i purchased a super 8mm version of the dentist in 1976 and it had this entire scene uncut in the movie so i dont know what the announcer is talking about
THIS IS AWESOME!!! but this footage was cut in 2 and used on the movie "Hollywood Outtakes and Rare Footage" that has this footage, and a blooper comp vhs video has the Jayne Mansfield Micky ROoney stuff. Also i saw this here reel at a film festival, but the film had turned all RED, and I videotaped it off the screen HERE IT IS look at my video "Am I the only one who has seen this before? I have had it for many years prior. " (can I make it a response?)
I know - that is - I have been told Fred Astaire was a talented dancer but in spite of all the accolades heaped upon him I can't avoid the conclusion that he really did look a bit of a prat.
Jayne had a lot more on top than I ever imagined....and her face her is very trim...she packed on about another twenty to thirty before she passed..I went to a store opening in South san francisco in the 60's. (White Front) and she showed up as part of the opening...indoors...and I got extremely close to her..they even had disco style girls dancing on poles with the shimmy dresses...well that wasn't disco back then..what was it called? Frugging?
The Marx brothers & Coogan scene is from a different thing, the short: Hollywood Without Makeup (1950's). BUT it doesnt include the part where Fredric jokes with Groucho! lol Jayne Mansfield, VERY BADLY tries to do Marilyn Monroe's cheesy voice!! Boris & Bela were SO FUNNY!
I almost fell down laughing at Mickey Rooney's:: "Who wants to be tall?!?!" And he just got funnier and funnier. "I'm standing in a hole" (looks down, etc) .Rooney is one of my all-time favorites! I wonder if he was married or between wives when this happened.
Sorry to find "fault" in your reasoning, but that was no earthquake -- the wily Mr. Fields set the whole thing up with shaking cameras, falling props and such, all for the sake of cheap publicity for the finished film. (Yet more proof that the man was a genius!) -- 1B2S
I wonder what that Buster Keaton clip with the tyre coming off the car is doing there.. it's a scene in Parlor, Bedroom and Bath so it's not an outtake.. still nice to see Buster briefly, anyway!
Jayne was HOT... before being decapitated.

Harpo was so damn adorable. The greatest man who ever lived. :-)

The "earthquake" was a ruse and everybody was in on it. Cameraman shook the camera, they rigged the rest. I think the director was the dupe.

Jayne is selling it way too hard. I wonder if she was coached to act like a whore in this clip. It's a disservice to Cantiflas.

Cantinflas...sad... I had forgotten all about him. He was a great comedian/actor; Mexico's national treasure.
