These are beautiful animals that are surprizingly intelligent and "humane" as well as playful. I want to bring some trance music to them and dance with them in the ocean :)
Poor little guy was seeking something from humans that he should have been getting from other dolphins. Dolphins are people too, they are too much like us to survive constant close interaction because they dont learn enough skills for life in the wild.
@beastinblack I'm sure they are quite adept at learning anything they want to learn. Maybe he just decided to be around humans. It's not that unusual through history. It may be a survival behavoir to insure that we don't wipe them out...
sooo sad that it may have been Moko found dead...it is very rare for a dolphin to be so comfortable around people. Seeing him playing with the ball was amazing, last time NZ had a freindly dolphin was Opo the dolphin in the Hoikanga.
Apparently Moko has been found dead. They will try to identify the body but the body they found has been dead about two weeks. Around the same time Moko was last seen, and has not been seen alive since. Moko was a national treasure of New Zealand.
