Personally, I tihnk this would be TOO good of a mix for the system to handle. I would expect alot of sounds not being able to be there....but it's fun to hear this version none the less.

that picture this guys used for the background youv got to wander because that's the crisler building at the back no where near liberty island how the hell does lady libertys head get in the middle of the city
Interesting fact. On many many interviews and documentaries, JJ Abrahams has been quoted that Cloverfield was inspired by that beheadded Statue of Liberty head and actually 'escaping from New York'.
@philandrewroywatson I often wonder if this was John Carpenter's way of telling Hollywood to shove it considering the story was written after the Watergate Scandal. more of a symbolism that liberty was more or less dead as America had now become a policestate which was carried over to the maximum in Escape From LA with all most all civil liberties being stripped from Americans.
Perhaps a side story about a group of falsely imprisoned 'inmates' in one of these prisons, who attempt a break out during all the shit that happened in the movie. Or something....
If you watched the behind the scenes features you'd see that wasn't actual CGI. Because of their budget and the amount of money needed for other practical effects, they created a model of the city, lit it with fluorescent lights, and lined the buildings with string lights.
There was going to be a video game for PS2 & XBX. The release date was supposed to be sometime in summer 2004, but due to one of the producers deaths, it got scrapped.
A shame really...I really, really wanted to play it too!
Well, let's just take comfort in the fact that most video games based off of films aren't very good games. There are exceptions of course, but the odds are against it. We can just hope that, because it was never finished, it wouldn't have been good and it's better this way. Haha....
Yeah, because the addition of CGI really helped the sequel sooo well. (sarcasm)
70s and 80s movies, especially ones by Romero or Carpenter, should be treated like artifacts and not remade. The films of today can't hold a candle to what was going on 20-30 years ago.
Wow... "This" must be what they played at Sagila's "funeral".

We need a second NES era, completely go back to 8-bit and see what we can do with it today... And then...
Make Escape from New York the game.
That's how good this remix is, I'd actually like to see Escape from New York on the NES now XD

Maybe it's symbolic as to how fucked up New York got.
Alternatively, THE ARTIST DIDN'T CARE.
Also alternatively, the statue was intact in the movie. Perhaps it was a foreshadowing of Cloverfield.
