if my total assets were $100 but in the markets via derivatives I could control $1000 if the market goes down 10% I am wiped out. Of course there is insurance I must buy to cover a more than 10% loss but if too many do it (credit bubble) more assets have to be vetted for than there is in the system. In the past raise taxes and print money have gotten us out. can it work this time? maybe. but at one point there is no other choise but to write off astronomical fake currency obligations-weimar.
