@45barber1 Well I drove this car and I have to say I was delighted. Absolutely no complaints. But if you have money go for Grand Cheroke any day. In my opinion it feels little more superior (ofcourse more price).
The guy was quoting me 28K for a sticker price of 34 K with all kind of stuff (infinity audio, chrome wheels, lcd/nav, V6, rear seat entertainment system etc etc). So pretty good deal. It just boils down to personal preference. I am 100% sure this car is great with great warranty.
@flexor212000 they are actually pretty realiable my mom has a 2007 kia sportage with almost 80,000 miles and we never had a problem with it. We have had more problems with my dad's 2008 ford focus

the laundry basket test or whatever real life cargo test is a MUST for CUVs/SUVs and minivans. the specified dimensions from manufacturers really don't tell the full story. i like the beer keg test myself.
I love that Kia built it's new plant in my home state, while Chrysler built new plants in Mexico after receiving bailout money. Sad Korean's are putting 2,000 American's to work that Chrysler could have.

im ifey ifey on kia......I fell in love with the look of the Forte but when I got in it I hated it instantly because it was cramped and very cheap and plasticly......but when I got into the Soul I still loved it......it was just as I though and more.......the Surento is a great vehicle but for a little less I can get a basic version of a truck......I want the Kia Soul to bad I got a Pontiac instead because it was cheaper.
I think this was her best review, so far. she was able to be engaging without being over the top. She's not as cliche as Ross Rapoport and has more of a personality as well. I hope they keep her....

Well, I haven't driven the Sante Fe, so I can't comment to that. The Sorento was maybe a 7.5, almost 8. It wasn't terrible by any means, and on your every day bumps it was fine. DC roads are notorious for their potholes and in general are in poor condition, and I feel like a bit more travel in the suspension would have made for a more comfy ride. But hey...if you live in the burbs where they actually take care of the roads, then you'll be riding like it ain't no thang!
@jrhalpha2 nooooooooo - keep away from Santa!! we have been using 2009 model for 30thou miles in our company - and the verdict is - its rubish compared to the new kia. The ride is worse, the inner quality is lower, the tech talk is no match and the overall look and feel of the car is somewhat cheaper and "weaker".

Thanks for your comment. I should have picked a better phrase when I said, "driving conditions". I didn't mean that variable valve timing will help you in the rain, on gravel, etc. I could have been more clear.

For a very similar vehicle I think I'd buy the 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. I just like the look of it better. I know it's pretty much the same as the Sorento as well.
I'm guessing that the UAW has no control over KIA, so they will probably do very well in this country. I'll never buy a UAW car again after what happened with GM.

Would I purchase a vehicle from someone dressed like a Colonial Bozo the clown? Ummmmm....nope. Could I get past the bizzaro attire and actually listen to her sales pitch? Ummmmmm.....nope. Like I said last time, when the reviewer is more upfront than the product, it is a major problem. And TopGear is entertainment, not a review show.

"Top Gear is entertainment, not a review show"?! I decided not to buy a Tesla specifically because of the battery issues brought up in Top Gear's review. As Clarkson warned, the repair bills for my Veyron could fund several third world countries, but the luxury and power are more than worth it. And as soon as an FXX appears on eBay, I'm jumping on it, based on their test track results.
Entertainment indeed!

@JGPRdotCOM Dude if you get your buying advice from Top Gear then that is your choice. But Top Gear is and always has been an entertainment show with cars, thus its wide demographic appeal.
Lighten up? Sorry if I expect a certain degree of professionalism in a reviewer. I take my cars seriously and expect a channel which purports to be a REVIEW show to take it equally seriously.

@Boodieman72 The basket thing is just her practical way of measuring of how much crap you get into the boot, it's kinda logical, the boot can have like lots of capacity but it may be a crap in terms of how practical it is (i.e. too wide and short or vice versa). And she just likes sunroofs, who doesn't? If you don't like her then don't watch her, geez
