And do you really think that sneaking up on someone is the smart, and/or, safe thing to do? Some skilled people do not get startled so easily. And others who are not skilled strike out as a first response.

Sigh.. the intention is noble enough, but you're going about it the wrong way. A costume/gimmick does nothing but bring negative attention to yourself. Go back to dark street clothes (if you want to keep being "stealthy"), trade in the boken for a taser (fewer legal issues), and setup a personal digital cam (to cover your ass while you're "patrolling").

Right now, IMO, you seem to come across as a joke of a vigilante. No offense meant. Really. Just my take on it all.

The reasons for the foam bokken, you are not allowed to carry any weapons outdoors I do not advocate the breaking of any laws.

When I appear from the shadows with the foam bokken on my back giving a silhouette of a Ninja it does give a element of surprise with the silhouette of the Ninja.

Also the bokken can be strong enough to keep abit of distance between me and weapons like a knife, using the Bokken as an immediate blocking aid.

Everything I do is for a reason.
