its kind of funny and kind of sad at the same time that this guy played in front of a crowd of 110,000 for dispatch's last concert, and then two years later or whenever this is he is opening up for some random band to a small crowd. Then, one year later, with dispatch again, he plays at three sold out shows at msg. Its scary how well known dispatch is and how little known state radio is

the lead singer was from dispatch... his name's chad urmston and when dispatch broke up he formed another band with musicians he knew from boston and thats how state radio was born

Dispatch is my favorite band of all time. Pete, Chad and Braddigan have all done good work post dispatch. Stat Radio's Us Against the Crown was exceptional.

What in the fuck was he thinking with his last album? I can handle some political commentary, but that was completely out of control. Apparently he doesn't understand his base fans want to have a good time and not sing along to Guantanamo anthems for two hours. A fucking shame...

It's all about the balance.

They way they did it, it's simply going to appeal to a different crowd, which they'll have to build up from scratch.

The Dispatch fans all give them a chance, but a lighter commentary, mixed in with the feel-good, make-you-want-to-get-up-and-da­nce jams they're used to would make people think, instead of just being aimed at a different crowd.

It's fine to be all politics, if that's your crowd, i.e. RATM. But these guys aren't known for it, so it's wierd.
