Ocean Dredging

Are the areas in the Bering sea leased? I had heard that. Is it not worth it to get into the hardpack? I have dreamed of dredging the Bering sea for over a decade. I have even designed a couple of unique pieces of equipment specificly for recovering the gold in the somewhat unique challenges dredging in the ocean involves. Love the video by the way.

Do you dredge in a big semi circle as far as the hose can reach and then move? or? Can you comment on how you map out where you've dredged and where you left off from last season? Any more vids to put up? This one is awesome! Too bad RJD killed the original soundtrack :(

Have you ever tried shortening your hose and having the sluice box behind you, you are loosing a lot of power trying to lift the overburden

it's a consideration, but underwater recovery is a bit of a trick and surface sluices are much more resilient. Hey give it a shot.

their is no difference in the recovery of the gold using the sluice box on top or underneath its just that using the sluice underneath when its deep it is much better and save power, I did note that your suction could have been a lot better and this would help

Dan, which dredge outfit were you working for? Is it normal to have such poor suction on the nozzle, or was this for the video. How long of shifts do you put in underwater? Reason I ask I will be doing this, this summer. Thanks
