Thanks for pointing out this video. It was inspiring to know that the truth can still be found. Very deep thoughts in a short amount of time. I too would enjoy knowing more.
The truth is the next generation is being taught to follow and not lead. Compartmentalization on a need to know basis is why we perceive silos. We are now 'Human Resources', taught what to do and ignore most everything else.
I am really trying to take more of an appreciation for art.. :)
Finally, validation that breaking out of my "silo" life and following my passion is not only ok, but the right thing to do. My soul resonated with John Jay.
Wise words, and in them can be found the very reasons for the ad industry's ongoing demise... and why a truly empathetic, humane communication design industry will soon thrive.
beautiful... as a creative professional I appreciated the rawness of this piece. in a cut throat commercial environment it's rare to feel honesty, truth, and genuine passion at a human level for our trade... but at our roots as creative's I'm sure we all began from these simple ideals.
Ace lessons from a genius and decent human being. Well worth the 3 mins of your life you will give it.

John Jay is a legend. This video is really-really well done. W+K isn't the greatest agency in the land for no reason.
