here in america if i event go to the front of the line to make a right at a red light people freak out. plus one time out of ten if i pass someone who is going slow they speed up and start riding my ass. no one likes us over here.
I love how you were lane splitting so slowly and mostly relaxed, and the cop with the siren and flashing lights wasn't going much faster, if any. Goes to show you that if you wanna lane split in the states, just keep splitting when you see the cop haha.
@zane1os It's common practice to have the right indicator on (some use hazards but mostly right indicator). You don't have to, there's no law or anything, it's really just indicative of your intentions that you're splitting.
How awful for the people way in back of the line of cars. I can see where lane-splitting is useful. But it would be one more thing to worry about when riding. People around here don't look. Usually because they're too involved with their cell phones. Ride safe, my friend!
In America at least if there is a call that involves guns or serious accident (over the radio) cops swarm like flies coming from all over to get to that incident.
@cakesnifferweaz In CA you frequently see ten highway patrol cars gathered around the aftermath of a small collision. Gives them a chance to shoot the breeze instead of working, I guess.
When I totaled my bike I only had one police car show up, but I got three fire trucks!
Hey Zeo, I agree with all your points on splitting....the when where how and the big wave.
I like the fact that your emergency vehicles sirens are like the British one's......LOUD!!!!
Our's are quiet because people complained that they were too loud and disturbed their sleep, or scared the kids or something stupid like that.

@brotherblonde BB! Nice to see you still around!
Yeah it's great because it means even I can hear them with earplugs in.

should have followed the cop to get thru !

I'd get a car door to the front/side if I tried to lane-split here in Texas (most places).

Looked like a close shave going through there.

@pulse0000 It's all camera tricks, the wide angle makes it seem faster and scarier than it really is. There's always plenty of room for me. :)

HD170 is excellent at night, and a very good example of lane-splitting at a safe speed. Fricking rubbernecking gets on my nerves.

That is some tight/narrow lanesplitting! No wonder you hate saddle bags.

I did a bit of research on the non HD170, and it was OK, So I bit the bullet and bought a HD170 (non stealth).

Did you have you hazard lights on? Or one indicator, which one?
And I've got to say it's great to see you doing all these vlogs in HD. I'm glad you didn't disappear.

@zeocen Not a practice I've come across here in the UK, But makes a lot of sense. Think I'll give it a go.

@onejillion Yeah you definitely need to be proactive in your own safety here! But car drivers are pretty good to us which is nice.
