist.

  • I'd read that Alice was only paid a poultry sum for this performance. That's why he threw it back and said KEEP IT!

  • haha "poultry" interesting choice of words since it's about a certain incident lol

  • Yeah, as opposed to "paltry". A little word-play on my part...

  • yea i know, i was just saying nice choice of words

  • @erinandcompany Oh god, I've heard some awful puns, but that takes the cake, lol
