my own uncle haled horses to a slaughter house!! but throws horses never made it to the horse he saw that they were horses and brought them to me!! he call his boss and then the police his boss got fired and i got 45 horse now i have be working with for 5 to 6 munths!! and the ones i soled went to grate homes!!

ok those of you that think slaughter is a humane way to kill horses, you are seriously mistaken and you need to learn more. when horses are slaughtered first they get packed into those trailers. then, when they get to the slaughterhouse, they are shot in the head. horses are waiting in line watching this, knowing that they are next. the shot usually doesnt kill them instantly so they get hung by their back feet and chopped up alive. now how is that humane? its horrible. euthanizing is better.
What about all the people who have families to feed by having the job of working in the slaughter house? In this economy I would imagine they don't have the best resorces to beat out a collage grad who lost their job. They travel many more miles and endure alot more stress because somebody didn't think this whole thing through. Canadian facilities are now overcrowded and who knows what happens in Mexican facilities. one of my horses we bought from the sales as a broken 4yr old ready to be brought on - he is approx 10 now and we still have him and he is doing well. our other horse we were more or less given because his owner was off to fight in the war and she wanted somewhere he would be looked after. surely more people would love these horses

Okay everybody, Listen up.. Slaughter is necessary because they are UNWANTED. There is NO MAGIC PLACE these horses can go to. The only way to stop the slaughter, is to stop breeding. I know someone with a mare that will think its okay to breed. horses can live 30+ yrs. if you don't keep it its whole life it may end up in a slaughter house. FACT!!! @edfitzfish Absolutly correct. Seen as it's illegal in the U.S there are no regulations on transport of horses intent on slaughter. Once its legalized the conditions would improve. Plus what puts a horse above cattle, pigs chickens, turkey,deer,bear,gator, snake,and all other animals that can be used for human consumption? Don't get me wrong-I love horses have 2 of my own that are spoiled rotten and love to no end. :) :)

The people we should blame are ourselves for outlawing slaughter and ignoring the fact that it occurs in our neighboring countries. To ignore this fact meant that we forgot to write acceptable regulations for slaughter horse transport. THIS is the travesty. Not that horses are slaughtered, but that they have to endure hours upon hours of fear and cramped spaces before they go. We need to accept slaughter as a necessary evil and write laws for humane transport of slaughter horses.

one time we had bought a 20 horse trailer and our 4 best friends had bought 20 horse trailers too and we stopped at a truck stop and there was a slaughter trailier beside us we oppened our trailers and saved everyone of those horses ever sense i have sat at truck stops and resscued these horses if you would like to help leave your username on my comments on my channel think every person that does this saves a horse

Ok I am not sure what a faggit is but I am merely illustrating that as humans we are consumers. All of the drugs that keep us alive were tested and are still tested on animals to ensure human life. I am a proponent of horse slaughter, as it is the most efficient way to dispose of unwanted horses. Any horse of value is not going to slaughter mainly becaue the average slaughter price is only $200 a head. There are no get rich quick schemes at that price.

Really all of you anti-slaughter people are living in a fantasy. Go analyze the data on unwanted horses and the land mass of this country. There are annually 100,000 head of these horses. The vast majority of "mustang" territory supports about one horse per thousand acres especially in Nevada. Mrs. Pickens is getting a million acres of her private or public trusted land to put only 30,000 of them. She will also have to feed them hay in winter. So crunch those numbers and get back with me....

Oh, and yes, the sellers do know where they are going, as well as who bought. A seller can refuse sale at any time before the paperwork is finished. I have worked with horses that will try to kill you. There are some of them left believe it or not. There is no test a vet can do to distinguish that. I don't understand several parts of this video. However, I do disagree with shipping HEALTHY horses to slaughter. That is about all I disagree with. Your perception of the trailer that they are loaded on is way off. It is a standard 50' livestock transport trailer. I own two of them. Although I have never loaded a horse on to the trailer, I do know that head room is adequate. I stand at 6'1, which is no more than 3 to 4 inches above an average horses back, yet i have plenty of head clearance.
if i saw one of those trailers at a gas station i would walk right up to the driver and ask how much he wanted for the poor horses!!!! then i would retrain and sell them to loving homes, not slaughterhouses!!!!

Of course I support horse slaughter. Theres 100,000 head of unwanted horse annually. there is not enough land mass to support that many horses, let alone enough tax payers money to feed them. They are 1000 lb and up animals that take up alot of space when they die. We dont have the environmental capability to put them all in a land fill.

The drivers of the trucks have no say so in how much or where the horses go. They are owner-operator drivers who are leased to livestock companies. They are doing their jobs, just like everyone else in America.
Life is harsh. I pay $1,000 a month to maintain my horse. I also have two children. I have done my best to take care of everyone, but it's expensive, and what do you do when you lose your job? There are also orphan kids, dogs and cats that are starving, being abused, and dying out there. But looking them in the eye, while they are still healthy, scared and confused, we are all moved, for sure. Try going to the Haulocaust museum in Jerusalem.

oh my god. i cryed watching this. me and my mum used to drive by a tralier in cyprus. sometimes the horses were being loaded by electric cattle rods. you could see the fear in them. they knew where they were going. its dreadful. i dont know how anyone could do this. as i said to bullhaulininstyle, those horses could have gone to the top. if i ever get a horse, it will be rescued from slaughter. and if i ever get a job with horses. it will be in a rescue centre. poor things...

I almost cried If I could I would buy every single one of those horse when I am older I will put up a sign that says if you dont want a horse or if you know of a horse in need I will take and provide care for that horse no matter what!! ok those of you that think slaughter is a humane way to kill horses, you are seriously mistaken and you need to learn more. when horses are slaughtered first they get packed into those trailers. then, when they get to the slaughterhouse, they are shot in the head. horses are waiting in line watching this, knowing that they are next. the shot usually doesnt kill them instantly so they get hung by their back feet and chopped up alive. now how is that humane? its horrible. euthanizing is better.

In this economy I would imagine they don't have the best resorces to beat out a collage grad who lost their job. Too bad the banning of slaughter in the USA has meant thousands of horses are now shipped to Canada & Mexico for slaughter. They travel many more miles and endure alot more stress because somebody didn't think this whole thing through. Canadian facilities are now overcrowded and who knows what happens in Mexican facilities. What should have happened and what should still happen in Canada is the industry should be regulated to the hilt. If there is indiscriminate breeding there must be slaughter

Horse slaughter WAS legal in the US & it was REGULATED. They were put down using HUMANE methods. Way to go voters. now that they are shut down they go to Mexico. i dont see why people would send their horse to an auction in the first place - especially the fit and healthy horses, there are lots of people who would love them!
one of my horses we bought from the sales as a broken 4yr old ready to be brought on - he is approx 10 now and we still have him and he is doing well. our other horse we were more or less given because his owner was off to fight in the war and she wanted somewhere he would be looked after. surely more people would love these horses

But it is not "Canada's" fault it is idiot people who want to CONSUME horse meat and demand it which therefore demands transport, slaughter, auctions, etc. It is not one thing or one person's fault it is a collection of mistakes made by people who think this is an okay practice. Okay everybody, Listen up.. Slaughter is necessary because they are UNWANTED. There is NO MAGIC PLACE these horses can go to. The only way to stop the slaughter, is to stop breeding. I know someone with a mare that will think its okay to breed. horses can live 30+ yrs. if you don't keep it its whole life it may end up in a slaughter house. FACT!!! I am a retired animal control officer. No home=death. think about it.

Yes theres no magic place for them to go but that doesn't mean we have to give them the most horrible death we can think of. I think its good that slaughter isn't allowed in the US where I live. Plus what puts a horse above cattle, pigs chickens, turkey,deer,bear,gator, snake,and all other animals that can be used for human consumption? The people we should blame are ourselves for outlawing slaughter and ignoring the fact that it occurs in our neighboring countries. To ignore this fact meant that we forgot to write acceptable regulations for slaughter horse transport. THIS is the travesty. Not that horses are slaughtered, but that they have to endure hours upon hours of fear and cramped spaces before they go. We need to accept slaughter as a necessary evil and write laws for humane transport of slaughter horses.

A horse is an animal just like a mouse you catch in a trap in your house. No more significant to life or the food chain than a tiny little mouse. and if you were a horse and you were happy and had a family and a little girl that loved you dearly and you loved too, and then all of a sudden you were shoved in a trailer and you saw your little girl crying and then you left & went to a strange building with hundreds of other confused and scared animals, and then were shoved unto a crowded double decker trailer with a bunch of other hoses and were shipped to a slaughter house how would you feel?

Ok I am not sure what a faggit is but I am merely illustrating that as humans we are consumers. All of the drugs that keep us alive were tested and are still tested on animals to ensure human life. I am a proponent of horse slaughter, as it is the most efficient way to dispose of unwanted horses. Any horse of value is not going to slaughter mainly becaue the average slaughter price is only $200 a head. There are no get rich quick schemes at that price.

Humans are at the top, and because our population is so large we require much more food, and to keep out race going we need to mass produce, and this is the only way. Nothing nice about it. I recommend you stop caring, it'll just keep getting worse as our population grows. The more you care about an issue that will not be resolved to your liking, the more uneeded rage builds.

Really all of you anti-slaughter people are living in a fantasy. Go analyze the data on unwanted horses and the land mass of this country. There are annually 100,000 head of these horses. The vast majority of "mustang" territory supports about one horse per thousand acres especially in Nevada. Mrs. Pickens is getting a million acres of her private or public trusted land to put only 30,000 of them. She will also have to feed them hay in winter. So crunch those numbers and get back with me....

So, adding to my comment about the "dreaded double-decker trailers" (senseless and uneducated term), I feel absolutley no remorse or pity for the horses shown. Oh, and yes, the sellers do know where they are going, as well as who bought. A seller can refuse sale at any time before the paperwork is finished. Make sure you have a sure fire knowledge of your debate, instead of one tiny glimpse of it. Have a nice day!

thank you jmc for adding that. once again this org. is wrong about the details. But I will say one thing. There is no way to distinguish slaughter ready horses. I have worked with horses that will try to kill you. There are some of them left believe it or not. There is no test a vet can do to distinguish that. ANd besides you are doing a horrible disservice to the slaughter industry by not allowing healthy ones to be killed. People consuming the meat do not want old or crippled flesh.

I don't understand several parts of this video. However, I do disagree with shipping HEALTHY horses to slaughter. That is about all I disagree with. Your perception of the trailer that they are loaded on is way off. It is a standard 50' livestock transport trailer. I own two of them. Although I have never loaded a horse on to the trailer, I do know that head room is adequate. I stand at 6'1, which is no more than 3 to 4 inches above an average horses back, yet i have plenty of head clearance.

Yeah more power to you but I doubt you would ever do that. Mainly because you probably dont have the resources to care for that many horses. Sadly 9 out of 10 of these horses are sold for a reason. They are too old, crippled,or possibly wild. Now we can euthanize them and throw their stinking corpse in a landfill or we can feed a hungry person or dog. It is your choice. We are preached to recycle and care for the environment and yet some people would put emotional attachments ahead of that.

Of course I support horse slaughter. Theres 100,000 head of unwanted horse annually. there is not enough land mass to support that many horses, let alone enough tax payers money to feed them. If you are heartless enough to let a horse with a crippled leg die on your place than I think that Shark needs to go after you. Horses are not pets. They are 1000 lb and up animals that take up alot of space when they die. We dont have the environmental capability to put them all in a land fill.

there is plenty of places in the world where you can set your horse free. if nobody wants the horse why make him die? let him live a happy and natural life in the wild. if the horse is crippled, there is many things you can still do with him. depending on how bad he is and where he is crippled he could be a therapedic horse, or a little kids horse, or if its a mare, a broodmare, alot of things. horses have brains and feelings just as humans do. they are very intelligent creatures.

Life is harsh. I pay $1,000 a month to maintain my horse. I also have two children. I have done my best to take care of everyone, but it's expensive, and what do you do when you lose your job? There are also orphan kids, dogs and cats that are starving, being abused, and dying out there. But looking them in the eye, while they are still healthy, scared and confused, we are all moved, for sure. Try going to the Haulocaust museum in Jerusalem.

Nature is not all fluffy and wonderful like we would think it should be. But that is life. The weak and injured die and are killed. It is the circle of life. We as omnivorous beings are part of that circle. We have to kill things to survive. The entire world cant survive on plants alone. Horses are part of this cycle.

oh my god. i cryed watching this. me and my mum used to drive by a tralier in cyprus. sometimes the horses were being loaded by electric cattle rods. you could see the fear in them. they knew where they were going. its dreadful. i dont know how anyone could do this. as i said to bullhaulininstyle, those horses could have gone to the top. if i ever get a horse, it will be rescued from slaughter. and if i ever get a job with horses. it will be in a rescue centre. poor things...

I watched your video. Your horses are beautiful! I wonder if you have heard about the PMU horses? And if so maybe you could help spread the word. It is an awful torture that these horses endure. Search pmu horses or pregnant mare urine. Anyway if we could stop the manufacturing of premarin or prempro which are menopause drugs. There would be no need for pregnant mare urine. So please research this and write me back. If we can spread the word this would stop alot of horse suffering and slaughter

they are raised for the sole purpose of providing food to others. what people fail to see is not only is the entire slaughter industry absolutely barbaric, but the horses aren't raised for slaughter. they are vaccinated and given meds. so when they are put in that foreign butcher shop window, their meat is still full of everything we've shot them up with to keep them healthy.

this video makes me sick as does this world. we are such a cruel people. why do we have to destroy everything that is beautiful? it's not just horses that suffer. it's all animals. i read of a pig that was sent to butcher it lay in a cradle and all it's feet had been removed but it was still alive. how can people be okay with this? i cannot wait till this world ends. all of us who have cried and cared will be in heaven with all the precious animals who have suffered at our hands.

i feel exactly the same way. if you read my other comments you would have sen the one about the pig who lay in a cradle type thing with all his feet removed but still alive. does that make ya sick? it's one thing to kill animals for food but it needs to be done humanely. don't you agree? i have also seen undercover footage of chickens being thrown against walls,kicked and tortured. i think it's sickening. that's how i feel. so feel free to write back.

But if you are trying to keep them from pain, then send them on and they will no longer have pain, did you think about that. Horses with one eye, three working legs, are not useful to anyone, what's the point in keeping something around that just gets in the way. I have horses but if it was in pain i'd sell it our shoot it.

You know It's because of people like you the horse industry is dying. And in fact you are killing the horses, you're giving them a slow, painful death. Many people who are trying to save horses are running out of money and space and they are in fact starving these horses. Slaughter houses need to reopen, to save the horses from more pain.
