The videos are amazing but when you go down to the game play the game sucks ass hard. Why not put more effort on the game play itself and make a better engine for it. Bewcause the trailers are meant to be really flashy, and this gameplay is still early development, so the graphics will be way better than the retail release.

@moman007 I like the pulled back perspective and such. Armored Core has always been a niche game. I'm hoping the issues with weapon balance that were my big issues with 4 and 4A are fixed. At least PA and Kojima in general are gone and the game is a healthy mix of the older cores with the newer Quickboosting without it being the focus.

I've played all of the Armored Core games. I used to enjoy the more strategic, slow-paced action; but, the reflexes needed to play a more complex Armored Core (4 & For Answer) was significantly more enjoyable. The soundtrack for later games was disappointing, though.

Haha that is true! But, there's why I rarely use sniper weapons in multiplayer. In fact, I rarely use anything but massive chain missiles that even Aaliyah boosters can't dodge :).
@7Epitaph true but missiles are commonly considered to be cheap in a way no offence meant it's a common misconception the are those who just spam missiles and those who actually develop a style about them witch take a good bit of skill i remember back when i was a charge up tactics player i would tricks missile into hitting theyre own ac.that was as close as i got to a missile focus but i knew if i used missiles alot i'd get addicted to spamming them so ,i only focus on them when dodging.
Well missile spamming is cheap, but when faced with someone who does nothing but quickboost, its very satisfying. If I run into a decent player (if ever), I usually won't use chain missiles at all. But, I'm not someone who really cares how pissed off people get - especially if they voluntarily disadvantage themselves when they decide not to use a certain weapon just because it's "cheap".
I am in America and my first AC game was Last Raven. I bought For Answers for the Xbox360 a few years later. Since playing FA, I couldn't go back to the low speed and boost times of Last Raven. I honestly hope they are keeping with FA's movement style.
honestly i like what they are trying to do with armored core. it has so little interest in the West, they really need to make this series approachable by new players for once.
i agree in my opinion ac silent line was the last realy good game in the series after that the easiest way to beat the games was high firepower weapons that had enough ammo to get through the mission or arena battle and not realy any technique was involved in combat wich on ac4 ruined weapon diversity i hope this one will prove diiferent to me all ac's from nexus to acfa were realy sub par
However economically AC makes more sense for the vendors get a lot of hype sell as many discs at $60 as you can. Then people get bored fast and move on to shell out for the next over-hyped game.

@randycwyatt I don't think enough people got it's value, because it did have quite a bit of hype once it came out. I also think it was drowned by Halo 3 and CoD 4, it lost a lot of players to that. It was unique and amazing, and I still have hope that something will come of it one day. Hell, Starwars battlefront 3 is already being worked on by spark unlimited and even though those producers suck, the fact that it's being made is enough for me.

Slightly wrong on both counts. It's not a demo, it's an extremely early build simply to show off some gameplay. The graphics are barely done, what you see here are placeholders while the devs continue working on the graphics.

Im curious to know if the controls will still be interchangeable from "type a" to "type b" seems to me that they've dumbed down they controls to make it easier for the players...however maybe its just to show basic movement blah blah...2nd staging and 3rd staging is something id consider "advance" control movements and "chain boosting"
Staging was poorly thought out and was only an AC4 generation innovation. As I used my shoulder and trigger buttons for the same strafing/looking up and down controls that they are used for traditionally, I could not use their staging abilities because of the limitations of the other buttons. Forcing you to use a certain button or else you suffer performance wise isn't a good idea, and needs to be removed. We should be able to fight well with whatever buttons we prefer.

If i rember correctly, the same button setup you use was the same for AC games such as master of the arena. However AC4/ACFA instilled autolock, so you didn't have to use shoulders and triggers to look up and down to get a lock lol. Regardless iv seen plenty of players kick ass without second staging. but having the option would be nice.
A little annoying to see the initial boost your AC can take is similar to quick boosting. The very limited nature of it though is nice, but still.. Will we be able to dodge and maneuver around stuff with out constant use of "easy button quick boosting" ? Will boosting put an enormous strain on our energy like in the older games? It seems like one can ground boost indefinitely... worried it's going to be more of the same. =(
@onigojira It's split. The regular boost is infinite, however they are not strong enough to truely fly. So they can allow you to power jump and power glind, but you can't get higher than the peak of your jump unless you wall jump. Wall jumping from another video has shown you can also use it as a boost in speed, similar to QB'ing. Without the QB I'm sure the movement is going to be similar to classic AC, where you didn't have QB to save your life but your supurb movement skills. :3
Awesome. Not sure how I feel about being limited to jump height, but at least it stops people from tweaking their mechs to always be zipping high in the air, forces you to stay relatively close to the ground. I feel cautious about it but am eager to see how it works.

Well missile spamming is cheap, but when faced with someone who does nothing but quickboost, its very satisfying. If I run into a decent player (if ever), I usually won't use chain missiles at all. But, I'm not someone who really cares how pissed off people get - especially if they voluntarily disadvantage themselves when they decide not to use a certain weapon just because it's "cheap".

@randycwyatt I don't think enough people got it's value, because it did have quite a bit of hype once it came out. I also think it was drowned by Halo 3 and CoD 4, it lost a lot of players to that. It was unique and amazing, and I still have hope that something will come of it one day. Hell, Starwars battlefront 3 is already being worked on by spark unlimited and even though those producers suck, the fact that it's being made is enough for me.

Im curious to know if the controls will still be interchangeable from "type a" to "type b" seems to me that they've dumbed down they controls to make it easier for the players...however maybe its just to show basic movement blah blah...2nd staging and 3rd staging is something id consider "advance" control movements and "chain boosting"

Staging was poorly thought out and was only an AC4 generation innovation. As I used my shoulder and trigger buttons for the same strafing/looking up and down controls that they are used for traditionally, I could not use their staging abilities because of the limitations of the other buttons. Forcing you to use a certain button or else you suffer performance wise isn't a good idea, and needs to be removed. We should be able to fight well with whatever buttons we prefer.

If i rember correctly, the same button setup you use was the same for AC games such as master of the arena. However AC4/ACFA instilled autolock, so you didn't have to use shoulders and triggers to look up and down to get a lock lol. Regardless iv seen plenty of players kick ass without second staging. but having the option would be nice.

A little annoying to see the initial boost your AC can take is similar to quick boosting. The very limited nature of it though is nice, but still.. Will we be able to dodge and maneuver around stuff with out constant use of "easy button quick boosting" ? Will boosting put an enormous strain on our energy like in the older games? It seems like one can ground boost indefinitely... worried it's going to be more of the same. =(

@onigojira It's split. The regular boost is infinite, however they are not strong enough to truely fly. So they can allow you to power jump and power glind, but you can't get higher than the peak of your jump unless you wall jump. Wall jumping from another video has shown you can also use it as a boost in speed, similar to QB'ing. Without the QB I'm sure the movement is going to be similar to classic AC, where you didn't have QB to save your life but your supurb movement skills. :3

Awesome. Not sure how I feel about being limited to jump height, but at least it stops people from tweaking their mechs to always be zipping high in the air, forces you to stay relatively close to the ground. I feel cautious about it but am eager to see how it works.
