In a true Islamic State:

-Non muslims are not free to worship God and preach their religion

-Leaving Islam is punishable by death

-Jews and Christians have to pay a Dhimmi tax, in return for protection given their inferior status.

-People who are not Jews, Christian or Muslim cannot reside in the Islamic state at all

-Churches and synagogues cannot be built, and existing ones are not allowed to be repaired

-Questioning Islam publicly is an arrestable offence

@dartgummo Not true my friend. Had you bothered to read a bit about islamic history you would have know religous liberties in an islamic state are not unlike those which are in America and much of the western world nawadays.

1) Non muslims are allowed to pratice their religion freely.

2) Yes, leaving islam is punishable by deat

3) Non muslims have to pay a tax, but this is an equivalence tax, as muslims are obliged to pay zakat (2.5% of their income)

@dartgummo 4) People from all religions are allowed to reside within an islamic state as was the case during the time of the 1st Kalifa (ruler) after prophet muhammed's death. Thousands of sun worshippers lived peacfuly in Madina, which was then the capital of the islamic state.

5) Churches and synagogues can be built and renovated, however this is not done with the states money. Proof of this is most obvious in egypt and jerusalem. Even during the crusades christians were allowed peligrimage.
