  • Wow... "This" must be what they played at Sagila's "funeral".

  • Mushroom Kingdom is a walled maximum security prison.

Playing a different game is impossible.

    Beating it is insane.

  • Escape from New York

    [ Press Start ]

  • @GabisonStudios

    haha, fantastic comment!

  • hmm....metal gear for snk anyone? ;)

  • Is there any way you can make this available for download? It's freakin' awesome and I must have it for my iPod!!

  • Personally, I tihnk this would be TOO good of a mix for the system to handle. I would expect alot of sounds not being able to be there....but it's fun to hear this version none the less.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Bob Hauke created 2 accounts to dislike this video. one for Snake, and one for Plissken.

  • This song was just begging to be 8 bit.

  • 2 people couldn't escape from New York.

  • If I knew anything about 8 bit coding, I would make an Escape from New York game with this in it.

Maybe it's time too start learning...

  • The Duke and Romero disliked this video.

  • Wow, Super Mario could kick Snake Plissken's arse with this music at the back of him

  • We need a second NES era, completely go back to 8-bit and see what we can do with it today... And then...

Make Escape from New York the game.

That's how good this remix is, I'd actually like to see Escape from New York on the NES now XD

  • @Quadraxis14 We need another bit wars. 8-32 bit games. Sega vs Nintendo again. Those were the days.

  • Only one person hates this tune eh? Must of been the Duke.

  • This is perfect :) Awesome job.

  • Message from Big Boss: Snake, your first task will be to infiltrate the maximum security prison formerly known as New York. This will be your proving ground before your new mission into Outer Haven. The free world is counting on you, Snake.

Message from Snake: Call me Plissken. Iriquois Plissken.

  • "ARE YOU A BAD ENOUGH DUDE TO SAVE THE PRESIDENT?!"

  • @fandangobaha

    hahaha.

  • Snake is Back!!!!!

  • Catch it Today on G4 Channel

  • This sounds like a stroke of genius. Bravo!

  • That sounds so much like the movie! Great!

  • that picture this guys used for the background youv got to wander because that's the crisler building at the back no where near liberty island how the hell does lady libertys head get in the middle of the city

  • Who cares?

  • @Garganchonimous im only trying to make a point but yeah its an epic movie with epic music and an epic poster

  • @Garganchonimous It's a visual joke about the planet of apes

  • @Garganchonimous It's a visual joke about the planet of apes

  • @distopicdream

Uh, no. It's a commentary on freedom... y'see, it's a prison, and she's Lady Liberty? Get it?

  • @Andrew4TOD yeah, that's it...

  • Maybe the cloverfield monster was there at the time lol.

  • @philandrewroywatson Monster from cloverfeild threw it.

  • @philandrewroywatson

Interesting fact. On many many interviews and documentaries, JJ Abrahams has been quoted that Cloverfield was inspired by that beheadded Statue of Liberty head and actually 'escaping from New York'.

  • @philandrewroywatson I often wonder if this was John Carpenter's way of telling Hollywood to shove it considering the story was written after the Watergate Scandal. more of a symbolism that liberty was more or less dead as America had now become a policestate which was carried over to the maximum in Escape From LA with all most all civil liberties being stripped from Americans.

  • @philandrewroywatson

Maybe it's symbolic as to how fucked up New York got.

    Alternatively, THE ARTIST DIDN'T CARE.

Also alternatively, the statue was intact in the movie. Perhaps it was a foreshadowing of Cloverfield.

  • @philandrewroywatson Maybe it blew up and flew over there.

  • @philandrewroywatson man... that happened in 1997! that's the future dude... lady liberty got Banged!

  • @philandrewroywatson a new terrorist plane flew and fucked up the lady liberty and her head fell down the middle of the street.

  • @philandrewroywatson john carpenter was just trying to make a statement, that it was new york. and that "liberty" (meaning Freedom) was destroyed.

  • @philandrewroywatson ever heard of symbolism?

  • masterpiece definately needs a 8bit escape from ny game would be moreso awsome

  • Perhaps a side story about a group of falsely imprisoned 'inmates' in one of these prisons, who attempt a break out during all the shit that happened in the movie. Or something....

  • this movie is good the way it is! dont fuck with it i say!

  • @nakidff7 Yeah! Nobody fucks with The Duke! A#1!

  • Oh really, racist boy? Where was there CGI in a 1981 movie? Do tell.

  • If you watched the behind the scenes features you'd see that wasn't actual CGI. Because of their budget and the amount of money needed for other practical effects, they created a model of the city, lit it with fluorescent lights, and lined the buildings with string lights.

  • lol I can picture this on Sega or gameboy!

  • dope AS FUCK

  • Genius!

  • still sounds awesome.

  • Awesome.

  • Perfect!

  • So, "Nintendo in '86"!!!!

  • NOW

  • Escape from New York Remake in 2011.

  • I bet it won't be as good as the original.

  • Why remake a perfectly good movie.

Escape from LA desperatley needs to be remade...

  • Very true. It was like the same movie as the first one. Just different location and characters.

  • its like a remake/sequel

  • Escape from LA desperately needs to have never been made.

  • really ?

  • if they do not get someone with a badass tone like kurt russel in the remake im gonna shit my pants with anger.

  • Lol. I agree. Thay're talking Gerard Butler. I don't know about him man. He's good, but I don't think he's quite right for the part.

  • yeah but gerard butler pussied out because of all the negative responces XD

  • that's a good thing i'm sure he didn't want to ruin the movie.

  • Why remake it at all?

To fill it with more CGI bullshit?

  • ya i know. if any movie deserves a remake its escape from LA XD

  • The remake is canned.

There was suppose to be a video game too but that got canned.

Also JC was suppose to make a third, Escape From Earth but I don't think that's gonna happen

  • There was going to be a video game for PS2 & XBX. The release date was supposed to be sometime in summer 2004, but due to one of the producers deaths, it got scrapped.

A shame really...I really, really wanted to play it too!

  • Yea I was willin to try myself. I wonder how much of the game was done..

  • Well, let's just take comfort in the fact that most video games based off of films aren't very good games. There are exceptions of course, but the odds are against it. We can just hope that, because it was never finished, it wouldn't have been good and it's better this way. Haha....

  • Yeah really, it would've been an awesome video game too.

  • Yeah, because the addition of CGI really helped the sequel sooo well. (sarcasm)

70s and 80s movies, especially ones by Romero or Carpenter, should be treated like artifacts and not remade. The films of today can't hold a candle to what was going on 20-30 years ago.

  • this is soooooooooo cool. favorited.

  • THis should have been on Metal gear

  • yep, woulda been a sneaky reference, as well as giving credit to the inspirationXD

  • Well done, that sounds really cool actualy lol

    The 8-bit beat sounds good

  • Awesome. Just Awesome.
