Bah - Lucas is a jerk. The whole angle of 'it's my mother's fault because she never asked' is pretty lame - how on earth was she supposed to know to ask? She seems like an wonderful mom. He reminds me of Christian from East Enders, who I didn't like either (although the fans on that page ate me alive for saying so - apparently being 'SUPER HOT' excuses acting like an asshole for some people.

Het is niet zo gek dat Lucas zich zo afzet tegen zijn moeder. Ze liet hem eerst in de steek toen hij een baby was en later nog eens toen hij een tiener was. Volgens mij was ze al die jaren vergeten dat ze ook nog een zoon had.
I think Lucas is acting out. He feels neglected by his mother. Yes, she did visit him in NY and sent gifts, cards and photo's but apparently she never asked him about his love life.
I think there's a lot of miscommunication between them and they'll have to work on that.
I don't think Lucas is a bad person. His relationship with his mother is just at a really bad place at this moment. I think you can see Lucas' other side in his scenes with his sister Nina.
What I like about this storyline is that it's character driven and based on show history (I myself sometimes wondered if Janine remembered having a son; she never mentioned him, Lol). What I also like is that the drama isn't really coming from the fact that Lucas is gay.
I know he's being hard on her but I wish his mother would just sit down and talk to him instead of talking AT him. Just spend some time with him. It may be hard for a stubborn 18 year old to ask but I think the answer to her question would have be "Yes, I would like some motherly love"
This child is just trouble on wheels but he makes me smile!
