There are no Cherokee in her family: Fresno or Ventura County California, Vinager Hill Kentucky, or even where the white family of her mother was from in Tennesse. Ritas father Rev. Raymond Merle R. 'Dick' Coolidge is from Slavic immigrants, and sold his 'Cherokee blood' like a travelling medicine man all around the States. Ritas mother Charlotte Stewart was from Stinson, Johnson, Lee, all common names.

Cherokees have worked with, mixed with and traded ideas with each other since the beginning. Most choose to be Americans like all of us.
