I dropped my Garmin-ASUS on concrete and know the power button won't work (I think thats whats broken), the phone's display works fine, I plug it in to charge but unlike the iPod it just stays on the Charging screen when its been shut-down. Please respond because I <3 this phone!!!
ive got the phone im actualy writing this from my a50 its a pretty good phone if you know how to use it and download the right apps and btw it does have multi touch not the best but it has it not in the main screen but it is in multi touch games
Can anyone tell me why when I instal youtube on my nuvifone a50 I can only enter a couple of times and then when I try to enter again it shows me "forced close"
I want to have live wallpapers for this phone, but this phone don't have that options. I've try installing a different launcher with live wallpapers it end up didn't work plus it made my home screen > theme options disappear. Master reset probably will fix it. If anyone know how to modded this phone to use live wallpapers please send me a tutorial on how to do it. thanks.
I had that phone and i hate it,the touch screen stop working after 2 months and a lot of applications of android market doesnt working whith this phone. the gps worked partially he is not update. The keyboard work slowly and the letters are pretty small. I was disappointed because it is a cool phone :(
by the way... in 2011 - the browser does support the pinch - multi touch feature... and as he showed it does that in the maps view and photos as well... the screen is not as vivid as the htc desire hd is but its good enough for you to see and you only notice that when you compare it to the htc otherwise its no biggie...
beware this is a highly cheap phone, using a tft touch display and MULTI-TOUCH IS NOT SUPPORTED WHAT-SO-EVER multi-touch is a capacitive touch screen feature not a ressistive feature, pinch may or may not work but its not multi touch
@WiserAsIGrow Shut up, i own one and it works just as good as my HTC Desire HD and as my IPhone 3gs... and its cheaper then them. the GPS maps are fantastic and it also tells me where the speed cameras are and where its cheaper to buy petrol for the 1st 12 months its free... the maps are updated for free forever... after my iphone was stolen i have decided against ever again spending more then 500$ on a phone... its just not worth it
For those that don't know the update for the phone has come out and you can get it at the Garmin Asus web site. It changes the phones apperance and I think its alot better.
@o9klOl yes there are two main options... "classic home" (what is on the video) and there is "breeze home" what i like better... cuz u can put different wallpapers and put you apps where you want :D
Ok , Please answer. I have this phone ive had it for about a month now, It will not play any Media sounds, but only the ringer. Please tell me how to fix this.
Hey everybody... not sure how quick this question will get answered but I'll state it anyway. I'm looking at a new phone for my upcoming birthday, roughly 3 weeks from now, and I'm tossing up between 2 phones. They are the Garmin-ASUS nuvifone A50 and the LG Optimus GT540. I was just wondering if anybody can give me a rough Idea of which is better. I'll note that I am more keen on apps than the navigation side of things but I don't mind having nav. there. So does this run well with apps?
Majority of these reviews are showing this phone using its old 1.6 android, 2.1 update is out now. So just like an iphone OS improvements, the gui is now more slicker and prettier. all these reviews based on the 1.6 are out dated. LIke reviewing an iphone running its old OS when they could not do mms.
Bought this for 199 aussie. updated to 2.1 android. Loving it. Great performance. does what i need to do in a phone. faster then my old iphone 3g. Love the voice assisted gps. Love the freedom to mod and no longer feel in the apple walled garden. Ive owned all models of Iphone. Of course I can buy iphone 4 for about $800-900 bucks but bang for buck sheer winner for me.
I have this Phone and I love it I would highly recomend this phone to thoes thet have delivery driving jobs or thoes that travel by car alot or just like to drive, I highly recomend this device
I own this phone, and the GPS is awesome. Works great in California. And i get an accuracy i have is better then 16 feet. I have had many high tech phones including the Vibrant from Tmo. The GPS on the Vibrant is problematic. If you loose 3g then the Nav is worthless. This phone it don't matter if you lose 3g still functions as a GPS. You can take a call and nav will continue in background.
I can't wait for my new Garmin fone to arrive. I drive for a living so this makes a lot of sense for me. I know it isn't for everyone, but that's okay. Those others can go buy their way more expensive iPhone, that doesn't work as it should. Which will just keep letting the GPS / phone go down in price. $129.99 with 2 year contract. My credit is s*** and T-Mobile didn't even think twice about selling me this awesome new toy. Thanks, Garmin, for reading my mind.
i have a question if you are useing the navagation and you get a phon call what happens then can you answer and use the nav or it will get disconnected?
@ebh972 I have one.......the call rings in and the gps continues to work.....I have not had any issues at all. Runs great and has been a huge blessing.
that phone looks awsome. runs android and has full sat/gps. asus does a great job on their computer chips and garmin does a great job with the marine gps i have, so why not combine it all to make this awesome phone? cant wait for it to be in usa. i just hope i wont break it.
It looks very nice... definitely belongs to 2010 :) ... I would not buy it just because it's coming from Garmin / Asus - not the most recognizable brands in the mobil phone market...
I'm not to pleased about this device. I don't really like the design or the Home Screen. IMO the new Asus Nuviphone M10 looks better, comes with more Ram and Storage, but it has Winmo 6.5 which may be a turn off for some but I don't mind.
Definitely better than their previous phone :D I wouldn't get this to use as a normal phone though. This is good for like those people are driving often, especially taxi drivers XDD
I hate that for every video overview of a phone that I see, when they discover that it doesn't have a micro-USB port on the device, it's considered "unfortunate". This device has a mini-USB. As do many HTC devices. Not only is it a sturdier-feeling connection, but before micro came out, EVERYTHING used mini. I have a crap ton of mini-USB cables laying around, but if I got a new phone with micro, I'd have to go out and buy new cables and chargers.
Huge improvement over the first one. Unless this is 99 dollars with contact I can't see people spending the money when you have Android 2.1 devices out with NAV. Put micro usb, 2.1, 3.6" screen and dragon processor then we might have a very nice phone that I would buy.
Why is it that they don't sell this phone in europe anymore? Anyone know if they'll reproduce them soon?
