I agree that the T in lgbtq gets the least of everything but the most of pain. May things get better for them. Im glad im from a somewhat semi modern conservative asian society because we find people like them rly cool and we kinda rave at the fact and those ppl are actly socially popular! :)
I try and try to be open and not judge people on appearance. Every time I think I'm "mr. politically correct".. I find I have so much to learn. Bryan, Jay, Corina.... you have brought more into my own life than I would have ever experienced alone. I thank you for that. Corina has touched many people. Both in the family she chose and family she was born to. I will never have the opportunity to meet her. But I honor her memory. Thank you Corina.
Thanks to Bryan and to all our participants and to those who donated talent and resources in support of our 2010 Sacramento Transgender Day of Remembrance! More videos of the memorial will be posted on sacgender(dot)org/tdor
You're so brave to do this. This made me cry.....and I hardly ever cry. My heart goes out to you and everyone who is affected by such a loss and I hope that the world changes for the better so that people become more accepted in the future and decisions of suicide no longer need to be contemplated...
My university had a pretty big line-up for the week of Trans Day of Remembrance. We held a candlelight vigil outside the main building and read off names of transpeople who died just for being who they were. I'm so happy that people are at least beginning to take these things seriously. I just want you to know that I'll be thinking about Corina along with the others I know.
One of the most beautiful, heartfelt videos ever posted. Thank you for sharing this with us (as a tribute to a truly special person) and for being so strong, Bryan. You are as amazing as Corina - and that says a LOT.
That was an amazing speech, really makes me think about the people around me and how at this very point I am taking them for granted. Thanks for posting.
i havnt got a clue about what Corina was or who she really was. But i don't see how could someone just die on such a friend. the life is over for her and may rest in peace, though, it is totally irreponsible leaving people who loved her so much behind and letting them suffer from it. what a fool!
It infuriates me whenever I hear of a Lesbian, Gay, Bi or Transgendered person who commits suicide. It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem! I want to grab the religious communities (Christian, Muslim, Jewish) and shake them for their prejudice and superstitions which often leads to such actions (especially amongst the young). When are these supposed "godly" people going to understand the devastation their bigotry brings??? And they wonder why people are moving away from religion!!!
Love you guys!!! Sounds superficial since we've never met, but I do care. That had to be difficult to speak with such heartache, but you did great and spoke so honest! Huge HUG from me.
I watched his video like 4 times and it brought tears to my eyes every time. What a beautiful thing to do for such a wonderful friend. Through you two friends we all know who she was and that's an incredible gift to give to someone.
Just like you Bryan ~ so beautiful ~ such a loving, compassionate & giving soul. Corina shall ALWAYS & in ALL WAYS, be right by your side & a mere whisper away!
Geeezzzzz you must make God feel so proud & so joyful that at least one of his human creations turned out SO perfectly!
Love & LIGHT to you & all those precious & dearest to you,
This is so heartwarming. Although I'm sad to say that this is a scary thing, and happens everyday, I'm so glad there are people lke you who gives hope. I do hope to be like when I'm older, and spread hope like you do. I have transgender friends, and I too am not straight, thank you for setting a wonderful example, and being strong.

Bryan, I know that must have been so hard for you. But, I know you made Corina proud, if it's possible for her to hear you, I know how happy she must have been to hear you say you could never be angry at her. I bet today you are her HERO!!! Hugs~Tabatha
Last night I lit a candle and looked over a list of transgender people who have been killed. The list was inhumanely large. I long for the day when not a single person's name would have to added to that list.
Great speech Brian. You have my condolences. Coming out myself has allowed me to accept and understand other people's struggles to just be themselves, whoever they feel they are.
I never knew anything about this day. Probably because I live in the South, where we're expected to treat the LGBT community like lepers, or worse, and if we don't, we get treated like lepers, or worse.
Rest in peace, Corina. It is clear you were dearly loved. I hope that wherever you are right now you are happy and at peace. My thoughts go out to you, your family and all of your friends.
Bryan gave a very good speech. Very emotional and heartfelt and found it sad to hear him talk about a friend. It is great that you decided to come and speak about this issue and I really admire you guys for everything you do to help out the people of the LGBT community (and just people in general) Again great job Bryan.
Thank you for this. Bryan you did a beautiful job. The most gifted speakers are the ones who speak from the heart. Not for one second did I doubt you were doing just that. I am so sorry that we lost your friend. Maybe we can all hold tight to those that are left and are feeling such hopelessness and despair. Much of the time there is nothing we can do, but we must keep trying. The transgendered community is ours. They are our brothers and sisters.
that honestly made me sob so hard i thought i would break in two...for someone to love someone so much like that, it means a lot, i hope the people who i love and hold dear can say the same for me...im sorry for your loss bryan...thanks for taking up for people like me that sometimes don't always want to speak up cause we fear the outcome...thank you

Bless all of you for remembering. I used to take part in Days of Rememberence for the indigent of my community, and light a candle for one of them.
Bryan did very well. I had to stand up and say a reading and read a poem at my brother's funeral. I know how hard it is.
Very beautiful you came together to remember and to celebrate. You are true friends.
