I'd love to hear you play the original piano background upper register stuff Stevie does over a Backing track! that tinkly piano Stevie does is Sublime! :)
i have been coming back to listen to this wonderful sound and energy that you have, can we have a tutorial for this one, so nice to listen to ...cheers
I notice you sometimes span two notes with your right thumb to get a chord. That's jusy showing off. Great stuff, wish I had the time to get this good :)
Thanks for the replay Paul, but I am a none musician, I wish I stuck at something like that when I was young, I am purely a listener of music, so I am not really sure what it is your talking about .... sorry.
Paul I have been following you for some time now, this is the 1st message I ever sent to you, I have to say your amazing, mesmerising to watch. I would love to see some more of you playing some with a bit of a beat in the background , like this one with be nice to remake with some drum beat.
Keep uploading mate, great to watch and listen to.
@smithia6 I used to use the drum machine on the keyboard - the problem is that it pumps out the same pattern throughout and that kills the dynamics. I could sequence a whole drum track, but that would take time (I'd keep wanting to tweak it) and if I was going to do that then why not sequence the bass and free up my left hand. What about a string backing on the 2nd verse... etc etc. So I know what you mean, but it's a slippery slope.
@paulwwells I'm a piano solo artist just like you ( I own an RD700 sx too ;) ) and I use a program called band in a box to sequence drum and bass tracks trough my piano, via midi. The quality of the program is quite good, it gives you the impression that you're playing with a real drummer and percussionist, maybe you can try it ? :)
@paulwwells I know, but the band in a box works like an arranger, you just write the chords, pick the style and it will automaticaly generate midi tracks + you can finetune the styles with solos etc. you should check it out it's done in no time ;)
@paulwwells I knw but the program I use works like an arranger but in a higher quality ;) when you give in the chords it will automaticaly generate drums, bass, guitar, etc. It's quite nice, you should check it out
This is amazing! I cannot read sheet music to save my life and have always played by ear. Your tutorials are very helpful. I'm trying to master 'Dancing Queen' coz it's my favorite. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
P.S Could you play 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol? It's pretty easy but I'd love to hear your version, thanks.
Oh my gosh that's so good! Do you build this up by ear , finding the chords until it works ? Also, I just love what you've got going on with the bass line too... amazing.
Sir, you have an amazing talent and have seen most of your videos. May I put in a request? Can you do any of these 3 songs by Bill Evans:
Soirèe,
For Nenette
My Bells
Just any one of them, I'm assuring you that they are beautiful and fine piano masterpieces that it would be wonderful for you to play them. Just if you have the time.
This is amasing...

I come back to watch this once in a while, I especially like the salsa style break at around 0:58, oh my, that's particularly good...
projectmedia 2 months ago
@projectmedia Thank you for commenting. Yes, that break helps to partition that verse from the others.

@Leemondus I do that quite a lot now, it feels natural to use the width of the thumb in that way.

@micha2608 I bought a copy of Logic so that I could output midi for sheet music production. The problem is the time to do all the sequencing.
