  • i heard nickelodean is making a theme park out of this

  • @EpicNoobBoyTV not even funny

  • the poor pitiful dead stuffed animals,& the sad song really deives home how sad this really is/was....great video!

  • It's a shame that they didn't clean it up and try to at least salvage some of it. I can't get over how many stuffed animals there were and the decent condition they were in.

  • I just want to go there and start help cleaning up and repairing the place.

  • i wonder what animals live there?

  • @nancybellz123 Good thing. I saw on another video underneath the prices it said "No refunds or rain checks" lol They didn't have money to rebuild the park let alone give anyone their money back.

  • The abandoned stuffed animals sadden me.

  • 1:00 Poor Scooby!

  • Never won that prize u always wanted??Well now your chance to get it for free!:D

  • It looks like it was nuked.

  • I guess it was a creepshow.....a place that should have lots of noise, sounds and bells, laughter.

  • Fascinating video. Brilliant piece of work.

  • Not anymore nick decided not to but another company is attempting cleanup

  • The people from Nickelodeon were looking to buy and work with it.

  • i didnt know new orleans had any amusement parks, but then again i never been there.

  • Amazing.

    Simply amazing.

  • 2:16 :(

  • Wats that song

  • Nice choice of music! (though seriously, couldn't you have let the video run five seconds longer and not chopped the end of the song?) Great photographs of a fascinating and sad site.

  • Is this place closed????

  • @Chriscubsfan they tore it down :(

  • @truashantifan1 did they?!?!

  • @charlottepink54 i'm pretty sure they did, on the news they said it was scheduled to b torn down january of this year,,, so many good memories :(

  • @Chriscubsfan Yes. hurricane katrina hit it, and nobody has done anything with it since.

  • I know there's been talk of a new owner taking it up but from what I can see, it might be cheaper just to build a new theme park than all the effort it'll take cleaning this up and getting it into operation shape.

  • It is so sad, yet I still want to see it so badly. Too bad I'm only 14. :'(

  • @thecrapsmasher How old do you have to be?

  • @melanie3298 Well, when no one will take you to where you want to go, you need to be able to drive. And I meant to say 13. I accidentally typed 14. But it still doesn't matter.

  • It sad to see this. I went there when it opened just as Jazzland and it was amazing. Didn't go back when Six Flags bought it out. But I'm amazed still at how they let it go like that.

  • @MissNisi: I wouldn't take them if I were you. Might I remind you, this part was once completely submerge in contaminated swamp water. I suggest you leave them there.

  • Its sad to see a great theme park beginning to rot

  • My best childhood memories come from this place, and it's so sad to see it all gone

  • can someone tell me how many visitors went to the park a year before the hurricane

  • some of those pictures looked amazing must of been creepy going there

  • @panpanfarmason ;) i can imagine but why did you only uploaded this now ?

  • when people visit this park, could they just take the teddy bears for free? or weren't you allowed?

  • @MissNisi You're not even supposed to go into the park. If you could take something I would take those arcades in a heartbeat. But it kinda doesn't make since, I mean they're just going to trash it anyway. Oh well. :(

  • very errie but you have taken some lovely pictures aside from the subjects of course

  • Aw all those ride things look so fun...

  • awww...look at jester's head....the thing is i havent been back home in like two years but when i see these pictures i remember it all...even the lady sitting in the chair..makes me cry...RIP Jazzland...and to the younger ones....RIP Six Flags NO

  • I can't believe they just left it. it's so sad. a true sign of the times. i'm from that area, born and raised...i never go out that way any more.

  • sadly unforgettable

  • i really wanna go here and take everything

  • omg dude those video game machines are worth a lot of money

  • @shadowdesmond they wouldnt work since they have water damage

  • @lollixpopxluver water damage does not crate havoc with wires or electric engines they dry out and function very well, dry wall can be replaced. totall bullshit.

  • @circusboy90210 SALT water, however, corrodes the crap out of electrical components and can render the entire ride very dangerous to operate, if operable at all. They would have to rewire every single electrical connection that had been submerged, whether to a control panel or a light bulb. The cost would be prohibitive unless the investor was certain they would get enough of a return to make the investment worthwhile.

  • @soyperiodista being as your probably not an electrical engineer nor an electrician, I will inform you. yes salt water is corrosive, but it takes time and more than a few days or weeks. secondly the flooding (not the hurricane caused the damage , faulty levees. there have been worse hurricanes in that area before katrina) was from levees containing fresh water. the wires are encased in plastic which protects them from corrosion. the real damage was people would not go out so no rebuild.

  • @circusboy90210 a few motors, paint , & canapy's was not the problem fixing the park would havr been a breeze, even though most of these things are waterproof anyhow, little drywall here paint , shovel up the mud , maybe few millioni dollars. IN the greater scheme of things very little actual damage. The local economy would not have supported it right after the hurricane people were more concerned with fixing their lives than riding a roller coaster. this is why it shut down. not the damage.

  • @circusboy90210 according to a Six Flags press release, shortly after Katrina, they had decided NOT to reopen the park in respects to all those that lost their lives, as well as their homes and business's, also no matter how much money they put into repairing everything and reopening, they would still have to pay the city, this way they don't owe the city anything because of Katrina, it's a win win for Six Flags, and an oh well for those that returned to New Orleans

  • @VegasLady1970 press releases mean absolutely nothing. why would they have to pay nola for reopeneing their own property. in reality there was no markey in the locality to support the park so they left it shut so the backklash would cause people to pine for it's re-opening.

  • @VegasLady1970 Actually, New Orleans had a 60 year contract with the Six Flags Amusement Park Corporation (might not be the correct name) to run the park, of which, only 6 years had passed. New Orleans sued Six Flags for not abiding to the contract and won the fight. Six Flags bailed out of the park probably cause they felt they would lose less money paying for breach of contract than attempting to rebuild the park.

  • @shadowdesmond

Not totally. It looks like a Ms. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong machine. Assuming the Ms. Pac-Man was a rerelease, it was probably only worth about $500, The Donkey Kong machine probably similiar.

And that's if they worked. Those machines wouldn't. They were underwater, at least partially, and were ruined. Repair would likely be impossible.

  • its like they just left the park for dead... that is really sad

  • Tweety Bird's got the plague......LOL

  • wow, the song, and the sign makes me think of left 4 dead 2! just missing the "closed due to sickness" instead of storm, and there you go! oh and of course, missing the zombies, but whatever :P

  • i went there when i was little with my mom and dad and sis and i remember riding the water logs and i went up front and i got soaked goo times i also saw that some one put 'welcome to zombie land kids!' on the small welcom sign so please dont take or do anything more before they demolish it

  • How sad!! I hear its being demolished in Jan.2011

  • Does it still look like that? With all of the toys and things still there? Oh gosh i want to go there before they get rid of it all!

  • @pierzedntattooed the toys are full of mold but it has rusted WAYYYYY more in the past 2 years

  • I don't quite understand why they didn't even prepare for the storm. They didn't board up anything, and left all the merchandise out! It looks as if everyone didn't even bother to put things away when the shift ended, and just walked away without a care in the world. This makes me sad.

  • @pierzedntattooed Becuase bording up a park takes a TON of money and they all left when they ordered an evacuation.

  • I don't know why, but this really startled me. it's so eerie, and I don't even know why it freaked me out...

  • @kat2156 do u live in this citry?

  • @gotthkid2

New Orleans? No, not at all. But my friends told me about his video, so I decided to check it out. :)

  • I'll delete any racist diatribe that comes up here so don't waste your time leaving it.

  • @panpanfarmason you took this by yourself?

  • @meezyrmcrs4ever I did, over 3 years ago now. I was with a friend at the time though. It was a major creepshow and I can't really imagine cruising in there all by my lonesome.

  • @panpanfarmason whats that @1:05?

  • @TheMarkc It's a giant stuffed dog wearing a cape. Some old cartoon character from the 80's I think...

  • @panpanfarmason It's underdog!

  • gee, sure is racist around here

  • because only black people live in new orleans

  • This is FEMA's Legacy

  • Outstanding!!! Thanks for posting!

  • your telling me that makes you sad my name is katrina

  • This makes me soooo sad!

  • FREE TOYS!

  • @funspot101 OMG I KNOW! I want to go in there so bad you know they would have had to have left a few toys

  • @chandler907 the weird thing is they're scattered all over the place o.o

  • it is very well fenced and did have security

  • It doesn't look like any one has looted or vandalized the park. Very interesting.
