I walked around my neighborhood playing this on my Ipod once. Really fits that kind of atmosphere. I really hope that Yu Suzuki gets to finish the Shenmue storyline.

Hello all Shenmue fans!! I need help in trying to find a piece of music from the first game, that I have not been able to locate since I first heard it. It was an amazing piece of music, that I thought would be here, but to no avail. I believe it was when Ryo was having a dream, and I remember a bird flying, or something like that. It was an incredible piano piece, with those booming drums hinted throughout. I know I am not dreaming...lol Can someone please help me locate that song? Peace

A very memorable piece of music. It works so well with the atmosphere. I bought the ost years ago, thinking this and a full piece of the music played as the night falls, would be included, but they weren't. Good upload, thanks viperxeon.

No problem, once I get a copy of Shenmue 2 for the Dreamcast I'll set about ripping the music from that. The Xbox version won't work for some reason. I guess the anti-copy software on the disk is rather different.

The Feeling i got from it was the kick in effect waking up knowing his fathers gone

and that wandering about the area ppl talking to you but u are in a daze i reckon Yu Suzuki obviously encounterd this and exploited it in his game via his own feelings what do u lot feel of my opinion?

I agree 100%, you explained that exactly what i always thought of this beginning.

Its amazing how Yu Suzuki managed to give us that effect, he made us become Ryo emotionally. This ambient track is what completes the whole "Daze" feel as you mentioned, its a feeling where your in a confused state, where you feel like your reality is a dream which Ryo probably feels like at this part of the game, but a refreshing start to Ryo's life.

Brilliant refreshing track, really suited the morning feel.

This is the best track in the whole game, hands down. I used to just leave it on in the background sometimes and not even play, i just wanted to hear the ambient music! it was so soothing.  What a great way to start the game too, just walking around in the morning rain exploring the town.

It really suited the early mornings, when walking around Dobuita through the market stalls, watching the people do their daily routines minding their own business.
