I just took mine out today - after 6 1/2 years :] They weren't infected but I play contact sports and...well that's an accident waiting to happen :p When done properly with either surface bars or in my case PTFE tubing, they will heal & last for a long time with proper care.

corset peircing often go to deep as they have to be seated quite deep for the weight they hold which is why they have such a high rejection rate makes me sad though they look soooo sexy done right

Hey girly, I went through the same thing in 05. Had a full set of 12 and they were done too deep. Scarred me pretty good for a few years, but they're finally gone. Lesson learned eh?

The were not to deep, but simply wrong jewelry. If you want to heal that take SURFACE BARS. Rings don't budge. The piercer, who did that to you should have known that, if he didn't, he should not call himself "piercer". There are attachments to screw onto the suface bars wich looks like ring-halves. (still during long healing discs should be weared)

Ok, there is a kind of philosophical debate. Some say: "Surface peircings - do them deep, they are more stable". Others say: "no do them shallow, deep means longer healing time and bigger infection riscs". I'm with the first group. My permanent Suspension Surface Piercings in my back, are really deep, large and long (60mm long, min. 10mm deep (skin surface to deeper edge), 5mm diameter. And it healed well... (classical, but large sized surface barballs)
