  • Knew a dude in Texas bit by a huge rattler...one fang on side of hand, almost lost his arm, because hospitals wouldnt believe it was a snake bite, so a friend had to drive across San Antonio.... kill the snake (in a big cage) and bring it to show docters. This happened at the third hospital, they told them to get out after the first two, cuz he was drunk as well. Fucked him up baaaaadly. His arm is still deformed.

  • I also live in Tucson. This video was so scary!! You went to TMC right? Looked like it. I'm sorry about the costs. I wish America could get with the program. No one here is smart enough to understand the true concept about universal healthcare.

  • OMFG !!! for that money, im sure the doctor wuld have bought ford shelby super snake after the treatment, anyway tats good to hear shes well ;)

  • America is all about money.. Love America(best country in my mind) but HORRID government.. such a fucked up and corrupt government.

  • She's got a great rack!

  • IF THEY DONT LIKE THE AMERICAN COSTS FOR MEDICAL THAN PERHAPS THEY SHOULD GO BACK TO THERE HOMELAND THEN!

  • @thebearjewkiller1976 whoa there buckaroo! No need to get all uppity. They shouldn't like the cost of health care in the states. No one should. HMO's have raped your people. Thank Nixon. Nothing but suckers in the land of the free, sticking up for the system that keeps them down. Better hope you never get sick or you may just have to take out that third mortgage. Looks like you have made a lot of friends on YouTube by the comments on your My Channel page.

  • @thebearjewkiller1976 P.S. Your caps lock is on. It's the button right below the tab. Cheers. 8)

  • @thebearjewkiller1976 Lian (the girl who got bitten) IS A US CITIZEN. Had I got bitten, my free travel insurance that I get with my free bank account in the UK would have covered ALL the costs. Up to 2 million dollars. I wish it had been me that got bitten. Lian was uninsured.

  • Well, you look like you're in a hell of a lot of pain and you may lose the arm, but on the upside you're still gorgeous!

  • yikes. 140 000?

  • wow shes pretty Fing hot :P

  • hey im glad ur gf is alright, but damnnnnn the fuckin american hospitals cost WAAAAAAAAAAY too much! do u know that in thailand(where i live), u could probably buy quite a few cars with that much money, and im talking about the good cars(not ferraris!)

  • $140,000! That's insane!!! Would have been about $20 here in sweden for a trip to the ER.

  • The rattlesnake was probably hunting

  • Hope you at least smacked it into a snake skin belt for 140 000 large..

  • $140,000 is horrible, but I would pay 10 times that to save my wife. I'm sure this guy feels the same! Glad to know she was fine and nice garden btw :)

  • @Rockman110886 and thats exactly why they charge that much because they know you will pay for for your wife's life!!

  • @Rockman110886 -- no one ever pays their hospital bills in american anyways ;)

  • @Lucidwindows lol lucky them.

  • That is in a book called Bitten By A Rattlesnkake

  • Comment removed

  • Brave woman, glad you are ok.

  • you gotta get up on the good foot! & no hospital docters, just blue sheild

  • They had to pay 140 000 $?! Where did they get that kind of money? It's like- become a homeless or die. For real now, how can anyone pay this kind of bill? Is there some kind of agency that gives some kind of loan or something? I honestly don't understand.

  • AMERICAN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM SUCKS !

SOOOOOOO GLAD I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA WOOO FREE HEALTH CARE :D

  • never been so proud of the nhs

  • $140,000 is almost as worse as the snake bite. Someone is getting a yacht off you guys. That sucks...

  • @kimbonut See that's the misconception everywhere. People think doctors are getting rich when, in fact, both physicians and emergency departments are going bankrupt at an ALARMING rate all over the country. The whole system is a disaster.

And that's spoken as someone who has practiced medicine in both the United States AND Australia. The ills in the U.S. system go a whole lot deeper than "greedy doctors."

  • one hundred forty thousand...............i should be a venom specialist and just cure snake bites.....

  • OHEMGEE! I saw you guys on T.V.

  • Hey there, I hope the girl who got bitten is now okay - did you have to foot the entire medical bill yourselves? If so, that is FUCKED UP.

  • searching for a rattle snake witch is highley tetorial when u hear it rattle and it flipflops pokin shit wit a snake -_-

  • where was the snake??

  • if snake bites made eyes that blue i want to be bitten. that was just very bad luck to be bitten without prior warning as usually is the case

  • The best thing to do is to stay calm and if possible actually carry the person so the blood dosen't rush too much as it causes the poison to spread. Consider yourselves very lucky that did not hurt her worse then it did.

  • USA health care summed up into 3 minutes.

  • After getting bit, should have tried harder finding the snake or at least get a pic of it so they know what anti venom she needs. I wouldn't got poking it with a stick though.

  • in america you have have to pay it yourself?

    answer pls

  • @justinn41 She would pay her insurance deductible and insurance will pick up the bill.

In the UK it costs just as much (if not more) but instead of being paid by insurance and paying insurance premiums, it's paid by the government and picked up through taxation.

There is no free lunch, someone pays for everything even when it's called "free."

  • getting bit by a rattle snake and spending 3 days at the hospital $140,000 WTF!

  • @greddy0513 yeah thats how it is in america I'm glad I don't live in that fucked up country

  • i no hah!

  • On tieing off the limb:

Unless you are a medic/doctor/etc. and you have gear right on hand, your PRIMARY concern is to get the person to a medical facility. Anything else you do is just a quick fix to hopefully buy the medical personnel a little more time. That being said, applying a tourniquet does not automatically condemn the limb. The military teaches for snake bites however, to use very tight wrappings (elastic if possible) over the bite and the entire limb-not a tourniquet.

  • I got bit by a rattlesnake, and it fucking hurts C:

  • do you have any scar now?

  • first bit is Fake

  • @saulstein ok steve irwin, however did you come to that conclusion?

  • @lmos26 because of the lousy acting, and the dubbed rattle.

  • lol Gotta be careful arizona has em everywhere id know i lived here all my life

  • That girl in the end was so fucking hot...

  • @360gunnings nice set on her:)

  • 140 grand. What a joke. Glad shes ok, but if you leave the eu. You gotta have travel insurance, Because most countries charge for health care. Many people think health care is free everywhere. I hope you had insurance to cover that cost.

  • What sort of precautions are you guys taking since this attack. What do you do differently now when you are out gardening as you were in the beginning of this video? I'm very glad to know that she was alright. I can only imagine how painful a Diamondback bite is.

  • that looked so fake in the beginning...

  • I'm glad she's ok....!

I'm from Michigan, and there's no way I would be tromping around in Arizona in flip-flops, sticking my hands into vegetation, without long sleeves and thick leather or Kevlar gloves (they make some nice bite resistant gloves), and I'd probably jam a stick in there first, just to be sure... At least it wasn't a Coral snake, what do they say, "Lite a cigarette, because it will be your last one..."

  • Yeah, what a fun adventure.I was recently bit by baby moccasin in TX - 4 days in and 2 doses antivenom (12 vials) and then out. Then back the next week for 5 more days because of cytotoxins, & tmt is massive antibiotics the nurses call "Raid"

My bill came to $110,000 USD! Thankfully paid only $3200 out of pocket, Cigna internat'l paid the rest (with their 'discounts' they paid about $60K) There is NO 1st aid any longer, all has changed, just go to ER immediately 4 antivenom, antibio's & ICE!

  • fuck the stop sign i woulda kept on goin

  • yeah i wouldn't try to find the snake. as soon as i heard it i would got the fuck outta there

  • $140k? wow here is aus it would be $0

  • @krazbar1 She likely has health insurance if she's in the US. She wouldn't have to pay $140,000. She would pay her deductible and insurance picks up the rest. My insurance I would pay $750 and the rest of it would be paid by insurance.

It's not $0 in aus. Your government pays for it and taxes everyone for the bill. You pay one way or the other, nothing is free - someone pays...

  • @gulfcoast4life And yet the Medicare levy in Australia is a whopping 1.5%.

I don't know about you, but most health care plans in the States cost a whole lot more on an annual basis than a tax increase of 1.5% would.

Moral of the story: the U.S. private payer / insurance health care system is the laughingstock of the developed world.

  • $140K for the snakebite care or her tits? Those are quite lovely...

  • And the bad thing is her credit will be fucked if she doesn't pay..

  • WOW, I'm so glad shes's okay.

  • Welcome to America

  • $140,000... we know who the real snakes are hey?

  • İ lmao'ed when he guessed 3,000$ hahaha

  • The video is not fake I even seen it on tv

  • The first part of the video was a FAKE re-enactment by a liberal gay brit!

  • OMG POP LADY I HOPE SHE IS OK

  • HOW LONG WAS HER ARM SORE AFTER THE BITE

  • Oh Good Lord! I wish all the best for you, girl!! You´ll recover soon!

  • I love the US, your debt is pretty screwed up and yet, being so much in debt you can't even get free health care. What the fuck does the US government use your tax money for?!

I got a few punches while walking home drunk, called an ambulance afterwards, came within 10 minutes on a saturday night, patched me up and then drove me home. Cost me, well overall, just my time nothing else. Lmao. I feel bad for the US.

  • DANG I went to tucsan and I found one of these wild...Now they seem very dangerous

  • wow at least that girls ok now , did you ever find the snake?

  • $500 just to get an ambulance in America

  • You're supposed to tie it off gently. Not tight like a turniqute (so), but just enough to slow down the blood. If u tie it off tight, ull .lose the limb.

  • @jarrantyler that wasn't the advice the paramedics or doctors gave us - the current advice is just to get to the hospital ASAP. Maybe they have different advice in different parts of the country though... That wouldn't surprise me!

  • @chrisandm i heard the best thing is to bite of the snakes head and drink its blood!!!! WTF AREYOU DOING IN THE DESERT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT TO DO IF YOU GOT A BITE FROM A RATTLESNAKE!!!! YOU DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT WAS!!! I SUGGEST IF YOU TOURIST WANT TO EXPLORE DO SOME HOMEWORK FIRST! YOU PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER!!! BEFORE I EVER GO ON A HIKE I HAVE A FEW ITEMS I NEVER GO OUT WITHOUT!!! KNOW WHATS AROUND YOU SO WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU DONT PANIC AND DIE! I MUST SAY GOOD JOB ON STAYING CALM!

  • @chrisandm You're only supposed to loosely tie it if you are more than an hour or so away from treatment.

  • @chrisandm ya tying it off gently will slow the venom like jarrantyler said. the reason you dont tie it in a way to cut off the circulation is it isolates the venom in the area below where you tied it off, thus allowing the venom to be more concentrated in that area and wreaking its havoc in that specific area. hence the lost limb mention

  • Yep, I'm an RN. $140,000 USD sounds right for that level care. I bet the anti-venom was very expensive.

  • $140,000? what in the fuck

  • @samsterno9 yup it cost $500 just to call an ambulance

  • It does sound fake at first because of the man's voice, it's like commentary acting or something might be cause he's british

  • At first i was like fake n gay but then i was like DAAAAAAAAMN cause thats alot of money.

  • @poisonwilliams what do you mean that's alot of money? It almost cost her her life!!!

  • DAMN!

  • aw you guys didnt tie off that hand? noticed the swelling damn near reached her shoulder!

  • @lmos26 apparently if you tie it off you'll lose the entire limb. Only thing modern medicine says to do is to get anti-venom FAST.

  • @chrisandm I've kept venomous snakes most of my life and was never unlucky enough to take a bite but I had always read that it should be tied off, especially if the venom is injected in an vein or artery, as it can reach the heart and kill you in minutes, Did they specify that losing the limb would be due to cutting off blood supply or from the concentration of venom unable to disperse? Looks like I need to re-read snake bite first aid :\

  • @lmos26 Yeah - apparently the first aid advice has changed quite a lot in the last 10-15 years or so. I think the concern is with the concentration of venom and lack of blood flow.

I guess if you're bitten in an artery, you'd want to cut off circulation, but I doubt your chances are very good anyway if a snake gets you there... :-o

  • @chrisandm

so you just happened to film this by accident?

  • @lmos26 The proper field treatment is to simply keep the limb lower than the rest of the body, apply ice and get to treatment ASAP.

  • @lmos26 i dont think they had time to think about it and lucky for them they were close to the hospital as it seemed on the video

  • God, that sound is scary. Poor girl =(

  • so cute!

  • Vials of anti-venom are around a grand alone, you'll need several for a venomous snake bite.

  • Wait, did she have to pay the whole $140k? What happens if you're extremely poor and will never have enough money to pay it back. Thank god for health funds in my country!

  • No snakes in NZ..thank God!. OUCH! that ruined your day in one split second didn't it Lady! Top marks to the camera guy there! so that's not a Hollywood sound then, they actually do make that sound..its a lot louder than I imagined! man I dunno if i'd be in jandals with those sorts of bloody things about, and in the strawberries!! the bastard!

  • You look more like Olive Oyl than Popeye my friend. LOL Couldn't resist. Hope all went well!

  • @homeworkhelp244

If by 'restricted' you mean enjoying being 5 times less likely to be murdered, far less likely to be raped, have lower crime overall, higher living standards and not hobbled by religion then yeah, I think I will stay thanks.

  • thats gotta hurt

  • $140,000, way to take care of your citizens US. :)

  • Was alone...

  • If she

  • @homeworkhelp244 Restricted? Haha, you truly have no idea what you're talking about. Go fire your assault rifle in to the air now, hillbilly! And keep doing all that you can to keep people like me away from America

  • i think i sore this on im alive

  • Some day they will stop using CroFab in massive doses to treat bites that can be treated better and more cost effectively with other antivenins. Sad they are still using that given that there are better options (cost and treatment). Sorry you were bitten, hope you healed well!

  • shes brave enough

  • holy fuck...all the more reason to hire a gardener...

  • Fu k u help

  • 140.000 or your life I would pay the money

  • lol @ the nose itch

  • Rattle Snake bite him. As i heard

  • Comment removed

  • @MissyFlesky123 moron

  • Fake bite scene, real hospital scene.

  • @svanderson78 moron

  • @TwiitchMcGee Dick face.

  • @svanderson78 What makes you say its a fake bite scene? How did she get in the hospital then?? You're a fool.

  • @Stillwater900 Ok dumb ass, here's what happened. She was bit by a rattlesnake, they went to the hospital and filmed it, somewhere along the line they decided to reenact the bite scene so the story would fit, who the fuck films their old lady getting bit by a snake and tells them to go in the house while they continue to film? come on you idiot.

  • @svanderson78 Thats your explanation? "who the fuck films their old lady getting bit by a snake and tells them to go in the house while they continue to film?" You think that no one would ever, ever tell them to go inside? And they would never continue to film??? I don't follow

  • @Stillwater900 You don't follow because you're a fucking imbecile.

  • @svanderson78 Riiiiiiiiight.. I don't follow because your theory doesn't have a line of logic. Chill out, go get laid.

  • Idk who Lian is, but I'm glad she was alright. Also, she's very beautiful :)

  • The bite and drive to the hospital are re-enactments and the rest is obviously real.

  • @corinanov moron

  • Ok, there are certain benefits of private health care. But what the hell is worth $140,000 in that treatment and why? I've got a strong feeling that American health authorities simply exploit people. They know pretty well that you will pay any amount to save your life or your limb.

  • @Parkinson9999: There is a Naturopathic Approach for Snake, Scorpion and Spider Bites on our channel in the comment section.

  • $140,000

  • Sorry for this double post that was my bro...

I've been stung by a scorpion but I think this would be ALOT worse

  • FALCON BITE

  • Thank god the snake didn't bite her boobs, cause she got great boobs!

  • The National Association of Snake Attacks and Snake Related Assaults (NASASRA) recommends not getting bitten by a snake.

If bitten the NASASRA advises against allowing yourself to be bitten again.

The NASASRA recommends these safety tips...

    1. Do NOT try to check a snake for cavities

    2. Do NOT attempt to milk a snake

    3. Do NOT put a snake in your pants

    4. Do NOT allow snakes to babysit children

    5. Do NOT ask snakes for directions

    6. Do NOT attempt to dress a snake

  • @DailylifeofHarrison 7. DO NOT take an apple from a snake.

  • @RedSandStudios hahah

  • @RedSandStudios hahah sub to me plz;)

  • $140,000 what the fuck is wrong with the US? Why the hell does it cost that much money?

  • i saw this on "I was bitten" or another show on animal planet

  • great tits

  • morphine itch rules :D but not when you get bit by a rattlesnake

  • nice tits

  • lol were studying snakes in reading and my teacher menchoned this hehehe i found it

  • and no TAX FREE too for kuwaities and everyone in the country

  • People who are saying in my counter blah blah it would cost 0 dollars or what ever... guess what....... in my country every single thing that has to do with health care is free... every single thing .. pills operation everything that is related to health care is completely free... i love kuwait !

  • fake????? i think its fake

  • I love having free health care :D

  • If health care is free in your country, how do you have doctors if they don't get paid.

  • @4selfjp They get paid by the goverment? Really not that hard :p

  • @ElizaLazarou Nothing is FREE! You are paying for it in some way or another or somebody else is paying it for you...

  • @scottieaf5691 well.. the difference is that paying for it through taxes is not nearly as expensive as insurance.. not to mention that this way everybody gets medical care. they don't have to check whether you are insured or not and if you are not just kick you out. they treat everybody the same way.

  • 140,000 $ LOL wtf is that price. in my country, health care is free.

  • Lol the only thing im sorry about is that you had to pay 140k.... in my country you wouldnt have to pay a cent.

  • @Serutos In America, most of us are smart and buy medical insurance, we all know the cost of our SUPERIOR health care system, so insurance is a wise choice. Lucky for the people who don't work at all or produce any type of living for themselves, they receive the same treatment, and don't have to "pay a cent". I pay almost $60,000 a year, (of my hard earned money), in taxes to the government, so I can pay for the treatment of these people. So, in my country, YOU wouldn't have to pay a cent.

  • @zpass05 The World Health Organization puts you at #37. That's 8 places below Morocco. SUPERIOR indeed.

  • @clemtinite The World Health Organization was ran by Gro Harlem Brundtland, Prime Minister of Norway, and was also an admitted socialist. She was quoted as saying that healthcare isn't about the healthcare itself, but how fair the system is. If you would actually do your own research, and not just watch a Michael Moore movie, you would notice that 18 of the world's top 20 hospitals are all in the US, including the top 3.

  • @zpass05 Your words were regarding your health care system, not the best privately operated hospitals in the world. The US health care system is abysmal.

Nice one trying to paint me with the Michael Moore brush too, mate. A classy and totally unpredictable move.

  • @clemtinite Every hospital or doctor that I have ever been to has been privately-owned. I get to choose any doctor or surgeon I want to with the insurance I pay for. My neighbor doesn't have insurance or money, and had a heart attack last year, and still got an ambulance and heart surgery, all "free" at a private hospital. 65% of private hospital's bills are paid by the govt. (tax money) through various programs. So, how are private hospitals not part of the "system"?

  • @zpass05 Anyone who lives in a nice area has a nice story or two to tell. The point is that a lot of people just can't afford insurance and don't live in a nice area like yours where private hospitals treat uninsured people for free. The system is considered poor if health care isn't available to everyone regardless of class or income. You know what is good about the US health care system? It's hugely profitable for those that run it.

  • @clemtinite This whole entitlement mindset that people have has got to stop. Nothing in life is "free". Everything requires money. If it is "free" to someone, my overly inflated tax money pays for it. If someone wrecks their car with no insurance, I do not feel sorry for them at all, they saved a ton of money by choosing not to pay insurance. You would be better off in life if you could get into your head that there are benefits to working hard and living a productive life.
